Is it true that a second Baxter Stockman is being produced? I heard is in his human form.

Can someone please confirm me if this is true? :(

Cause I really want one,I don't like the current one.

The only Baxter model that Playmates has confirmed is that ugly hippie-robot-head only version (There is a picture of that one somewhere in the news section). But no real human one, unfortunately

playmates has said they plan to make a normal baxter at some point down the line. so don't worry to much I also don't see this line ending any time soon.
perhaps they will make a special baxter box with all the differnt baxters..that'd be nice but it's just wishfull thinking.

That's the first time I've seen Baxter's figure :o

Doesn't look anything like Spider Baxter, looks interesting through...

I wonder why they changed him so much.
What do you think playmates was thinking when they were sculpting the figure? :dead:

I think they were braindead.

Two words: "play value". Basically, the company thinks a crazy mish-mash of robot arms, guns, and pointy things has more play value for the kiddies than a guy in a labcoat.

Personally, I always liked my toys to look as much like the characters on the show as possible when I was a kid. The incorrect costumes and random bugs and snakes and such sculpted on the old toys really bugged me. Either I was just an odd kid, or Playmates is maybe making a flawed assumption about their audience. ;)

I'm not too impressed by the Baxter figure, anyway. I'd buy a regular labcoat Baxter in a heartbeat, but I have no desire whatsoever to own the one they're putting out.

What they should do is make a special Boxed Baxter fig like Inspector Gadget back in the 80s. Have the initial toy be Baxter in labcoat. But include all his resurrection forms. The toy can be taken apart (even coming with a special Baxter head with a black eyeglass lens) and reformed in different Baxter incarnations according to the show.

The entire package would consist of:
--Baxter Stockman
--Baxter's head with eyepatched lens
--hover chair
--large body armor
--spiderleg cybernetic attachment

It would sell for $19.95 or $24.95.

What do you think?

I'd definitely pick up something like that. Basically, a few different bodies (human body, hoverchair, big mech suit, spider) and a couple different heads to put on/in each of them. It'd make a nice boxed set, for sure, and I think would be a much more popular choice for the kids than the "Leo vs. T-Rex" set. However, it'd also be a lot more expensive to produce, being made up of all-new sculpts. I can see something like this being made eventually, but at the same time, I'm not holding my breath for it to happen any time soon.

At the very least, I'd like to see a regular labcoat Baxter released before too long.

You know ..I hated that too, as a kid I hated when the toy didn't resemble the cartoon version. And that happened alot back then. I know the toon has to be less detailed but sometime adding too much stuff in a figure can turn it lame (not alway though).
