Great oogly moogly!

I was just at a Toys R Us in Downers Grove and they had in stock, a box set of "Swat Turtles."

I've never heard of these, but included in the set were Donatello and Leonardo in SWAT gear (basically just repaints of the Fightin Gear Turtles, 6 mousers, and the SWAT versions of the Battle Shell and Pogo Copter.

It looked really cool! It was going for $50 and I didn't want to spend that much money. Have any of you guys ever heard of it?

Ok I don't know when I'm gonna go to this TRU next....just cuz it's not the one I usually go to and they were fresh out of any normal figures, all they had were a bunch of vehicles and the mutations and the ninja actions, but once I get the chance I'll try and go to the store and take pictures?? Lol that isn't legal is it...

Oh yeah, and any help from any TRU workers on the forum here, when do new shipments usually arrive? I've been trying to figure that out for the longest time now.

I remember seeing pics about a mouser 6 pack, so maybe this was what it was leading up to...I definitely want to buy this set now though. The mousers are different than the ones that came with April, these ones have a dark shade of midnight blue to them and they look very sleek. It goes along with the whole SWAT theme.

It wasn't a bootleg or anything, if that's what you mean.

It followed the standard packaging that all TMNT products by playmates come in.

the ninja turtles website has a list of the items in their toy catalogue, but it doesn't have EVERYTHING that's out right now, like claw shredder or dr. malignus

you could argue that those figs aren't out yet, then why are the deep divin out? i think i've only seen one person on the boards so far who have claimed that they've seen the deep diving, otherwise no word has been heard

I wonder if this is supposedly the exclusive repaints that the US was supposed to get. The UK got the Commando turtles (http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&productId=109704), and we got the Swat turtles. I wonder how close they look to the UK releases. And shoudl we expect the other two turtles with a Swat version of 2 of the other small vehicles? :)

Well, I could still buy that Swat Turtles set as I don't think I have any of the toys in the set, so for me it wouldn't be like buying duplicates.

But having 40 dollars left over to buy lotsa mousers seems like an increasingly more attractive idea. :evilgrin:

You were that kid in the 1st grade that told me there was no way I could jump from the jungle-gym without breaking my arm, weren't you? ;)


With the way TMNT has been going, I don't think case assortments should be much of a concern for anyone. Even the figs like Stonebiter/Razorfist that were originally one-per-every-two cases are very findable now. Playmates seems to have distribution down pretty good...if the Mousers are packed even at 2 per case, within a month of their release, you could probably do that without any trouble.

Just make sure I've found my Mousers first before you start hording all of them :P


Edit: Oh, yeah...S.W.A.T. Turtles. Anybody have any pics yet? With the way TRU is going (down hill, QUICK), I doubt they'd care if you took a picture. ;)

I agree, the darker jungle green is more foreboding and mysterious than the green used on the original Battle Shell and Pogo Copters.

Also, I don't know if it was meant to be like this in the original releases, but in here, the two vehicles "interact" with each other - the battle shell has a designated landing pad for the copter on its roof.

I must have that! The armor is clever. Leo's helmet, Don's chest armor, Mike's arm armor and Raph's leg armor. They do look SWAT. They even turned the Shell Sub into a helicopter! Hah that is so awesome.

:o Up until now I was just writing this set off as pointless repaints... but now I must have it. I don't have the Battle Shell or Shell Sub anyway, so they'll be new, and you can always use more Mousers, especially repainted ones, to add more variety to the army. The Turtles I don't really need, but then they don't really bother me much either.

That set is absolutely brilliant, repaints, but ones which are actually worth buying.

Damn that's cool! and the colors are great. I wish Mattel was as inventive as this with redeco MOTU stuff. I really like how they have the shell sub turned into an assault chopper with bits from the pogocopter and foot gunner :o I'd buy it if it wasn't fifty bucks :( Drop the figures and I could see spending $35, but not $50!

1) I don't have the Battle Shell.
2) I don't have that helicopter/submarine vehicle.
3) I don't have the battle-armored versions of either of those 2 turtles figures.

Still, as I don't have lots of room I might not get it & just buy mousers 6-packs like crazy. :lol:

Well, probably because it's just a rehash vehicle. It's parts of the sub and parts of the pogo copter. They probably don't feel a need to.

i found it!!!! to day was a good day to go to tru for me.....i found marvel legends Juggernaut and cable (later put cable down and got the swat turtles and juggie instead) they also had the fantastic 4 box set.....which i want sooooooo bad.....i'll go back tomorrow hopefully they'll have the set still and the rest of the marvel legends.....didn't want a total toy overload all at once....
i must say i like the set.....my only problem is the turtles.....i never liked the face skulp of the fighting gear turtles....or i would have bought them to kinda replace my wave 1 turtles....they ar articulated well...i like the double pivot ankle....but i can't get over the head...and the had's though they close rather well into a fist...can't hold a weapon at all.... the vehicles rock!!!!! i love the battle shell though i wasn't gonna get it....didn't think i needed it....but now i can't see how i got along with outit.... and the swat copter.....which if u take of the propeller could still be the sewer sub.....a swat sewer sub.....is freakin' sweet...hehehehe.....i'm as happy as a little girl now......can't wait to actually sit down for play time!!!!!

You might want to try looking at different TRUs...I know my local one that I usually go to didn't have it, but I went to one in the next town over and they had a lot. Maybe it'll just take some time for them to hit all of the shelves, just like the new wave.

Just to let anyone in Canada know, I found this set in Vancouver, BC today. Priced at $59.99can. Looks really nice in package. But I can't justify the money for it. I do wish I could buy just the copter tho. :o
