A fan wants to create a Mario football game titled 'Super Mario Huddle'

http://wiiudaily.com/2016/04/super-m...tball-concept/

Quote:
While Nintendo has seen fit to give Mario all sorts of sports to compete at including soccer, the one we havenít seen is an American Football mash-up. One fan wanted to see what a Super Mario Football game might look like so he created his own. -SyBro on the Nintendo subreddit created these 3D renders that you see and proposed some ideas for how a Mario football game would work.

Dubbed Super Mario Huddle, -SyBro proposes a GameCube controller would work best to control the game with the following rules:

-Classic 11v11, Arcade gameplay, no more than the basic rules apply
-Item based 6v6. ?-boxes could be placed on a passing route, and completing a pass on that route gets you the box. As for the defenders, how about sacking the QB?
-Coop: Second Player picks a star player to play as the Tight End. I think that makes for the most varied gameplay.

Id play this if the controls were good.

If Nintendo released it, a child around 7 years old who, somehow, found how to get 30 to 60 dollars to buy a crap game because it had Mario on it and we all know Mario is great for marketing. So, basically, people who don't know any better or collectors needing to complete their collection.

That's cool, but sooner or later, Nintendo is going to send a C&D on this fan game.

Yep. Nintendo can't get people thinking that there's going to be more than one major title before they kill off the Wii U.

I don't really see the appeal of a Mario American Football game, but Strikers was enjoyable for a Football game, so who knows. With enough SMB gimmicks any sports game can be interesting.

There are many tales of humans who said they would leave the everlasting Technodrome Forums, and I had made one of them. Yet, like eating a giant Everlasting Gobstopper, you cannot finish it, just like I cannot leave the almighty Technodrome.

If people buy Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games and Mario Strikers, I don't see why they wouldn't buy this as well. Although a game based around American Football wouldn't do very well outside of the USA, I wager. I personally wouldn't play it, but I could see it selling 500k-1M units in USA.

I'll confess I'd like to give this one a shot. Could be a mess, but the Mario license worked alright in an arcade soccer engine... even if it could be way unfair at times!
