Multiverse or Ultimate OT?

A bit of discussion had TheFallen & I curious over the future of the classics line. We know other characters/variants will follow the initial set provided sales do well, but we don't know necessarily what we'll get. I myself, despite having a great desire for secondary characters from the OT, would much rather see the other versions of the turtles surface if I were forced to choose. Screen accurate Jim Henson turtles, Jim Lawson turtles, Next Mutation, & so on.

If the fate of the Classics series depended on choosing between the two, which would you rather have?

-The ultimate OT line (basically the original series of figures re-designed to look as they did in the cartoon)

Or

-The Multiverse line (Turtles Prime, Jim Henson turtles, Artist specific variants - Lawson, Farley, etc.-Vol. 3 style, Next Mutation, & so forth

Multiverse all the way. With the exception of Splinter, I wouldn't buy the other characters anyway. I'm in this for the Turtles. Jim Henson Movie 1 accurate Turtles would make me quite the happy man...yes that's an understatement.

I would love a Turtles Forever style toy line, with various different characters showing up in figure form. My big hope is still for characters who never got a figure to get one made.

The Multiverse line for me. While I love secondary characters and will for sure buy them, turtles come first.

Multiverse but only if they included Shredder, I can deal with no other secondary characters.

Why would anyone vote OT? The Multiverse could INCLUDE OT as well! That's like asking if someone would rather have only sandwiches or access to a restaurant's entire menu.

You know what I'd prefer more than either? An amalgam line where they are not based on any one mutiverse, just take traits of all of them and make one "ultimate" figure of that character.

Because by Multiverse he means ONLY the turtles, no other characters.

Both, because I don't see them doing alternate Turtles until after secondary characters from the OT like April, Splinter, Shredder, Krang, and Bebop and Rocksteady. (Maybe a Foot Soldier.) That and after a while "Just Different Turtles" would suffer sales wise.

EDIT: So basically the Multiverse (meaning any character) thought that Wes mentioned.

There is no both option. You choose one or the other otherwise the toyline gets cancelled (hypothetically, of course).

That MTV video blog made it sound like after the classic OT TMNT, if they sold well, they would include other OT characters and then eventually the multiverse of Turtles...or did I just make that up?

Multiverse, accurate movie figures would be cool, I would like to see really good comic figures something better than NECA's even. I like the idea of Jim Lawson turtles as well, even if it was a limited edition online thing for collectors.

I'd also like to see OT Shredder, Krang Bebop and Rocksteady, April, Foot soldier ect.

Ok...I'd rather more characters than just Turtles, no matter which versions. I go Ultimate OT.

Multiverse. I need non-OT characters in this series.

My top 10 "never been made" figures that I wanna see are:

Dreadmon
Ninjara
Jagwar
Roadkill Rodney
Lt. Granitor
generic Stone Warrior/ Rock Soldier {preferably a 2-pack, one orangy brown, the other bluish grey}
Kid Terra
Bookwurm /w/ Innardo
Tora
Shogun

Do you ever wonder, if Baxter, as the fly, ever had the urge to eat poop?

I see... and yeah, then I'd like a third option, since I want non-Turtle characters who weren't in the OT or vintage line.

After we get toon accurate versions of Shredder/Krang/Bebop/Rocksteady I'd like to see them expand to other Turtles, but not before.

Either way I am pretty sure Playmates will be making the villains from the OT next anyway.

The Multiverse option is the only way this series will last past 2 waves. You start getting into waves without turtles and it'll sell like crap. People say they love characters like Shredder and such but they don't buy them nearly as much as they would turtles.

I severely doubt we're going to see obscure artist version of the Turtles.

Most likely they'll do "Mirage TMNT" and leave it at that. Or "IDW TMNT."

I also don't think they'd re-do the 4kids Turtles again, but who knows. The movie Turtles were also fairly accurate, both the Movie 1-3 and Movie 4 toys already.

If the Multiverse option is (for the purposes of the poll) JUST the TMNT and no other characters, then I'm going with Ultimate OT. I like the TMNT, but I want other characters to go with them.

But like others have said I believe the line will be both. The OT will be the focus, but we will get variants of core characters based on other media like 2K3 and the movies. Realistically I think the next wave(s) will be the core cast of the OT (April, Splinter, Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang, Foot Soldier) but after that they'll roll out another set of turtles, like Spitfire says doing TMNT variants is the only way this line will survive at retail. We might want Ninjara, Complete Carnage and Old Hob, but the vast majority have no idea who they are.

Realistically I think we're looking at the TMNT, core supporting cast and some key secondary characters from the OT, the TMNT and a few core characters from 2K3, the live action movies and the comics, and if we're lucky we might get a set of TMNT from Image and The Next Mutation. Anything more than that and I'd be over the moon!
