I think IDW StarWars out sold TMNT in January.

I wonder what IDW pays in licensing fees to Nick? Does that take a significant chunk out of profits? Nick could tell IDW to end the ongoing I think. I’m not sure how much power IDW has in things like that. So the decision to stay the course isn’t completely up to IDW because of the licensing. At least with my limited understanding that’s the way things appear.

and so the sales numbers continue to drop.

guess i'm not the only one who's been routinely disappointed with how the series has been going.

I know good things do come to an end. I know realistically the current ongoing can’t go for 800 issues. Even if we hope it does. I do think we will always have a TMNT comic. It’s just when does the change happen and what will it look like? It will be very interesting to see what happens after #100.

it feels like whatever they were planning for issue 100 should have already happened by now.

the story has been just dragging it's feet to get to the milestone issue, and sacrificing good storytelling in the process.

i really don't like admitting these things, but i have to be honest.
a friend of mine keeps asking me why i keep spending money on a comic i'm not enjoying.
the truth is i WANT to enjoy it, but it's really not giving me much to enjoy.
my reply to the question was that i'm just a hopeless optimist. hoping to feel that spark once more.
but like all things in things in life ... things change ... eventually they end.
they keep going the way they've been, i'm not so sure i'd care to see what happens past 100.
i'd rather see things get wrapped up on a high note than stagger into the dust.

It’s getting really close if it’s going to be like CityAtWar length. That would mean issue #87 would have to kick off something epic. I personally don’t think it needs to be that many issues though.

If #100 was the end of the current ongoing as we know it. Well I’d be happy with issues 95-100 not being multi-parters at all. Just really great self contained stories. But I don’t think IDW will break the formula that is in place currently just for me.

As the OP... if anyone wants to compile a list of all the sales stuff since where I left off, I can cut and paste it into the original post.

Glad to see the ongoing is counting to bounce back in terms of sales.

While it may be seem low, the ongoing is IDW's biggest seller besides Sonic which just had a reboot and a new number 1 which would obviously bring a ton more attention, and Starwars.

Below the ongoing and above tmnt universe. However TMNT universe still made more money than MLP since it is a 5 dollar book.

I noticed all of IDW's comics across the board sales are low, besides Sonic because that's brand new and just started. I don't know how they keep the Ghostbusters, Gi-Joe, Back to the Future, Transformers, etc. comics still running when a lot of them only sell 5,000 copies or less a month.

I would assume that they are still making money so why cut them? Hence why i'm not understanding why people are speculating that they will cancel the tmnt ongoing anytime soon.

So now that we know TMNT Universe is canceled, this is the most recent sales posted:

TMNTU #21
7,280

TMNT Universe was only selling a little over 7,000 copies with a $5 price tag, I guess it wasn't worth it. We still have 4 new issues of Universe to go, I wonder if the last 4 issues will do any better.

Hey CyberCubed, I've heard rumors for a while now that TMNT Universe was going to be canceled and I've still not seen an official announcement of this. I've searched around a bit and still no luck. Do you have a source for an official cancellation notice? Thanks man!
