Most Emotional Moments In TMNT Universe?

The TMNT are usually action and comedy but they do have emotional or touching moments. So people who think it's all violence, then that's stupid.

The moments are rare in the cartoon, but from what i've seen the original cartoon with it's music made more of a splash at it than the new one.

One emotional moment is when Splinter is captured in the Technodrome, in the 87 Season and the turtles find him stranded at the ceiling looking distraught. What makes it quite emotional is the big, long music note, which is very simple but stirring emotionally.

In "Turtles, Turtles Everywhere", there's a surprisingly touching moment when Michaelangelo sheds a tear at the end.

Has anyone cried while watching the turtles as well?

Well, I'd be hard pressed right now to think of the most emotional mometn (seeing as how I just got up, hehe ;))

But... I have to say that I think that the new cartoon is much more emotional than the old one. The new one is much more... family oriented for the turtles. In the old one, they never (or rarely) called each other 'brother', Splinter actually called them his 'friends' in one episode. In this new one, they're a family. That brings up alot more chances for emotional storytelling, I think.


... And now I gotta go think of an emotional part.

The only one that I got really worried about in the old toon was during the Red SKy episode where Dregg drained the life energy from the turtles and they were basically dieing.

But yeah for the new toon there are plenty of moments where things can get emotional.

Well in the old toon... that would be in the Red Sky episodes, when the Turtles and Shredder and Krang are about to be drained of their power by Dregg..
Moreover, each time the Technodrome was about to get free and we could hear a special music which was often played at the end of each episode (this theme disappeared after season 7 :/)

Specifically:
in the movie, Splinter's lecturing him, he just barely starting to.
And in the new toon...Tales of Leo...

I just wanna hug 'im allllll up....

And Raph proves he isn't ALL hard ass jerk when he recovers in movie1 and Leo's all apologising, Raph's like dont bother ...well you guys know it. That's like as Donnie says, A kodak Moment.

What makes the new show so damn good is all the emotions...if yer REALLY into it, you can feel it. That bit when Leo leaves Splinter to go join his brothers...r when they're reuinited with Splinter. I can feel Raph's anger at times. I so love the new show.
I never remember anything really emotional in the old show, it was all too corny. I never saw the Red Sky stuff cause I got sick of it and I started bus driving then next thing I knew it was off the air and TNM came on...I puked(jk) and waited some more until something cool came around and finally it happened and we hve the best cartoon around .. im rambling.....

Movie1-the Shredder and Splinter scene ): Raph on top of the house yelling "SPLIIIIINNN-TEEEEEEEEEEEER!" And as Buslady mentioned, Raph's teary moment ;___; that one used to almost make me cry, that and the bathtub because Leo was soooo cutely excited that he was okay ;_____; so sweet. When Raph is thrown through the window ;_________; April looking back on the apartment in flames.

Can't think of any in 2 or 3... maybe Don's 'there's just got to be more to it'

The new series is overflowing XD As mentioned, Tales of Leo. Leo getting thrown through the window all beat up ;___; Mikey's super defensiveness about his comics.

Sure it's emotional but I don't think they did it well. I couldn't feel their loss. Wasn't Splinter their dad? Jeez, none of the boys really showed ANY feeling, IMHO...that was wrong. Sure Leo, one little tear...but that's nothing.

True but I think a lot of them didn't want to break down in front of their other brothers. I am sure Splinter lectured a lot through out their lives about the time he would leave them and probably told them to be strong.

Yep, that's what I thought....Not to mention they're trained in ninjitsu so they've been trained to control their emotions.

For the new cartoon, I'd say episodes 17-19 (The Shredder Strikes back and Tales of Leo). From the Leo fighting through the army of Foot ninjas, to the antique shop fight when Leo musters up all his strength to get up and push the bookcase between Shredder and Splinter, to the flashbacks. Definitely some of the more emotional moments of the series. I'm still waiting for TMNT to have a moment that hits me like the last scene of the last episode of X-Men (1993-97) or in the last episode of Spider-Man (1995-98 ) when Uncle Ben is alive in an alternate reality and talks some sense into Spider-Carnage, who destroys himself not too long after.

yeah.....u see rahpie tear up in that...it' pretty emotional....but i still like the anger lecture from the very first of the movie. and with all the talk of the death of splinter...mikey would put on a front and cry when alone....remember what he did when donny asked him what he thought about what splinter said "about you know what it would be like....u know...not havin' him?" mikey just srugged it off..."3 bucks off"

i remember those too.....i think the "Graduation Day" end scene was the better one though......i almost cried when Prof. X told his X-men what he thought of them....what they did to make him proud.....

I felt that Raph was the closest to Splinter father/son-wise in the first movie. But Leo was the most loyal. I liked when Raph hugged Splinter at the very end of TMNT 1 while the rest of them victory danced. It kind of showed that Raph matured in that moment.

Yeah I LOVE the screen cap i have from that, when he first gives him a hug...it's a true blue, from the heart, emotional, happines laden hug. I love that.
Then like ya said, they're whooping it up and he goes back to Splinter and takes his hand, looked like he was telling him something then hugs him.

yeah mikey is the one who blubbers....but raphie ain't exactly dryeyed.....he does cry.....after the whoa type look....at the very end of the scene.....he has tears in his eyes....or does he.....u'r right buslady.....but i could have sworn they zoomed in on raph and he was teary eyed also

There are alot of things in all of the TMNT universes that are full with empathy. I've seen a lot of things that made me cry or emotional in TMNT. However, what really upsets me the most are:

Mikey went blind from an explosion in the Archie comics and then gets tortured by the government after he's captured and put in a cage like a wild animal. The front cover really makes me cry by just looking at it. What really is cool, though, is that even though the scientist had tortured Mikey, Mikey still rescued him. I don't see any of the others doing that, especially Raph? As good and loving as Mikey is, he always gets the butt end of everything... He's always being or getting hurt by something or someone. Even his own brothers hurt him. Dudes and Dudettes, I love Raphael with all of my heart, however it makes me upset at times to see him treat Mikey SO badly. I know he loves him and that Raph is hurting... The truth is, all of them are hurting. All of them... They just handle it in their own different ways is all. Raphael just chooses the negative and unhealthy way of expressing it (I'm a Mikey and a Raph combined... I should know). Usually the ones who are always optimistic and seem so possitive are actually the ones hurting the most...and not to mention they often do crack up... come undone... go mad... etc. etc. etc. because they can no longer hide their pain with their smiling mask and the pressure is just too much. If anyone turns bad, I still think it will be Mikey... Because of what I had mentioned and because he's the one who's unexpected to go mad and then turn bad. That's what my fic SILENCE is all about.

Another is when Slash died. *cries* That... It's SO horrible! :cry: It makes me cry! (he's going to be in my Green Fatale fic in the future)

i can't believe i forgot those......slash's death was very noble and very sad....and i remember a little about mikey's blindness.....not to much....i read the comics when i was like 10....and now i'm 20....so....but i do distinctly remember Slash's sacrifice.....and that is a very moving moment in TMNT history....
I don't know if this counts but what about the mutimals' death a few issues earlier....they were a crossover but it's still pretty sad.

1. Raph shedding a tear after reminiscing about his child hood in "Tales of Leo"

2. In "The Shredder Strikes Back, part 2", as Shredder is about to get the best of Splinter, a near-unconcious Leo musters up all his strength to get up and push the bookshelf to save Splinter and promptly collapses as Splinter looks over to him and says "My son" with a look on his face as if he were about to cry.

3. "Secret Origins, part 3", as the Utroms are about to leave, Mortu hands Splinter a device and Mortu tells Splinter that Hamato Yoshi was the greatest Guardian to ever serve the Utroms, and Splinter shed a single tear.

The estrogen in my head makes me constantly under an emotional roller coaster. However, my top three have to be these ones:

1) RtNY pt. 3--that part right after Leonardo jumps out the window. God, I was going to cry--my sister was there, though. To me, that one scene really stuck out because it showed that they were family. It was a very selfless scene, and Leonardo even shed a tear! Of course, when he came back and Splinter wasn't there . . .made me freak out a little. :o

2) TiS pt. 5--when the transmat was broken and the Fugitoid wanted to be destroyed. That would have to suck--what if you could never come back home?! And the turtles had friends back home, too! I would not have done well in that situation.

3) Tales of Leo--This episode? Yeah, hard to watch. It got a little bit into the gagometer (too sappy), but it did have that underlying element to it that the turtles would be crushed if their family was divided. So, that's why it's no. 3.

Yeah, I know it's all from the New Toon. But those ones really stuck with me.

I love all the emotional scenes mentioned from the new toon, there's just so many of them! BTW, for the old toon, what eps were the Red Sky eps? Are those the ones that are on DVD? I know I said earlier on this board that I was disappointed with the old toon, but I've watched more of it and have grown to like it ( the new show is still unlimitedly better though! :D ). I'm trying to watch as much of it as possible, I wish they'd show it on the tube again!

They only put like some of the red sky episodes on the TMNT DVD that had some old show episodes but these weren't the BEST red sky episodes because they mostly dealt with Dregg. Sometimes you can find the videos on ebay or ur best bet is to try mIRC thats where I got all my red sky episodes.
