Star Wars Battlefront 3

So i know this thread is kind of coming out of know where, but ive wanted to know this for a long time...

Why don't they release a Star Wars Battlefront 3 game??

SWBf2 is one of my all time favorite ps2 games, and imo one of, if not the best star wars game. There is just something so awesome about mounting a rebel assault on land or in space, or storming a rebel stronghold with legions of stormtroopers. And when you throw jedi and sith lords into the mix the game gets even better!

I cannot, for the life of me, understand why there has not been a second sequel for this franchise. With the updated graphics and technology, practically every aspect of the first two could be improved upon. bigger battles, smarted ai, improved online play...

If anyone here feels the same way, or has any ideas or thoughts as to why there has not been a release, please share.

I loved both Battlefront games and I'd kill for a new one, but I'm still not getting my hopes up.

After all the bullsh*t over the Free Radical leaks and layoffs and Rebellion getting the game and having it pulled as well, I feel like Lucasarts may have just canned the project, at least for now. At least we know it was well into development when it all fell apart, so the idea of a 3rd game isn't out of the question. However, all that sh*t went down in like 2008. That's a long time without an announcement, then again, a lot of the FRD layoffs took their propriety engine work with them when they left, including that super impressive sounding ground to space combat stuff, so maybe there just wasn't a ton left when they got pulled off the project.

ya i remember seeing a little trailer from some con and hearing about that land to space stuff. but ya, i just cant believe it hasnt been resurrected in the last 3 years. I cant say i know how well the first two games actually sold, but almost all of my "star wars fan" friends loved them, the ones who didnt were more geared towards the jedi knight games.

well heres to hoping that the project may one day live again, i know they'll have my money if they do.
