I was searching the web looking for stuff to buy with all the money I don't have and I ran into this
http://www.thinkgeek.com/cubegoodies/toys/6ad2/action/2107877/

Thought it was kinda cool that they incorporated the TMNT with something that has nothing to do with them. Plus it's an old school plush!

BTW I'm totally buying that fridge.... "buying".... .... ok... maybe stealing...
j/k

PLUS: I was in wal-mart the other day and the people in front of us was like a mom and her 2 kids. The 2-3 year old boy was buying a space leonardo, and it just brought back so many memories of when I was a kid. Since the original topic had really no significance I thought maybe everyone else could talk about their encounters with kids and tmnt today.

When I was a kid some kid told me "My Dad will beat me if you dont let me buy the that toy you have" I laughed at him and walked off. I bought my Slash toy and took joy in knowing I got the last one and that he didnt hahaha

 Kids will say the weirdest crap just to get what they want.

A mother and her little boy walked up next to me in the toy isle. They were looking for Turtles too. The little boy was trying to say Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It went a little something like this.

Momy, its tha teeny munna nini...
tenny munny...
ninny...
teeny munna nini tutties!

It sounded so cute! In the end he wound up with a Leo toy! :D

I feel so embarassed going in toy isle at Wal-Mart just to scope out the figures and see if they have anything I want. I mean, I'm a grown woman, people seeing that might think I'm immature or something. But I remember when I was a little girl, I dashed to see the figurines and didn't care about anything else. Those were the days. I wish I could have them back.

Heres a way to get around that.
A) Be like me and if anyways gives you crap tell them off
B) Write down a list of what you want and if anyone sees you in the asile looking at toys they will assume its for a kids birthday or something
I use A alot hahahahha espcially at check out those stupid clerks. But B works very well my friend collects gundam toys and thats what he does

One time an employee at Wal Mart told me i was a little old to be looking at toys so i pulled out a toy light saber and started making all those "WOOSH" light saber sounds and he got scared and ran off. Turns he got security and i got booted from the store, but it was worth it.

Thanks for the ideas.

A.) I could never do that, I'm the submissive type. I would prolly run out of the aisel, or use the excuse that B.) I'm checking it out for a little brother or something. I think I will use the list one.

Lol! You remind me a lot of my sister. She would be the type to do that if she was checking out the toys.

HAHAHAHAHA This one time in Wal-mart this little kid was running around with those Hulk gloves on and he punched my friend in the balls with them haha
This other time me and my friend bought Darth Maul light sabers and went to a premiere of Star Wars Episode 2. HAHAHA We dressed up too. I was Godzilla and he was a big Ape. We started battling witht he sabers and it pissed off the star wars fan and this dude dressed up like Obi-one jumped out of the line and tryed to battle us and then a car pulled up and Spock and a Klingon jumped out and attacked Obi-one. They beat the crap out of him it was funny as all hell. My friend has it on video at his house

:tlol: :tlol: Brilliant XD My friends and I have been caught playing hockey in the sports section...but the guy was just like 'here this is the puck that goes with it---don't tell my boss!' and snuck off!! XD

But I totally agree with Spitfire....SOOO much more fun to just not give a crap... when I went to raid Target for my Mikey plush I tore down the aisles squeeling at all the awesome stuff XD and sprinted to gush over the awesomeness that is the Mikey SPINNING SPRINKLER HEAD how cool is that!??! And when finally found the plush (it was the last one besides a Donny whose bo was stolen) I hung on to it for dear life from then till I got out of the store (with a slight pause to pay of course XD ). Toy aisle is THE BEST AISLE EVER...no reason to be ashamed of actually wanting to have fun, it's a lot better than being boring :P

Whenever someone gives me flak in the toy aisle, I just mumble something about being a collector. Then they as if I keep them in the packages. Hell, no! How am I supposed to play with them that way? :trazz:

On a side note, about five years ago I was in a Kaybee toy store when I saw some old TMNT toys in a clearance bin. I was digging through to find the whole set of whatever I was looking for and ended up asking a clerk to help me find the Rapheal from the set. We went back into the shelves to look for it and there were these two kids, about eight or nine, standing in front of where the clerk wanted to look. He said: 'Excuse me, boys, we're looking for Rapheal.' They both gave him a blank look and said: 'Who's Raphael?' I was like: 'What do you mean; who's Rapheal?!'

I'm too young to have a generation gap like that! Next they're going to say they don't remember ThunderCats or CareBears or--or-- New Coke. *pant* *pant*

And then this one time, at band camp . . . .

Nothing stops me from going into the toy isle. I've never had any incidents about it either. But in general, why should the opinions of complete strangers influence what anyone does or doesn't do (within limitations of the law, of course)?

Sometimes my friends and me go into the toy aisle and start laughing and making jokes about the toys. We saw this one toy it was a Mexican in a garbage can and his toy accessory was a burrito my friend and me fell on the floor laughing. It was from some show on the Disney channel. Then we saw some Power Ranger that was busted on the floor ad we picked its head up and started messing around with it. The people in the toy aisle were just staring at us and slowly moving them and their children out

Another thing you could do is go in late at night--around Midnight or later. All the uptight ass-clowns that frown on anything that is different than them are gone. Mostly it's just the employees and people doing late-night grocery shopping. And sometimes it's kids that really don't care who you are or what you're doing.

Of course, you would have to live near a store that actually IS open that late--like Wal-Mart.

I don't see what the big deal is. I used to make a big deal out of it and i'd have my little brother tag along and sometimes even make him hold the toy when we were checking out n' walk'n through wal-mart. Plus toy collecting is becoming a lot more "accepted" and common, mostly because people from our generation are growing up and remembering how much they loved "insert 80's property here" and need to get some nostalgia boosts (almost like a drug, but a lot more expensive...) But lately I've gotten a boost of self esteem, and I've opened my eyes to my surroundings. Seriously go to wal-mart and open your eyes, most of the people that shop at wal-mart are extremely weird. I feel like a celebrity when I walk into wal-mart, it's either
a.) infested with really old people that walk like .2 mph
b.) (no offense to anyone) loaded with foreigners
c.) loaded with socially messed up people (the guy that doesn't use deodarant, you know who I'm talking about.... that's the guy who goes to comic conventions too, man those places stink)
d.) finally, and i'm not sorry for this one, loaded with hicks and rednecks.
Funniest thing I saw in a wal-mart one time was a t-shirt for like a 5 year old that said "you know you're a redneck if..." and it listed all this stuff off. I wanted to buy it for myself but I couldn't fit into it (well maybe I could but it'd be like Will Ferrel from that SNL sketch with teh cow bell). It's almost like they're making fun of their main customer.

Key thing to remember is: They're more afraid of you than you are of them.... or is that like some type of animal or something?

Last time I went ninja turtle shopping, some little kid told me that Power Rangers were so much better. I proceded to swear at the kid and bolt out of the store. I guess I could have handled that one better, eh?

Two days ago I made a Marvel Legends run and was at wal-mart when i started talking to a guy who worked there about how they never restock. I ranted for 10 minutes then he just looked at me and said, "I work in automotive repair. We don't have anyone who works in toys." So I grabbed Silver Surfer and when I got home I noticed his right and left leg got mixed up but his feet were right, it's WEIRD.

That's my story.

Well, yeah, you could tell them that you're looking for a younger sibling or something. I used that one before.

(resists urge to sing Toys R Us song, hehe. ;) ) Being a grown woman myself, however, people automatically assume it's for my kids! Hehe. But, you know, not everyone would think you're immature for buying them. You'd be surprised the conversations that I've started by saying that they're for me! Sometimes, the cashiers have gotten all excited and started saying how THEY really like them too, and all that. :)

I've never seen porn in MY local Wal-Mart. Yours must be loaded with customers.

But seriously, I don't care who looks at me when I buy toys. I like the TMNT and I'll buy 'em at 2 PM if I have a want for it.
