Hello there, i've been looking at these Technodrome Forums for some years and now i've finally signed up! It's easy to say that The Technodrome Forums are the best TMNT forums on the Web!!
I've been a fan of TMNT since the first ever TMNT cartoon episode was shown in the UK on the BBC in 1989 ( I am sure that's the right year). As soon as i saw the first episode i liked it so much that i taped and kept, the next episode. I then went on to tape every episode that was shown on the BBC! It was all of the 88 and 89 seasons though, as the ridiculous BBC didn't show all those other seasons! I haven't seen the 90s seasons.
I think i did see the 87 Season years ago on video. I recently saw the first ever TMNT episode "Turtle Tracks", and it was a very good one. I can see why the 87 Season is regarded as the best one, because it has a quality better than most cartoons i've seen.
Although, the original TMNT cartoon wasn't the most consistant in quality, the early episodes and other serious episodes were more edgy and because of that, overshadows other cartoons that spurted toy crazes like the Power Rangers and Pokemon. I also felt that the background music gave the cartoon more of that cutting edge.
So you can see that i am an old school fan of the TMNT. The original cartoon is my no.1 cartoon of all time. I liked it because of different turtles, the villains Shredder and Krang, and the action. I liked the backgrounds so much of New York for their colour. Also, " Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" must be one of the most original cartoons names ever.
Despite being loyal to the original cartoon, i welcome and enjoy the new cartoon and the comics. I have bought a few TMNT comics but i still don't know alot about them. The first TMNT movie is one of my favourite movies, and although it's not the best movie of all time, it's still an above-average movie. I feel that the 1st TMNT movie is one of the most under-rated however, as it doesn't get the credit it deserves from the mainstream. But i'll keep that for another post!
