When i was a kid my fav was Rocksteady because he was a Rhino and i simply preferred a rhino than a warthog.
But hey, even though personality-wise, they're both dumb, mutant servants to Shredder and Krang, there is a difference:
Rocksteady gets the better lines, and has catchphrases, wheras i don't know if Bebop has any. Maybe his laugh, is his trademark?
Rocksteady says things like "Say your Prayers Toitles!

Bebop annoyed me Rocksteady is way cooler :D
How so? Bebop snorted every once on a while. It was hilarious. All Rocksteady ever did was growl.

They were always a funny team. I like the episode where their cleaning up that old warehouse and then Shredder gets zapped and thinks hes Mikey and Bebop and Rocksteady are tying to stop him hahaha

Rocksteady.I have a mutant rhino and warthog of my own, But if done in a serious manner, both Bebop and Rocksteady could have been realy cool.

I like Bebop only because he was voiced by Barry Gordon :P

Rocksteady, he was threatening when he had his helmet and his pants in the first season.
I think Bebop looked cooler. He had a better fashion sense than Rocksteady, IMO.

Rocksteady had that thing he did, it was a whiney "DEEEYOOOOOOO!!! I HATES YOUS TOITLES!!!" That always had me on the floor.
That's just about all I liked about Rocksteady.

im not sure where i heard it but when those 2 characters first came out..trouble was started by someone who thought it was racist to have the names bebop and rocksteady since thos are both musical styles originated by black people...
some people are just idiots

But only Bebop was black. :|
Well, he was the least intelligent of the pair. That could be construed as racistm, I guess. If you're a total jerkwad or something.
Man, I hate the racecard.
Bebop wasn't black as soon as he mutated.
Whoever thought that their names were a racial slur is an idiot. Bebop and Rocksteady was just a reference to music. "Rocksteady" as I recall is a hippie reference like, "Keep on truckin'"--"rock steady"--and "Bebop" is more of a feeling or movement to the music, like headbanging. DOO-WOP and HIP HOP are music styles, not "Bebop".
And they were unintelligent because they were uneducated thugs. No racial inference there.

I could possibly consider seeing it as racism had Bebop beem mutated into a crow or a monkey or something horribly offensive.
But that wasn't the case at all. I can't think of any racial slurs involving black people and warthogs...

Exactly. Shredder picked a rhino and a warthog because they can be vicious animals. The very idea of racism is ridiculous. Bebop and Rocksteady were merely goons and criminals. Their names were their gang names. That is all.
You really would think that some people enjoy being offended, and look for reasons to be offended. Racial slurs in TMNT is the stupidest thing imaginable.

I trust you weren't directing that comment to anyone here, am I correct?
No, I don't think so. But I agree, it's silly that all these groups spend all their time going through kids shows and movies for anything that can be blown out of proportion. They could be doing something useful.
But TMNT did know these people existed, hence why Baxter became white. They knew that if they had the only two black characters be bad guys, they'd get so many letters. *shakes her head*
They could have off-set it by having Burns be black or even Vernon. But I think the reason that Baxter was white was because a white mad scientist makes more sense and is more common.
KROW: "I trust you weren't directing that comment to anyone here, am I correct?"
You're right, I wasn't talking about anyone on the forums. I was talking about people who get easily offended by the stupidest things. As Kali has said, there are far more important things to be worrying about than whether a cartoon villain is black or white.
According to Erik Larson, a fat, lazy black character from "The Savage Dragon" comics was turned white when they made a Savage Dragon cartoon, as the network felt they shouldn't portray blacks negatively. That is ridiculous!

Yeah, there's gangsta rap to field that.

I think Baxter was changed cause well, look at him, he was a sniveling coward and shredder's bitch. Making him black acting like that woulda probably make the cartoon seem racist.

Hey, how did you get away with posting the word "bitch" without any stars?
EDIT: Wait a minute. What's going on? I thought this word was censored.

I always preferred Rocksteady and was kinda bummed when they weren't in TMNT 2,but I'm glad they weren't.
Btw,this has nothing to do with anything, but TMNT 3 was on Sci-Fi channel Sunday.
Funny,I never thought of TMNT as "sci-fi",although mutations, and talking turtles or whatever.....somethin'... :-?

Well, Sci-Fi used to have movie marathons for "kids". They'd show stuff like Johnny Quest vs the Cyborg Insects, The Jetsons: the movie, etc. TMNT the movie was always in the line-up as well. So they've shown it quite a few times before, but it's been years.

I liked Street Sharks some people didnt. Alota people looked at it as a Ninja turtles rip off. I also liked Mighty Max and Dinosaurs. The Stego in Dinosauras was voiced by the same guy who did Don in turtles :P
Shark tastes good with a bowl of turtle soup on the side.

Allow me to get us back on-topic again. I liked Rocksteady most. They're really best as a team, though. :D

I noticed Rocksteady had more self control than his partner. He was also alot more loyal to the Shredder and actually felt like a failure at times. Bebop was definitly more of a free sprit and he did whatever he felt like doing. On occasion though, these traits seems to flipflop between them.

Gah, I've avoided posting in this thread 'cause I'm not totally sure how to choose.
I guess I prefer Rocksteady. Every time I mention his name my brother laughs and repeats the name.
Rocksteady.
hA.
Anyways, yeah he does seem more loyal to Shredder and has more self control. Rocksteady seems more the type to cower first when Shredder confronts him. Bebop is too dumb to know how to react.
Bebop dresses cooler, Rocksteady has a more fun personality. I guess.

Bebop definetely had the better dress sense. Those glasses were cool-looking, i'd like to have them!
He always had them on, but rarely he would raise his glasses when he was a little shocked, and you'd see wide, white eyeballs staring out. But you never saw him without the glasses. It conveys an element of mystery about him, even if he's really so dumb that he can't keep anything secret.

Did you do that yourself? It's got a great aura about it, like there's sexual undertones there!

I voted for Rocksteady. I like both him and Bebop, but I find Rocksteady to be more funny than Bebop and more of an idiot. I liked watching Rocksteady more than Bebop as a kid, and still to this day. I also liked him pre-rhino.
