Man ... those almost remind me of Happy Meal Toys.
EDIT: Actually, the photos in the link don't look THAT bad ... but I still can't sink my teeth into these designs.

I actually think these look okay. I’ll probably buy the turtles at least.

Why is Leonardo weeping tears of blood?
Those toys look cheap and nasty, like second-hand trousers at a parish bake sale.

Poor scale, they say Raph is the biggest turtles, well in figure land he appears to be the smallest

I'm trying to stay optimistic. I need to see some actual footage of the show in action. So many changes this time around. 2k12 had changes but it felt very true to the franchise. This time it's off in a different direction.
I like Leo, Raph is a real downgrade from previous Raph interpretations IMO. That said, I do like the 'energy fists' raph comes with. Last edited by Zulithe; 02-16-2018 at 08:37 AM. |

I KNOW! I get that these are just kid's toys ... but yikes, there's no effort at all with Playmates to try and get scale right. Besides the giant Krang body, I don't think it was ever really a concern for them though.

Weird how the Baron Draxum toy isn't shown? I'm curious of his design

He fought so long and got so far, but in the end it didn't really matter.

I like the name of the character "Meat Sweats" and the playset looks like it'll be a cool way to display figures.

I think he's shown on the Sewer Lair display along with another unidentified character (maybe another type of Foot Soldier).

I'll hold judgement on the show itself until I see a couple of episodes, but I'm now certain that this will be the first line of TMNT toys, together with the ones based on the Bay movies, I'll completely pass on. The designs are going to get quite a lot getting used to, and the execution of the toys appear to be as poor as ever. This is no novelty for Playmates, but I remember being happily surprised when the first wave of figures based on the Nick show was revealed. I don't think they even tried this time around.

I'm mainly a 1/6 scale collector (with the exception of TMNT), so the Giant figs are an instant buy for me because I have to have the bros. and if I'm honest I think they look better than the standard scale figures for a change.

And as usual, since this is still Playmates... expect a lot of those paint apps to not exist on the final figures. Shameful that their false advertising continues, other figure makers don't pull that BS.
