Got a few spares out of an old box today and was comparing them with figures in my collection to compare what figures were in the best condition and I found 3 more variants I wasn't aware of.
Rat king: white bands same colour as rat/yellowed bands different colour from rat. Also brown wrapping on legs two shades of brown.
Leatherhead: Blue/grey patch on leg.
Breakfighting Raphael: Grey/black shell.
Also noticed the other day my MOC Mummy Raph has blue weapons as opposed to the purple ones Iv'e seen everywhere else.
And now I am aware of at least 2 variations for every figure from 1988-1989 and with dozens more throughout the line. Even Star Wars wasn't this bad for variations for the first two years of production.
So anyone else believe TMNt is the worst line for variations or is there a line much more worse.

Hmm, from what I've seen SW line is very bad with this type of thing. They are constantly changing their packages. If you check POTF2.com they have long lists of variations. I was surprised by all the variations on just one character in a particular series. I'd say it's harder to collect SW if you're a completist. I can't really say much about other lines since I've never bothered collecting variations for anything other than Turtles.

Do you mean variations on certain characters (Star Trek Turtles, Farmer Turtles, fat and Sassy Sumo Turtles...etc)? Cuz, it is the worst line for those.....

As far as variations of each character, I don't know about that...He-Man was pretty bad. Batman/Spider-Man is probably the worst, though. I mean, every wave of SM Classics has 4 new Spider-Mans. Hasbro's Batman Line (and Mattels, now) was mind-blowing.
As for production variations, TMNT is pretty heavy. But so is Star Wars. I've never been into collecting variations one way or the other, but I've at least heard about most of the Star Wars ones. Anymore, SW variations are more-or-less reissues on new cards. TMNT has more running changes like weapon positioning, etc. Honestly, I'd say it's a toss-up between SW and TMNT.
And I'm getting a headache thinking about it!

Oh no, The Batman and Superman lines, for some reason to beat Kilelr Croc Batman needs a Giant hook and bright orange spandex, and Superman needs a laser gun and space armor to fight Lex Luthor. Then comes Spiderman, especially with vehicles.

I meant variations as in production changes.

Oh, well I believe that Star Wars is still worse in the belief that they do ti on purpose. Think, The new version of Bespin Luke Skywalker, one version had blood paint and plastic peg and peg hole for the removable hand. Another had no paint detailing, sold for the same price as a variation, Then there was the blood and magnet peg variation, sells for $175 as opposed to the regular $6.99.

Meh... it's a toss up. At least they didn't warp those characters (save Spiderman) in any way.... Troll Turtles, anyone.... shudder...
