The Crow discussion
Here's for all you Crow fans. You can talk about the movies, the tv show, the books, of course the comics, and the video game(yes there was a Crow video game) Anything Crow related.

I think the video game was for PlayStation. Salvation was excellent in my opinion. No where near as good as the original, but worlds better than City of Angels. I also didn't enjoy Stairway to Heaven turning Eric into some sort of guardian angel instead of an avenger. Eric had one purpose, to get his revenge and earn his peace. I also hated the magic make-up, the way they screwed up Albrecht's character, and the fact that the show always took place in broad daylight.

The Crow was a pretty good film. Twisted, but good.

I love the first movie, but I also love City Of Angels and Salvation. I don't know why most of you and a lot of other Crow fans seem to hate 'em so much. It's almost as if you guys are expecting it to somehow be just like the original again or something, I don't know.
I enjoyed the TV show, though I started to like it less as it went on. It just got a little too weird for me. I can't wait to see Wicked Prayer. Though I'm sure many Crow fans won't like it for whatever reasons, I'm sure I'll enjoy it. |

I blame City of Angel's suckiness on Vincent Perez (Ashe), his accent was awful. Also I hated the colors, Ashe's son (kid couldn't act for ****,) and Judah. Also, I really can not imagine Sarah growing up and becoming that woman. Aaaand the ending was ridiculous. Salvation fixed nearly all of those mistakes, and it was a lot more hardcore than both of it's predecessors. Oh yea, I'm excited for Wicked Prayer as well.

I have always been a fan of James O'Barrs the Crow. From the comic to the film, And even the comics that continued the mythos, The Crow kicks ass! I wasn't to fond of city of angels. I felt it should have been better, Salvation was good. I'm still waiting to hear more about Wicked Prayer.

last yr at wizard world 03 my g/f and i met james o'barr. man that guy is so sad.. heres my story
ok we were inline to get a pic drawn by him. he was selling new crow statues and they had several diff vers. well while he was drawing for my g/f, i looked at the stature real close and noticed that 1 eye was blue and 1 was green. i said that out loud and then o'barr started to talk to me for like 20 min. told me how the guy who painted teh stature was a tard and all the ppl who screwd him over. how he has no power in anything that has to d w/ the movies or even the printing of his comics. my g.f has a reprint of graphic novel vol 1. she showed it to him and 1 of the ppl that work w/ him and he was never told it was being reprinted. also if any1 else has noticed since the incodent w/ movie w/ and brandon lee dieing. all the pics he draws now of the crow all look like brandon lee as the crow. he doesnt draw the char like it used to be anymore. also as he was talking he was going itno extream detain and going over areas that he had just gone over 5 times b4. it was like he was just in a trans as he was venting all this stuff to me. it was awsome that i got to talk to him. i wish i could of talked more but thn he was like "oh i guess the pics done" handed it over.we said thanx and walked away.

Interesting that people seem to like Salvation better than City of Angels. I thought they both sucked -- whereas the first one was awesome -- but that Salvation was far worse than CoA. Whereas CoA actually looked kinda good, with the post-apocalyptic grunge environment and all of that, Salvation reeked of straight-to-video production values, not to mention the crappy look of the Crow himself. Oh, and I generally dislike Kirsten Dunst, who was only really great in one movie that I can think of. (Bonus points if you can guess it!)
I haven't seen tons of the series, but I kinda liked it... granted, it didn't have the whole dark vengeance angle, but it was still pretty cool. Reminded me of the good ol' days of the Highlander series (i.e. before it started sucking hardcore).

Man. James O'Barr is a man who has my sympathy. I hope that SOME DAY, this dude will find his peace.

And just for a note......the original Crow comic had the Crow with blue and brown eyes. I'm sure the stature was kind of a homage.
