The April Variants

So which April is everyone's favorite?

This review of the Ninja April has a pretty good pic of most of the Aprils together:

http://www.scary-crayon.com/toys/ninjaapril/

The orange boots repaint is missing, as is the "Ravishing Reporter".

Is it just me, or when you put Mutating April and April II side by side, it looks like a before and after weight loss picture? Like all the Mutating figures, they had to make April a little fatter to fit the parts inside. I remember the Morphing Power Rangers were like that too, so Pink and Yellow didn't have very girlish figures because the changeable head had to go inside.

I'd say my favorite is April II. The classic yellow jumpsuit with a few added details to make it a more interesting looking figure.

The one with the purple pockets and black accessories. I think it's just called April O'neil but came out in the mid to late 90's.

I still like the original no stripe. The one with purple pockets is a close second though

i always refer to her as "gutsiest gal" in my auctions- because her card read "the gutsiest gal to ever gather news"

If you look at my personal collection photo, you'll see that the chest and stomach portion of the jumpsuit on one 1988 Blue Stripe variant is more of a yellowish orange than pure yellow. I was wondering if anyone else has heard of such a thing, or if a chemical process caused to paint to change colors, or if it was just made up.

It looks like sun or smoke damage, or possibly a combination of both.

im banking on damage

so far out of all of my years collecting, the april figures have been the least appealing to me. This may be because i always scoffed at the "barbie doll" turtle toy as a kid so I just don't like her now, but I cant find much interest in any of her toys or accessories (the accessories and facial expressions are normally what does it for me in a figure)

however, i would say the 2k april is currently my favorite

PS: What is this "blue boots" and "purple pocket" variants i keep hearing about here? Pics?

Actually, I always like Cave April. Aside from her almost comical lipstick grin, I thought she was a pretty cool figure who was capable of fighting. The April with purple pockets is also pretty cool. Never cared for the original's head/face, but the one in the orange jumpsuit didn't look bad.

^ Cave Woman. Realize the Ninja came first, but the Cave Woman figure just seemed cooler. Maybe because she came with a dinosaur, I don't know.

Here's what I'm talking about with comparing the two Aprils as a before and after weight loss pic.

It's a little easier to see it when looking at the figures in person I guess. The Mutatin' April's arms are really thick, the face is a bit rounder too, and the normal April's waist is much narrower.

It looks like the arms from the mutating one are the same as the original, and the face is definately chubbier.
