Then the same thing happened in 2k3, Nick, IDW, etc....so I guess not.
Yeah, but I don't think Pete was trying to sell that as "FUGITOID IS DEAD!"

Not like 4Kids did in Season 3.

TMNT has found it's Leomon!

IDW has been there, done that.

We're only hours away from knowing for sure... I still say it's a toss-up between Krang and the Fugitoid, though I'm leaning on Krang for now (due to the fact that we just recently had the Fugitoid "die" on us). If it ends up being anyone else, I'll be quite surprised. The hardest part is avoiding spoilers.

The problem is, if it is Krang, I'm not sure how it would go down.

The turtles aren't allowed to kill. Leatherhead will probably have already done quite enough slaughter, so that last when with Krang at the end would be less excited (especially if he's already taken out Hakk-R), it would be boring if it was one of the Neutrinos. The best I can say is that it's during the swarm. Which would also be a less exciting death...unless he's trying to take on Maligna himself, which probably would be the only way for him to go. Screaming, "Fight me, b*tch"

Also when the issue comes out please don't blurt out the spoiler of whoever dies. At least keep it in spoiler tags for awhile before more get the issue.

Fugitoid it is and he comes back eventually. Its the closest to a red shirt that we have at the moment.

Nah, it's totally Littlefinger. Or Frost. Or Omni-Man. (I think I took a wrong turn in the fandoms road somewhere...)

Well, we can say it's totally not Lt. Colonel Hughes! He's totally not going to die next episode and break the hearts of everyone on screen! Not after the heartbreak of Charlie's death!

There is another issue with Krang dying from a narrative standpoint. And that issue is Ch'rell.

Ma'riell has already said that he's obsessive; she was concerned about telling him Krang was in prison. And while it would be a pretty amazing scene for her to try telling him he's dead while in terror of what he'll do, it wouldn't work.

If he had been introduced earlier, it would work better. But we know nothing of their relationship except for what little Fugitoid and Ma'riell have said about him. Basically, Krang's hyper-loyal dog. Which means Ch'rell would end up being very little except for "that guy trying to avenge Krang". Which would only give him "Inigo Montoya Syndrome". Which he, as a military official, would know that is a bad thing to have because of what you're supposed to do with yourself after revenge.

From a narrative standpoint, I feel like Ch'rell trying to free Krang from prison/banishment would be a lot more interesting than wanting revenge for his death. And honestly, a lot less sad too. You don't want to introduce a character and feel bad for him the whole time. You feel bad for him later and only in a few appropriate moments. As it was with Krang. And Shredder.

Basically, it doesn't feel like an awesome way to introduce a character by telling him that his leader and..."close friend?" close friend is dead. In prison? Sure. But telling him he's dead is a little overboard.

(I feel like I'm not really articulating myself well, all this sounded a lot better in my head).

Yep, it was him.

And in a really disappointing way. And while Kleve and Montuoro deciding to keep it a secret - especially from Ma'riell - is interesting, it still feels like it was rushed out.

The invasion was a waste too.

I feel a deep disappointment with the entirety of the Trial and Dimension X, with it basically being Krang's big sendoff. Only for him to end up grumbling in the sidelines until the bitter end and adding nothing new to what we already knew about him. It's a shadow compared to what happened with Shredder and that's the biggest shame of all.

So General Kraang is being digested in Leatherheads stomach.

It would be funny if he's still alive in there

Likely not.

At this point, now that I've had a few hours to take it in...I'm actually mad at how it went down. I didn't think I would be, but I am. And I'm not sure if it will escalate or not. I wouldn't have had a problem with Krang dying, but absolutely not like that. And especially not after an arch that I had been really excited about turning up with disappointment. In all areas of it.

Is this what it's like watching Game of Thrones?

I had a better reaction to a twist in a webcomic I follow than I did in the entirety of the Trial arch, to be honest.

The Maligna invasion was a bit disappointing for me, as was the ground battle.

King Zenter is a Spineless punk!
at least Leatherhead's outburst made this drawn out trial worthwhile.

and i really hope for the sake of this series that we don't see any more courtroom dramas!
there were definitely some fun moments, but while i enjoyed this issue i really can't say i loved it.

So I do feel a little suspicious of things going on.

I'd assume Krang was put back in his cell during the "invasion", but we never actually see what he did in there. Which would leave a lot to the imagination.
For now, I'm bargaining with myself that it was just an exact clone, left by Rick Sanchez when he broke in and snatched Krang "for a thing", not counting on the clone dying prematurely. All in jest to keep my spirits up, of course. Obviously Krang has business that isn't through, like Shredder. And with the Universe series, this won't be the last we see of him. At least in flashbacks.

I personally am struggling how it would carry on past #100 once Ch'rell's intentions are stopped.

Utrommaniac, your username notwithstanding, you really REALLY need to loosen up a little on your obsession with the Utroms. Seriously.

I think Krang really is dead. I think this story is a spring board for C'rell's story, who will take over as our new villain, seeking vengeance for Krang's death. And the Utroms don't have to continue their story past #100. Bobby has stated in IDW, dead characters are dead.

IDW is the best version of TMNT

If they make a TMNT reboot movie retelling the shredder battle/origin, I won't buy a ticket.

Wow...

Spoiler:

Did not see it ending exactly like that. I had a feeling that Krang wouldn't make it out of this story but that was harsh. lol

If Ch'rell is half as nuts as he has been described, things are going to get VERY ugly when he comes onto the scene and discovers what has happened.

I'm also surprised by King Zenter's spinelessness and, in the end, his willingness to sweep an entire species out of his dimension to essentially let them be someone else's problem. What a jerk!

Anyway, this was an interesting story that definitely thrusts the series into directions I didn't completely see coming. I'm looking forward to how this all unfolds in the coming months. The TMNT are going to have a lot to deal with that's for sure.

Krang getting gobbled up by Leatherhead was the best part of the entire issue!!

i just don't feel like this story was really worth the double sized/double priced issue.
it felt very padded out and spread thin. especially the art in the very beginning.

at least there's a lot of promise for the upcoming story.
i'm actually MUCH more excited for what this conclusion is leading into!
