Hello! I´m a newbie...

I´m one of those thousands now-young-adults who grew up
with this stuff so there´s no need for revision of that story.

But here´s how I found them again...

Almost ten years had passed without a glimpse of the
turtles in my mind until one day when I was reorganizing my
videotapes, I found a tape which contained one old, worn-shown
episode of TMNT: The Invasion of the Punk Frogs.

Man, how it rocked! Reviewing one episode changed my life
totally. I turned my closets upside-down and searched
everything TMNT related I might have still had left. I found
few comics, old playing cards, and the first Leonardo
figure and its folded, scratchy card. A tears grew to my eyes
when I held him my hand. My aunt gave him to me when I was 6.
I noticed that the second katana sword was missing. The
moment was so touching.

I had found a world I lost over 10 years ago and I felt like I
had returned home after a long time. I´ll never again abandon
the turtles. Never.

During the following days I infiltrated my friends´ houses
and asked for everything TMNT related they might have
stored. I managed to get some video games, a few cartoons
and a bunch of old comics.

Then I hooked up the internet and went to ebay, to bid
on the original mirage comics, bunches of cartoons and
the movies. Finally I discovered the Thetechnodrome.com
and the fandom. One and half months have passed since
my rebirth and here I am, the same little boy I used to
be back in the beginning of the 90s, talking to folks who
are just like me...

Oh, well. I´d better shut my mouth before ya people get
bored to death!

Briefly:
---------
It´s me, Mikael, a true newly-born TMNT fan from Finland
where the sewer hatches are too heavy to lift, even for the turtles!
Happy to finally meet people who share my feelings!

Welcome aboard. I found my intrest again when i read there would be new tmnt movie and a show. I never really abandoned TMNT, I watched the movies atleast once a month...

Nowdays i still like the cartoon but it's too much comedy... It's still fun if you waych it in small doses(i tried 5 episodes per day and it got boring).

Good that you are collecting mirage. It is the original form of TMNT and without any doubt, the best form. I already bought whole volume 1 and one shots and specials.

Cool to see countrymen aboard!

Yeah, though I´ve just read about half dozen mirage comics I think too that they are the most definite and prosperous form of TMNT, after all that´s where it all began...

Wow, you got a complete 1st volume. That´s pretty nice. My lot of mirage is still in its way overseas, and even then i´m missing about twenty issues of the first Vol...

So which way in Finland you´re living in?

I´ll store fridge for my late appetite.

Hey, I could make a fortune with all these mangos! All I
need to do is to register myself with different usernames!
And soon I shall have a mango monopoly! Bwa ha ha!
Okay, maybe I got too excited...

Ah, yet another reborn-Turtle fan reaches our shores. Welcome, welcome, I'm sorry, but I have no mangos. If you want another, ask just about anyone, mangos seem to be plentiful here. Why, I don't know, they just are. You can't go two feet without tripping on one.

Gee, thanks.
I´ve visited those shops before, they both offer an awesome selection of
comics. Gotta start saving money for the next lot of Mirage...

Btw, do you have any idea when they´re going to release the
TMNT movies in Finland on DVD? I got mine from ebay, but I´d prefer getting Finnish subtitled Region 2 versions too.

I live in Kerava, about 30 kilometers from the capital to the north.

Im not sure if they are ever coming to region 2. And i dont need subtitles so i might buy the region 1 DVD. Problem is taht i dont have a DVD player, just PS2 wich dosent support other region DVD's. Maybe i should just biy that regionX thing for it...

Yeah, that´s what I´ve been thinking too.
It´d have been cool if those movie classics would have been
introduced to new generation audience here in our homecountry. I´ll manage too without subtitles, in fact, the turtle humour is lot more fun without them!

That regionX thing is kinda crappy, it removes the regional coding but
still plays NTSC discs black and white. I bought it so that I could watch
HK martial arts flicks, but no! I got nothing more than my eyes aching.

Welcome to the forums Mikael!

Funny enough I 'refound' the TMNT after getting bored one dark cold December night and deciding to search Yahoo.com for anything and everything I could think of.

That how I ended up here. *looks around* Although, thinking back on it, I'm not sure sure it was such a good idea
