Patrick Roy Retiring

What do you all think about him retiring? I'm sad, cuz he is one of my favorite goalies (Ed Belfour is my other one). I have heard that he is retiring because he wants to see his 14 year old son who plays goalie for a team in Quebec, and because he has arthritic hips. What all do you think about this?

I think it's cool. He's proved all he could. He's the best goalie ever in the NHL and I think he deserves it. I'm just wondering what Colorado is going to do. They have HUGE hole now.

This is sad, but I heard that Colorado might try to sign another fellow Quebecer. Perhaps you know him; Felix Potvin.

I know, I was too. Yeah they should retire his number but I dont think he's the "greatest"

No, but he's unquestionably one of the greatest. I'll name a few of the old-timers. Keep in mind that I've forgotten some..hehe

Ken Dryden
Johnny Bower
Jaques Plante
Terry Sawchuck

I remember there was this goalie in the 1920s...He was good..and there was another who played with two trappers.

Oh dear god, if they get Potvin I am gonna die! I hate that guy, he was good in Toronto, but I dno how he is doing now, I dont really see too many headlines or anything with him now. If they want a fellow Quebecer they should get Jean-Sebastien Giguere

Anaheim may put up a fight in a bidding war or whatever, but Patrick Roy was getting paid what, 7.5 million a year? What is J.S.G. getting paid? Probably less. Meh, I just hope they get a good goalie. Who was it that is going to be a free agent this year? I know a main goalie is going to be a free agent this summer, but I forgot his name x_x
