My "best friend" died for me

My best friend is a bologna sandwich named Bob. I was starving (I was also in Reno) and had to eat poor Bob. He was kinda stale. Now every Easter I'll remember that time in Reno when I had to eat my best friend Bob the sandwich. And, the sacrifice he made for me.

random things are not too bad, but i mean, it has to make some sense. and it has to come out of some kinda conversation, y'know.

I agree...a random comment can be funny, but it's no basis for starting up a thread. And admittedly I didn't think this one was very funny -- in fact, I'm not sure it could've been, given the gravity of the premise. Though it could've been an interesting commentary on the sad necessities and dark compromises of human life if Tetsu had detailed the extent of his relationship with Bob Sandwich such that it seemed like a genuine tragedy when he was forced to eat poor Bob.

I had a professor in college who talked about military training and how he was given a live chicken and sent out into the woods alone for a week or something. After a few days, the chicken became his only friend -- if you're familiar with chickens, you'll know that they can become quite good companions -- and though he was very hungry (the grain that he shared with the chicken was hardly adequate sustenance), he refused to eat and kill it. So one day he left the chicken in his tent and went off to hunt for food, but alas, he was unsuccessful...and he returned to the tent to find that his chicken pal had crapped all over the floor of it. Thus he strangled the chicken and ate well that night.

A truly depressing tale of the effects of military training.

the army: do you have to go or is it a place you can go if you want to in your place? in switzerland we have to do our service. but being blind on one eye helps to get away
