Thank you, TMNT fans!

Folks,

Just a quick note here to send a huge THANK YOU out to everyone who has taken the chance with IDW's TMNT #1 and supported it in such an awesome fashion!

In lieu of an official announcement, which will be coming from IDW and Nickelodeon next week most likely, I wanted to be the first to share that TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #1 has sold-out and will be going back to the presses for a second printing!

This is specatacular news for a non-Marvel or DC comic book in the current comics market and could have never happened without such loyal and just plain kick-ass fans, old and new alike. Alongside Kevin, Dan, Ronda, Scott, Bobby, IDW, Nickelodeon, April, Casey, and Splinter and the Boys in Green, I bow in respect and thanks to you all!

The adventure continues!

Talk soon...

Wow, this is great news. Although part of me wonders if sales were inflated because some people tried to get each and every cover of #1.

I guess it is true then, alternate covers really do boost sales of a book. If one person bought #1 around 5 times just to get the alternate covers, then that's where a lot of the sales are coming from.

Here's hoping the momentum keeps up!

I'll be the first of what I expect will be a long line of replies of TMNT fans that want to thank you, Tom, for helping to bring TMNT back to life in comic form. We all believe in you and your fellow staff and are excited to see where you take the franchise.

The sell out is absolutely awesome news! Do you have the print numbers for that first run, by chance?

To be honest, I'm not privy to all the numbers at this point, but having a lot of covers does help boost things. That said, the best part of this news is that, even with all those extra covers, stores can't keep them on their shelves and the distributor (Diamond) can't keep them in their warehouses.

It's so cool to know there's still such a huge demand for this property. Kevin and Peter really created a monster, didn't they? A big, beautiful, bodacious monster that will live forever. I whole-heartedly salute 'em both!

Now... back to writing for me. Got some future IDW TMNT issues to get done before editors Scott Dunbier and Bobby Curnow knock the shell outta me.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Tom

Awesome! Congrats guys! This is the first time in a long time that a TMNT book has gone to several printings. Didn't the very first issue of Vol 1 have at least 6 printings? I have a 4th print issue....

That's great!

It's funny; a lot of folks out there are acting like this is the first TMNT comic published since 1991 or something, unaware that there was an ongoing TMNT comic as recently as May of last year.

It goes to show what the right marketing, publisher and creative team can do for a title.

Here's hoping the numbers stay steady and we get a long run out of this.

Well, I'm not surprised, since my LCS in Louisville had practically sold out by 5pm on Wednesday. And I know they ordered at least 20 copies since I bought the Dealer Incentive B cover.

Congrats to IDW and let's hope the strong sales continue.

Golden Apple totally sold out before Kevin showed up to sign. Apparently they had to go and get more copies from IDW to supply the signing, and then ran out AGAIN within a couple minutes of Kevin showing up.

Congrats to you and the team Tom!

Didn't the first two issues of Vol. 4 also have second printings? How strong of a start did Vol. 4 have?

Yea, but I'm going to take a wild guess that the print runs were substantially smaller.

Great news, Tom! This is truly an exciting time to be a TMNT fan.

I'm wondering, will the second printing contain the same 4 Turtle covers, or just a single cover for the entire second printing?

I'm hoping it will be the latter, so we can all feel special with the first prints of whatever Turtle(s) we picked (or if you purchased all 4!)

Congratulations TMNT team! It's a good book, and it deserves to do well, better than a lot of what is out there these days. I'm looking forward to this series having a long life.

Thank you, Tom, for being a cool guy and touching base with us. It really gives the feeling that the Turtles are still this great little indy franchise.

One question: do you know if the second printing will have multiple covers?

To be honest, Spengs, a lot of people didn't know! The proof is definitely in the pudding and really does show that the Turtles are still very much a viable property in today's world.

All it took was the right team willing to put forth the effort.

Thanks again to Tom, Kevin, Scott and everyone else who has a hand in this series, but especially to Tom for crafting a compelling story to hook people right out of the gate!!

I may just re-check my LCS to see if they still have copies...but I doubt they will. This is great news! I hope this remins true for many issues to come.

Coolbeanz. I hope this isn't just a thing with it being the first issue of a well-known property and that. I hope future issues continue to see profitable sales.

I must say that I was very excited to see/hear this, and I am also proud to state that I liked them before they were mainstream
