Turtles on Vh1

Don't know if this has already been posted but, Vh1's new show " Totally Obbsessed" shows how pop culture influences our lives. According to one of the previews, TMNT was one of their subjects. It showed a lady saying that Mikey was her favorite turtle and showed her wearing a Michalangelo costume. I have no idea when that particular episode will premier, but will definatly watch it.

I don't have cable, so I've never seen this show, but from what I've heard it's not a show you want to be on. At Comic-Con we saw this "Cat Guy" who was on the show and he was rather disturbing (though he seemed friendly).

The kind of obsession they seem to feature on this show is not healthy obsession.

Brinatello, Lisardo and I have been talking with Ivey on the phone for some time now and we knew all about the VH1 appearance she's doing. It's got me really excited to watch.

Kazari, I wouldn't worry about her talking about you. That'd be kind of irrelivant to the subject of the series.

Yeah, judging by how VH1 edits, and how long the segment would be, I doubt her mentioning anyone would have any relevance to the story, unless those people are actually interviewed too. Besides, there was lots of footage taken, and it all has to be squeezed into just a few minutes. Ah, the joys of editing!

if you look at vh1.com and look for the pictures on the show 2 of her prized ninja turtle possesions are the leonardo and michelangelo heads from ninja turtles 3 its kind of creepy cuz they are the actual heads, eyes and all sitting on the floor simply staring at you. check it out

They said the sixth turtle because they included Venus DeMilo as being the fifth. Even though she was erased from Peter, the Next Mutation is still available in stores and fans have kept her in their universes. Michele (which they misspelled her name!) said she never mentioned anything about being a sixth turtle, in fact, there's a lot of that stuff that's not true. As for CBS This Morning, she turned down the offer, so if anyone was planning on setting a tape, don't worry. She doesn't want to miss time from work to do it. I can't judge the show now since it hasn't aired yet, but I hope it doesn't exploit her in a bad way. It could go either way.

I think it is really cool that Michele Ivey is on Vh1 supporting ninja turtles fans (like myself). Now, I am really dissapointed in myself. :tcry: I like other people are trying so hard to be the ultimate fan. Still I like her collection. Its a nice collection, she must own all of the vintage line. Thats cool. I think that is cool that she likes Michaelanglo, cause I like Michaelanglo. Most people say that he is the stupid one, and they like Don. It is cool that she wears the mike mask. In fact I want to see all the showings on Vh1, because I believe it going to be nice to see a real ninja turtle fan on television. All I can say is I can't wait. :twink:

I saw it, they didn't make fun of her really, although it was sort of implied to make fun of her... It was kind of a weird interview thing, didn't really hold much meaning, and it sort of made me feel dorky too.

But yeah, Ivey was telling me about this too. She doesn't post here on this board becuase she doesn't have the time. Ivey is only on Neil's NTN forum.

After I saw the ads on the VH1 site, I thought she was the most sane sounding one fo the bunch. The others were kind of creepy. But oh well, being on TV nowadays is a sure bet way to get fame. Just ask any of those folks who's been on those reality shows! :wink:

Unfortuantley, I don't have cable/satellite TV though. I heard from Ivey she is going to make an encode of the taping of this show to make available to others who missed it. Same thing goes for the TV commerical.

I sat and watched it, taped the whole episode actually to give the tape space between Ivey's segment. It was pretty cool; her parents are hysterical. I've met them in person and think they're as normal as any mom and dad. I don't think this clip will hurt her and make viewers think she's a freak. Now, if she said things like she wants to become a real life ninja turtle, as in altering her body from human to reptile, then that's the extreme obsession! The other clips were just ridiculous. Not the Dukes of Hazzard guy because he only seemed to love the show and the General Lee quite a bit, including a recreation of a death-defying stunt done in one of the episodes. Um, not too bright, but that's cool. But, the guy with the 900+ needles in his body! Okay, when I was little, I used to play with needles like that. I'd stick one in my finger and watch it slide across my skin. It fascinated me. But, then I GREW OUT OF IT! Good lord, now that's a freak! And the Mother Goose lady? Well, I don't know what goes through these people's mind, but she's obviously happy with her 'children.' She kind of reminded me of the Cabbage Patch parents, which that alone seemed like a joke! That was on Monday's episode, by the way, with the family who was raising a Cabbage Patch Kid as a real kid!

So, all in all, Ivey's clip was quite entertaining. And that's my opinion. :)

Anyway, I watched the Ninja Turtle ep and thought they made her look bad. Of course she didn't make herself look very good when she started singing that song. She's got a good voice and I thought she was really cute acting when she kept talking about Mikey ( I hear ya sister! I love Mikey too! :D ). I wish they showed her collection rather than focus on making her look bad, I was looking forward to seeing her ninja turtle stuff. And I loved her Mikey costume, did she make it herself or is that one you can buy in stores?!

I don't even know if the Krang here is the one I knew in the past so that is not the reason I am not here. Though I've heard more than enough about this board over all the others, of friends being hurt here, and people just over reacting about stuff. Besides for that, it's not like I just go around finding every board and jumping onto them... I mainly hang out at the one place that I started hanging out online and that is TMNT-L, moved from mailing list to message board... it is still TMNT-L.

About the show, I am ADHD so I am hyper active... so they used that for the image they were trying to protray of me. If you'll like to know more on my words on the show and how wrong they got stuff, please feel free to check out the message board on vh1.com there is an area for Totally Obessed, and I talk there. I don't really jump around talking about this in too many places because really this is no big deal to me... it's something that was done for fun, that a friend of mine asked me to do. I'm just another fan like anyone else, so I'm not going all around the web saying "HEY EVERYONE THAT WAS ME! DID YOU SEE ME?!"

A good example of this is that this show stuff started in Feb. With Phone calls. They filmed it on June 5th, 6th, and 7th. And not one word came to the internet, till after the TV ads started and people started to ask about me. Friends tell me of areas where I'm being talked about, so I do read... but I try not to come out unless I have too, or there's something I really want to comment on.

After reading in what direction this was about to lead too, I felt I needed to step up. The stuff that happened between Roseangelo and I happened long ago, and doesn't need to be public or the worry of anyone else. Unless she wants to bring it that way, if she does I will stick around to make sure both sides are heard equally. Other than that, I perfer not to talk on subject to degrade anyone.

Tis ok, you got the view that VH1 was going for. They wanted to have fun with the story and they did. I even got a lot of laughs out of it and kicking myself for doing some of it. Hehehe Though all in all it was fun... just gotta remind myself to never sing on TV again. :lol:

I missed it but it's going to be on again Saturday at 6pm I think so I will try to watch or tape it then. I saw part of an episode featuring the crazy guy and the cabbage patch kid. That was very disturbing.

Heh no need for that I am just another fan just as many of you are... I know many TMNT fans who wear their TMNT shirts, talk TMNT and enjoy TMNT as much as I do. Only difference is a friend of mine told me to email the show and I did.

I agree about the TMNT community. I've had a fan club type thing going on for a few years now, every now and than we hold boths at conventions and stuff... but it's called "United Turtle Fans" because really, we are a big group of people who really enjoy the Turtles. Together we stand!

*blink* I'm glad you over came that fear... people shouldn't have to fear what they enjoy. If there's one thing I've always stood up for is people just being themselves... no matter what. I never stopped following what ever I cared about, and I encourage my friends to do the same. Enjoy life and the few pleasures that comes with it.
