View Full Version : What was your hardest toy to get to stand up?

For me, it was the original Shredder (naked umpire) because his legs are so weird. Movie Star Rahzar came a close second though followed immediately afterwards by movie 3 april and then series 2 april.

the new foot ninjas. I don't see why they feel the need to make them without flat feet!!!

agreed....the new foot soldiers aren't very easy to stand up, but it's still a cool figure nevertheless

my old foot wont stand worth crap
and my Breakfigthin' Raphael wont stand wither
i think the plastic warped in my toy box
the new foot stands a lot easier than Chrome Dome

well, my chrome dome hasn't had both legs for at least 8 years, so I didn't count that but now that you mention it, I do remember him being a hassle...
New Foot Soldier and Extreme Commando Raph. Raph isn't happy wearing Leo's armour at all, and he just won't stand up straight!

I don't about anyone else but my Casey Jones from the new series doesn't stand up at all.

How? He has flat feet and his legs are pretty much straight...
I think the Stretch Turtles were probably the hardest...

He is heavier on one side.
For some reason, not only did my old school Shredder keep falling down, but my Krang fig wouldn't either. I put it in that little bubble bot with the At-At legs and it kept tipping over. But then I put the robot arms on and it was fine.

I have to balance Krang by putting his arm's down low. Old Shredder and New Foot Ninja are a hassle too.

My old Ace Duck figure (http://www.x-entertainment.com/archive/quickies/20/index.shtml) was impossible to stand up straight unless I propped him up using his own wings... and the new Foot Soldiers is also almost impossible to stand up on its own...
...on a "non-TMNT" sidenote, my Earthworm Jim figure (http://www.figurerealm.com/Galleries/EarthwormJimPlaymates.html) was probably the most frustrating toy, because I could get him to balance just perfect, but a good stiff breeze would always topple him over on my shelf...

yep, that new foot ninja has the worst equilibrium in my entire action figure collection, i thought it was faulty until this thread, i have him posed leaning on Hun

These are all the figures that were hard to get to stand: Shredder, somtimes bebop, slash, slam dunkin don, shell slamin mike, shell kickin raph, midshipman mike, chromedome, sometimes all the movie star turtles, and thats it I think

this isnt a turtle toy, its a knock off transformer of devil gigatron. and his feet are so loose that. I had to tape his feet to my bookshelf to get him to stand. that also goes for most of my spawn toys.

My Wyrm and Space Usagi are drunk and always fall over. Thats why I have they in vechiles and my Splinter(From the movie 2 line) well he always falls off the shelf. He seems to do it when Im not looking evrytime. maybe my toy wants to commit suicide

Maybe casey and ralph like to tick each other off and fight on my shelf, who knows
What bothers me is that sometimes they knock down other figures too :x
My 2003 Foot soldier has to be leaned up against the shelf. Some of the others can stay standing, until a good breeze comes by.
True story: Back a few waves ago I had placed my new Foot Tech Ninja at the back of the shelf, and Leonardo was near the front. (The others were placed in various positions around the shelf.) One afternoon I noticed they were both gone. Both of them had fallen onto the floor. I understand how Leo might, since he was at the front, but the Foot Tech? From the very back of the shelf? So I picked them up and noticed that they were locked together, like they'd been fighting. :o Still haven't figured that one out.

lol i can't say that i share the same feelings that you guys are experiencing...that would be pretty creepy though if your toys came alive while you slept at night...although then again it'd be cool if they were like your guardians or something :P

I am kidding of course. My cat recently knocked down my MOTU and SW figures. SW figures have such little feet that it's easy for them to fall over. :x I wanted to start photographing my army of Foot Ninjas to post them here. I was about to finish putting the last one in place, then one of them falls over and causes all the others to fall too. I spent all that time arranging them for nothing...

Hmmm...not many problems with the old figures for me, the new Foot Soldier isa pain in the butt & the Battle Gear Don figure- oh my god. He can't stand up at all. It's impossible to do. WHY did Playmates give them such abnormally large holes for their feet? If the holes were smaller I could use other stands to have them stand up. Maybe I should just drill 2nd holes for 'em? :-?
Kali's story proves toys really come alive when you're not looking. :D I've had that happen a few times as well.
Well that's can't be possible in my room. I have so many toys if they all moved it's sound like grand central station upstairs. :D
So needless to say all my figures are going stir crazy & will flip out at me once to leave so they can move. ;)

a little non-TMNT toy ranting
I've also been collecting some japanese toys based off of anime shows, and other than the realization that a lot of japanese toys are cheap pieces of junk (other than the Trigun: Planet Gunsmoke figures, which are friggin awesome and put the McFarlane Toys version of Vash the Stampede to shame), there is one toy in particular that frustrates the hell out of me...
I bought the figure of Haruhara Haruko from FLCL (http://www.animequest.com/animequest/fukuhahaacfi.html) a while back, and not only was it fairly dinky in size (not as small as the oldschool 80's G.I. Joes, but still small), but her damn arms keep falling off!! And to add insult to injury, she absolutely will not stand up on her own. Thankfully she comes with that Vespa shooter of hers, so I just prop her against that...
the Kanti (http://www.animequest.com/animequest/fukukaacfi.html) figure on the otherhand can stand on his own pretty well, but he has so many points of articulation that I usually pose him sitting in a "lotus" position, like a robotic Buddha... he sits in between my Skeletor and my Buddy Christ, acting as the pivotal balance of technology between good and evil...
I love getting philosophical with my toys...

Casey Jones has been pretty easy for to stand up.Especially in my TMNT Lair Playset. The Foot Gunner's legs move clockwise or counterclockwise which is kinda silly. He falls down sometimes.

For me:
The chick from Movie III Mickey had a crush on...Mitsu? She's always falling over while holding her bow.
April (Movie III) isnt the best either.

OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH my God :o that Casey Jones fell off the shelf AGAIN and the dog ate his golf club and chewed his bat I am about to faint .................................................. ........now I need to buy a new one :dead:
I can't get the Foot Ninja to stand so I put him in my closet.
Not a TMNT but an X-men Storm figure I can't get her to stand for the life of me. The figure has a lot of hair and her hair is heavier than her body so she falls all of the time.

Has anyone thought of using something like Super Sculpty, Fimo Clay or a sort of putty that doesnt shrink to make little stands for their vertically challenged figures? :)

I just wish Playmates hadn't used some new-size peg holes for their figures. If they kept'em at the standard size, normal figure stands would work. Guess some of those people who make & sell figure stands should get crackin' on ones for the new TMNT 'eh? :-?
