I think I probably like the first movie the best, just cuz I have more fond memories of it than the other 2 I think. My 2nd fave is the 2nd movie cuz when I first saw it I wanted to be JUST like Keno lol, and I never really fell in love with the 3rd movie for some reason although I do like it, just not as much as the other two.

what about you guys

I like the first one first because it had the best story of course the Part II second because I like the suits best in this one and best poster but VANILLA ICE JEEZ, And the third one last becuase it just kinda sucked it was lousy the costumes sucked and this was the only one I saw in the theater but at 4 yrs you just don't know. :)

The first movie by far, it's Pete's favourate as well, it simply captures the comics PERFECTLY

TMNT II is pretty good as well, three is just pathetic...

They go in order for me: Movie 1, Movie 2 and Movie 3. I always loved Movie 1 when I was little. Movie 2 was okay but more geered to kids and I didnt really like Vanilla Ice! Movie 3 was okay but could be better..get rid of the dumb costumes! LOL

Well, the first is the best, then the second, and finally the third.. but this wasn't a question of which is the best, but rather which is our favorite.

The first is high on my list because, as stated, it's the best.

The second is pretty well just as high because it's almost as good, and because it's shown the most (like on HBO and such) I've watched it more times.

The third... well, I have a love of all things involving time travel, so even though it isn't as good as the other two, it gets a boost to about the same position as them as far as favoritism goes.

Move 1, is the best. Raph is awesome...I've said a billion times, Josh Pais was brilliant with his performance & voice work.

and ehh the others were cute too..

I really liked the second one best, personally. Then the first, and then the third.
And yes, before I get questions about my AV change, it WAS inspired by Kazari. You rekindled my love of SWAT Kats. *huggles T-Bone*

lol

buslady you are too cute with your infatuation with Raph. he is my 2nd fave turtle after Leo.

actually one of my favorite aspects of the movie was the relationship between Leo and Raph and their bittersweet rivalry. at first they fight with each other but deep down there is that bond of brotherly love between them (as in the bathtub scene). "It's a Kodak moment." lol

When I first saw that movie...

I laughed with Mikey. I cried with Raph. I contemplated with Donatello. I followed Leonardo.

I just try not to sound like a certain Venus obsessive hehehe...

i know it's pathetic to judge a trio of movies by how Raph is portrayed heheh

That's so beautiful! I must remember that! :)

My favorite for a long time was part II. But now that I'm older, I like part I just as much! Yup, that's right! I love part I and II equaly. :D

They're awesome in there own ways. Part I because it was so true to the Mirage comics. Also it had so much mixtures of emotions in it.
Part II because it was so damn entertaining! The turtles' looks were the best in part II too!

I never cared much for part III. It didn't tickle me the right way. Also the way the turtles look in part III (especialy Leo) just make me want to gag!

My favourite movie has always been the seco9nd one, mainly because I feel the turtle costumes and faces had a more nautral flow to them (Plus they looked so cute) I like the comedy as well.

Next would have to be number one and then last but not least 3. I didn't like the costumes and I thought the story could have been done better.

Today I managed to get the 2nd and 3rd movies (uncut versions) on double DVD. So now I have all three movies on prerecorded vhs, DVD and traped off the television and each recording is different!

I LOVED 1 but my mom threw out the tape (well, it 'mysteriously disapeared' after she complained much about it) so I could only watch it when I went to my friend's house (it became a tradition ;) ) but then I moved so I had no one to leech 1 off of ;_; But I got 2 and 3, 2 definitely being over 3. 3 just didn't have the same heart and I didn't relate to the comedy as much, plus..yeah...the costumes. Well, the guys costumes anyway...the other stuff was pretty good. I also didn't paticularly like Walker's dumb sidekicks. Shredder's sidekick was dangerous...those guys were just...dumb ;p

So 2 ended up being my favorite for a long time, then I found 1 on DVD and the emotion in it is fantastic. The comedy isn't quite as strong as 2 but it's so much more real and humanistic.

So now I've got a tie :P

Here are my ratings for the three films:

Gold metal goes to....The first movie! This movie is my favorite of the bunch without a doubt. It had the best storyline, the best action, the best acting, and the best costumes. I feel good when I watch this movie and love to let my friends watch it all the time. I wish figures of the turtles would be made from this movie, I would buy them in a heartbeat!

Silver metal goes to...The third movie! This movie, to me, was much better than the second movie storywise. It's a cross between the other two movies; it has a bunch of serious parts ( more serious than anything the second movie gave us anyway) and sweet brotherly moments like the first movie , and it's got bad costumes and plenty of jokes like the second movie ( I'm sorry, but I thought that the second movie costumes were pretty bad too compared to the great costumes the first movie gave us.). Plus, it's was Mikey centered. I LOVE Mikey, even had a crush on him when I was a little kid, so of course I'd love this movie!

Bronze metal goes to... The second movie! This movie was pure fun! It was full of jokes and cute moments but lacked a serious storyline. I do love this movie, as much as the others, but I felt that the other two were better in their own ways.

That's it for the ratings, now for some discussion. Did anyone else notice that in the third movie Mikey and Raph's costumes were better looking than the other two? I'm assuming that it's because the focus of the movie was more on Mikey and Raph ( mostly Mikey though, but Raph also has more screen time than Leo and Don too). What do you guys think? ....Now that I think of it, Raph had a lot of focus on him in all three movies. The first movie focused on him the most, the second movie he got in a fight with Leo (again) and left to be on his own (again) and got captured by the enemy when he was looking out for Keno ( whom he clashed with like he did with Casey). In the Third movie he got pissed in the beginning because he felt no one appreciated them, he connected with Yoshi, and he wanted to stay when Mikay announced that he wasn't going home.....I think the writers for all of the movies must of liked Raphael! :D
Okay, I'm done. Debate away!

I'd say, do your best to sneak up behind one ( Mikey would be the safest one to do this too) and glomp them! :D My friends use the term glomp a lot when it comes to sneaking up on a friend an hugging them. I'm not sure if the term has other meanings though, if it does I'll most likley change my signature ( I was thinking of doing that anyway). :)

I agree. I always liked the second one more than the first, though it's pretty close, since I love the first one, too!! I just really liked the costumes in the second one more.

So, for me, it goes: Second movie, first movie, third movie.

The typical meaning of glomp is defined as "tackle-hug", as in jumping on someone and clinging to/embracing them. It is typically used in either a friendly OR romantic manner. Its meaning is not sexual/"dirty" as many people often mistakenly think upon first encountering the word.

Hey, Kaz, everyone has a right to their fave SWAT Kat. I mean, I love them both but Razor is my especial fave. But as far as hunky tabbies go, T-Bone's pretty darned cute himself.

And as much as I love (and have, on VHS. I plan to get the three-movie box-set in DVD soon) all three movies, I'd have to say 2 is my especial fave, followed by 3, and then 1. Why? I love Raph in 2 and 3 (well, I did in 1, too) just because....... Well, he's RAPH! 'Nuff said. (Actually, I like it when he gets himself into trouble. Don't ask me why; I'm weird that way.) I love the other Turtles, too, but Raph's my guy. *squeals and runs from Buslady* And I think he looked positively hunky in his Honor-Guard outfit in Movie III. Well, they ALL did, but I digress.

My favorite is the second movie. I'm always a sucker for comedy.

Then my next favorite is the first movie.

Then there's the third movie. The costumes, I didn't like. Splinter's new puppet and voice, I didn't like. But it wasn't a BAD movie.

You know, come to think of it, this is kind of like the Gremlins movies. I like the second one better than the first 'cause it's more comedy-oriented. And then I like the first one second best. Annnd there isn't a third Gremlins movie :P

So there I am, sitting at my computer. I type in "www.dictionary.com"

I get to www.dictionary.com and I type in "turtles movie numba one!"

and BAM!

Lo and behold, Hamato!!

It says:

"Turtles Movie Numba One!: The very first ninja turtle movie and the best one out of all three movies. Side note: Number three sort of blows."

Yeah, the first movie is my favorite. It's the best cause the look of the film is grittier, the sets are cool, the acting is pretty decent, the action was good, the story was really good, and the jokes were actually funny. And I felt that the costumes were the best, cause after this one, they looked like frogs.

1 is by far the best then 2 followed by 3. I own all 3 movies on DVD because I am a huge fan. I have studied the costumes in all 3 movies and part 1 clearly has the best costumes and paint job design. The turtles just look more real and lifelike. The animatronics were better in part 2 but in 3 they were worse then 1. Part 3 just looked terrible. the turtles were bright green with huge ugly spots and that wierd wrinkly neck peice that was attached to the heads really bugged me. Leonardo looked the worsed in part 3 with that cheezy smile. Did anyone notice how long the heads look in 3, especially on Mikey and Leo. Also they have large bug eyes and eye lids that make them look cartooney and where did the muscle definition go? The costumes were pretty good in part 2 but not as good as 1. As far as story line part 1 hands down wins this category as well followed by 2 then 3. 3 just shouldn't have been made.

omgnecropost0rz!

In my book, it's 1>3>2. And sometimes, when I'm in a bad mood, it's even 3>1>2. III owns II in everything safe for the costumes - it has better fighting scenes, music, plot, almost everything. II is just a weaker version of I.

Ryona

Dude, that is so bogus and you know it.

1=2>3

Spoken with truth.

Part I has the deepest story, and Part II has the best humor and best costumes.
Part III didn't really offer us anything exept for a decent bit of fighting scenes. But that sadly wasn't enough to make the movie worthy.

The first movie was my favorite cuz it has so many memories attached to it. I watch that one the most and its the one I quote the most lines from. Heck, I pretty much memorized the dialogue for Raph and Casey when they fought in the park. The costumes were the best in TMNT: The Movie and it was really accurate to the comics. I also liked the fight scenes and the story really touched me and helped me understand the Turtles better.

That's true. The third film had some good fight scenes and a decent enough story, but the animatronics were horrible; definitely a step down from the previous two movies.

I like 1 the best, hands down. It's just a legitimately fantastic movie.

As for the other two, it's hard to decide. 3 would win for nostalgia value, since that's the one I watched the most as a kid. 2 is really campy, though. Vanilla Ice actually gives it extra points in my mind. In fact, I still have the 6 minute video where he talks about making the Ninja Rap.

I'd Vanilla Ice took the second movie and "made it ice" just like he said he would. The 3rd is still 3rd for me.

the first one hands down the best. loved that raph, my fave, was sort of the forefront turtle in the first film. they gave him more attention and depth than the others, and i appreciated that. also, loved the atmosphere like the wet streets and dark and stuff. elias koteas was excellent, wished he did more stuff (although he was in the prophecy and thin red line). good suits and it was cool they took the story a little more seriously.

but the second one has a special place in my heart. in my opinion, both the suits and animatronics were much better. i like that we got a serious movie with 1 and a kinda goofy one with part 2. plus ernie reyes jr. was a good actor and fighter (by the way, you seen him in the rundown with the rock. WOW HE'S CHANGED. imagine him now in a tmnt film. heh heh.)

BigApple3AM

2 was extra goofy because they got b*tched at by parents so they made it like the cartoon. You know a movie kicks butt when parents whine about it ;)

Yeah the movies depreciate as the number grows. Lets hope this doesn't catch on for #4, though I have a feeling it will.

It is a toss up for #1 and #2...I still know where I was and what I did on the days that they came on. When I went to see the second one, I was trying out a horse then went to see the movie. I ended up buying the horse 3 weeks later, which is still alive as we I type this.

It's a tough one between one and two. I'm torn between two scenes that really make the two movies. In the first movie after Shredder falls into the garbage truck, Casey Jones grabs the lever and says, "...OOPS!" I'm almost 21 years old, and I still think that part is hilarious to no end. In the second movie at the beginning, Donatello is pushing the clown and he says, "Yeah....ye-yeah!" Another classic and hilarious moment.

So I dunno. They're both amazing to me.

*nods* You're definetly right, Ai. 1 and 2 are at par with each other. They're both awesome in their own way. It really is a tough choice between them because of where one was lacking in certain aspects, the other makes up for them. They compliment each other.

as a kid, Secret of the ooze was my favorite, but in the last few years it has transitioned to number 1. I think the first movie is so much more interesting to watch, and seems to have more depth than the other 2. I still like secret of the ooze, and also like how it takes place very shortly after the first movie. Sadly, last time i put in my tmnt 3 dvd, I could not sit through the whole thing. I'm hoping four will at least be my second favorite out of all.

the first tmnt movie was by far the best it was more real told a better story and in my opion it stayed true to the style of the comics , movie two and three went in the way of the 80's cartoon and while i love the 80's cartoon no disrespect there i just wanted the other two to be done in the way of the first one , the secound was ruined by a long sinced banished white rapper who i can't even say and the third one started off great bringing casey back was great but then they went back in time and the rest was crap

Hmm, this is a VERY good question!

I remember when I was younger, closer to the time the movies just came out (but not exactly the same year). I remember watching the 2nd movie a lot more. I thought it was hilarious. ESPECAILLY that first opening scene! :) Like someone said here where Don goes "Yeah.. Yeaaaah!" with that clown... then Mikey stops those guys to show them some yo-yo tricks and ends with "Around The World!!!"

The 3rd movie was actually pretty good. But I really don't remember seeing it a lot especially when I was young, actually I didn't even know there was a 3rd movie untill like a few years ago. But I finally got it watched it a few times and there are really a LOT of good lines in there... Like when Raph and Don are caught by those Guards..

Donatello: Uh, o-hi-o, wasabi.
Raphael: "Hello mustard?"
Donatello: OK, so my Japanese is a little rusty. (to the guards) Uh, Suzuki, Kawasaki - (Raphael knocks them out cold)
Raphael: How 'bout, uh, "Sayonara?"

and just before that:

Raphael: Did you hear what he called me, Leo?
Leo: Yeah, an ugly lump of dung.
[casually walks away]
Raphael: That was an insult, Leo.
Donatello: Not necessarily, Raph. Did you know that in some countries dung is used as a fuel source?

Anyways... so those were both great movies.

But yes, yes indeed... The Best Ninja Turtle Movie, for me, would have to go to the first one! Just a lot of great stuff, great memories, watched it a lot, still enjoyable today!

I mean it had everything, funny lines, good action, Casey Jones dropping from a tree with a hockey mask! April O'Neil in a yellow jacket! And Shredder!!!

Since this has been bumped...

1 is clearly my favorite. It's the best in every way. I love 2 as well, but part of me now wishes that it wasn't so cartoony. But I wouldn't change it if I could because that movie has helped my side venture greatly. Truthfully, i've never liked part 3. I saw it again a while ago and I still don't like it. I guess I'd just need my Shredder and Tatsu to enjoy it. :)

The first one was by far my favorite because of its gritty and dark take on the turtles, the second one is alright but I hate that they reused so many plot devices from the 1st movie....Raph runs away gets captured, Shredder captures splinter...just to many for my taste.

The 3rd film....eh, could have been way better, the story was lame and focused to much on humor.

1 for heart
2 for fun
3 for when I want to insult my intelligence

o_O

It's either 1 or 2. To hell with 3.

The first movie. Mostly because I grew up with that one and I still like today.

even though i like humorous stuff, i pick the first one for its realistic take on stuff! (the second movie was actually funny, whereas the third movie was simply trying to be)

1 was the best (as we all agree on that cause it was closer to the original comics) 2 was ok, not as intense as 1 but, i give it a thumbs up, 3, ... lol, it was trying to catch up with 1 cause of usage of their weapons, they should've sticked to Jim Henson's Creature Shop for the costumes, they were too shinny green, for instace, Leo and Donny's bandana color were different, in 1 and 2 Leo's was like a light blue but they made it a darker blue and Donny's was dark purple in 1 and 2, on the 3rd, it was light purple (did anyone notice this besides me?)

sorry for the double post, my computer was being a pain, i didn't know it went through or not

Thought this was a pretty cool pic.

My favorite used to be TMNT2, because of Tokah and Rhazar (sp?) and the mutant vs mutant thing. Vanilla Ice made it classic. He's to this day, my favorite rapper.

Later, I realized that TMNT1 was cooler, because my tastes drifted. I appreciate the first movie for it's gritty, darker feel. The TMNT fought crime, not just ninjas.

I wish that the movies had full use of weapons though... Only in #1 did Leo's blade draw blood. And that was under-done, at best. (Splinter's ear-lopping doesn't count.)

I hope that the new movie will include the weapons as functioning items, rather than comedic tools as the 2nd did.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEVILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

 :P

What made TMNT2 classic for me was the fight in the mall and Shredder's freaky-deaky helmet.

Well you see, Draconic Sir, because the TMNT movies were aimed at KIDS, like a lot of us were back then, they wanted a movie that the whole family could go to and not feel it was too violent, or awkward so naturally they didn't show most of the weapons used at the most dangerous capacities.

I mean basically Donatello really got the most use out of his weapon because they didn't mind showing him using the Bo to knock people in the head or over the back with. Mikey could use his nunchucks fairly often in combat because they would just knock the enemy back...

But of course Raph with his Sais and Leo with his Katanas could not use the sharp parts of their weapons to stab or slice enemies or else the movie would probably have to be rated PG 13 perhaps Rated R if they really got serious about it.

I'm 20 now, and I STILL appreciate the fact that in the TMNT movies they still found ways to use their weapons effectively but not in such a violent fashion. :)

Ah, well, as a fellow 20 year old, I have to say that at the time, I probably wouldn't have appreciated so much the blood and gore, as I would today.

However, I sure hope that the movie is geared to entertain fans of all ages, and certainly not primarily intended to leach off of the new TMNT series's fans... Oh well.. wishful thinking I guess...

I enjoyed the third movie the most, it had a very original storyline and tried to be different from the Shredder plots of the first 2. And it had important moments of spiritual/emotional growth for a few of the characters which appealed to me. But I enjoy all three movies, especially Raphael, Splinter and Casey.

I like the 2nd movie quite a lot, however i was very disappointed that we didn't see much of the tmnt's weapons. Well...we saw Dons bo staff quite a bit but thats it. Mikeys Nunchukas were swopped for salarmie* (spelling) we saw Leo grab the handles of his katanas in pepreation for battle and Raphs sias were used for chatching pizza in aprils appartment, lol.

But the first is my all time fav

The third i was just like "huh..."?

I think the first one was the best one story wise, but i think the second film was visually more appealing. The third one has its moments, but i think its overall plot could have been much better. Without a doubt the poorest of the three movies in my mind.

In your mind, so eloquently put. Then you at least respect that not all fans dislike the third entry.

Wow. It's oddly refreshing to hear someone who actually doesn't despise the third film. Props to you, my friend.

I like the first one the best, had the best action and a more "realistic" feel to it than the other two.

However, I agree with the many on here, in that I think the costumes were better looking in the second, and The Secret of The Ooze had some funny moments, like Donetello not quite feeling the hang of tearing off duct tape off of people's and Raph's faces.

The third, while the costumes were not so good, the story I thought was intriguing. And I'm a big horse lover, and to see the Turtles give it a try on the steeds was a great treat.

When I was younger Secret of the Ooze was my favorite, but as I've aged and my tastes have changed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the Movie is definately my favorite.

My favorite is definatly TMNT 1. It seemed to be a bit "darker", which I like. Besides, I prefer it's take on Master Splinter than number two. Splinter looked like he went through the wash or something (O_o) I also liked seeing Casey in the first movie. Man, I love that crazy vigilante :P

I have yet to see 1, but I will when I get the three DVD-Set for Christmas:lol: 8) :D :) :P

But for now my favorite is #3....followed closely by 2, although it wasn't as serious as I would have liked...
