In the old toon I hated Leonardo!(No offense for leo fans).
He never done anything useful! Only once or twice. He had an annoying voice. I always tought that the turtles should be only 3.
But when I started to watch the new toon, I started to like Leo.
Old toon: I hated him!
New toon: I respect him! 8)

If I could revoke your talking privledges, I would :P

Leo is by far my favorite turtle, and always will be. Even though in the comics, the old toon, and the new toon he is portrayed a bit differently, at the core he is stil the same hardworking, concerned, and dedicated leader that I respect and love. :tlove:

I like both leos. They both have great character. I always respected Leo, even though he is a cartoon character.I loved Leo's voice in the old cartoon. Even though it kinda sounded like he was going through pubiety.

Leo has and will alway's be my favorite. Leo alway's came first before the other's He was the leader he had the katana's the Blue (fav. color). Old toon, new toon. In the mirage series he was great he really seemed like the strongest and the leader. I remember back in 1991 my dad was back from the Gulf War my whole family wen't to Indiana and we were in a mall and there was a Kay bee there and the movie turtles just came out my brother got Don (His fav.) Ther was no Leo :( but I got my second choice Raph. Later my Dad brought home the Movie Leo I was so happy

Yup Leo is all good be it movie, comic, old school toon, or new school. He is the best. I liked him because he was always so dedicated and serious but not overboard.

New toon Leo seems a bit too powerful. But he's still good.

Raph's voice sounded like a middle-aged man and Splinter's voice sounded like a human.Seeing as he was Hamato Yoshi before in the old toon his voice didn't change much.

I love Leo! He's so great in so many ways! How can anyone not like him? He's the perfect representation of a ninja; highly trained, highly skilled, dead serious in combat, calm, cool, focused, fearless with an indomitable fighting spirit. He also wields the ninja trademark weapon. His responsability as the leader and Splinter's model student and star pupil is what makes him so strong. I don't understand why some people are complaining that Leonardo is too powerful in the new series. He's always been like that, it's just that the new series goes into deeper depth with all the characters, so their strengths and weaknesses are more notable. We all know that Leo has always been a very powerful warrior, so it becomes noted in the new series as a characteristic. The same goes with other characters such as Raphael for example. Raph has always had an anger managment problem, so it becomes noted in the new series as a characteristic. Unlike the old series, the new series characters are portrayed exactlly the way they're supposed to.

and thats a nice pic krow of raph vs casey looks hotness.

I did not mind the old toon LEo. He did have a whiney voice, because he was voiced by Cam Clarke. He did act too much like a leader and was closer to splinter. He was goofy at times though, that is what I liked. I heard, but NEVER SAW THE EP, that leo was afraid of snakes.

Lol! Raph is still a jerk and does things he shouldn't. I don't see old-school Raph being irritating at all. If I had to pick a type of Raph to live with, it would deffinetly be old series Raph! I could NOT live with a grouchy pessimistic downer like new series Raph!

I don't get the Leonardo from the original cartoon. He was closer to Splinter than his friends (the TMNT and Splinter were NOT family in the old show) and he was DEATHLY afraid of snakes, yet he is a reptile himself. It's like if I was afraid of my own cousin, for God's sake. I'm not bashing him, I just don't get it.

Old toon Leo was cool. He was the best of the turtles and he still is in the new toon. The problem is he takes himself so seriously. He wants to be the best he can be, and the other tutles tend to get on his nerves, because they don't hold themselves to as high a standard. The problem with the old toon Leo is that when he got frustrated with the others he was kind of whiny about it. In the new toon, he has more authority in his voice, but still gets along better with his brothers. So, I love both, with a slight edge to the new toon.

I don't understand leo's fear of snakes. When they had the sewer snake in incredible shrinking turtles, they never showed leo's fear of snakes there. How did leo's fear of snakes show and how did he react to snakes.

I do think the old toon leo and new toon leo are about a tie with me. I almost like the old toon leo better, because he sounded goofier in season 4 eps. His voice was more serious in season 1 though.

In my opinion, the coolest moment old toon Leo had was in Hot Rodding Teenagers form Dimension X. At the end of the episode when the other TMNT were sleeping, while polishing his katana, he goes to April: "They'll need their rest. Because tomorrow we find the Shredder...and FINISH HIM!!!" as he puts his katana in its "holder". That was REALLY BADASS!!!

"If you have nothing good to say...say nothing at all"

Both shows are equally good, and since this IS the original forums once more, I think we can do with a little more respect towards the original cartoon, if you can't muster even that, don't post in here.

Now, moving on CONSTRUCTIVLY and without wasting thread space in here to bash this show and it's characters in such a biased manner, the original cartoon Leonardo was the more "straight arrow" of the group, mostly following the code of honour and maintaining that code in whatever guise ("The Three Muskatrutles" anyone?) too bad he was never a favourate of the writers, how many episodes developed him in the original cartoon? Few and far between

Wow, this was an old topic sprung back to life. Okay, here's my thoughts on Leo: he's now become my second favorite turtle, right behind Don. During the original toon, I wasn't allowed to like Don because my sister liked him, so I had to pick someone else. Won't say who in fear the fans of him will come after me. :D Anyway! I've always loved Cam Clarke's voice, probably more than Leo himself! His voice was the best in season one, very deep and very awesome. In fact, all the voices for him have been great. I guess you could say Leo moved up to my second fave after I read GreenWillow's fanfics. With reading them, I jumped back into reading Mirage (for artwork purposes, too) and could see she kept him very true to those books, and that made me love him even more! Don will always be my number one guy, but with what I've seen/heard/read with Leo, he's right in the number two spot. :)

I've loved Leonardo since I was seven. He was always great in the old toon and the movies, and it was the old toon where he first became my passion and ultimate favorite. Now in the new show, he is truly magnificent, and I much perfer him over the old toon version. This is how he was always meant to be shown, as he was in the comics. His character is so much more deeply developed, as with all of them. Though still I cannot forget that cute seemingly pre-adolesent version of the old toon that kindled my ever-lasting devotion and love to him.

Vive le Leonardo!

Leonardo's my favorite of the bunch...now.

When I was a kid I liked Mike the most. I guess it's because he was the goofy one and I was entertained by stuff like that (I was like 6 or 7). However, looking back at the old show Leo stands as my favorite. Maybe I just like Cam Clark's voice.

I was'nt persecuting you at all, I've been on the forums long enough to know the original cartoon is'nt supposed to be bashed on the general discussion thread in any capacity.

Also people were going out of thier way to talk constructivly regarding this subject rather than the usual "Wahh, thiz suckz" opinion, you're more than welcome to your opinion, but if you're not a fan of the original series, at least keep out of threads regarding anything from it if you have no desire to even think a little better about the positives/negatives of a character you dislike, lord knows I've had the balls to acknowledge the positives of Next Mutation from time to time

Cuteness isn't all appearance, it's personality too.

Cute I have discovered seems to be more of a "girl thing". We tend to find things people do adorable.... it feels us with a warm feeling. I personally at times find Leonardo's personality very cute. I like when he pouts and gets fussy, because that is just so contray to his regular stoic nature that it just makes me giggle.

Also the guys don't look the same to me... but I think that is mostly because the way people look to me tends to be influenced by who they are even more then what they look like. I have met some very attractive men who has horrible personalities so even if they look like "Brad Pitt". I find them ugly.... Same with the guys.... they all come across as different to me... Subtle facial expressions they each tend to have and the way they each move is different.

Well, I for one am not a girl who goes for 'cute'. Like Krow, I don't 'get' that. *shrugs*

I mean, not in conventional terms, at least. I find, that a person's personality, the way they act and treat people (their families, their friends... oh yeah, and especially me. ;)) the most important. Are there physical characteristics that I prefer? Of course. And, most of you already know what that is. ;)

But, for me, the term 'cute' is reserved for babies and small animals. Not people.

I didnt like old toon Leo at all. The way he acted in the old show made me dislike his character alot. Though he still kicked ass int he comics! But yeah in the old toon he was to bossy and he took the leader thing way to far. The thing that got me was none of them ever questioned his actions. I mean thats what Raph is there for! To make Leo's actions look questionable
In the new toon however with-in the first 20 episodes Leo had quickly gained my liking. I started to really get into his character on Shredder Strikes back part 1 when he showed he doesnt give up until he can no longer move. Thats some devotion and his respect for honor overwhlems his pride. He pays for it alot but in the end his actions never go un-noticed. Though I wish the show didnt seem so focused on Leo and Raph. If you notice there has been more Leo and Raph solo stories and such then ones with Mikey and Don. I also find it funny how when the split up Leo always goes with Raph and Mikey and Don always go togther. But I dont really mind since I like Leo now. Now I can say I like all the turtles. Don is still my favorite though :P

Leonardo has always been my least favorite of the Turtles. I do like the fact that is dead set on being a great ninja, but I feel he got the spotlight too often. (But then again, it's to show that he is the best example of a ninja.) The old toon Leonardo was a bit annoying because he constantly stated the obvious.

The new toon Leonardo is a LOT better than the old toon one. The only thing better with the old toon one is obviously the voice. My brother was a Leonardo fan when we were both little. I was and will always remain a Mikey fan.:)

To me Leonardo was not quite as interesting as say Raphael or Michaelangelo and yes he could be a wet blanket because he was not a goof. But he was the voice of reason and thought more logically. Seemed to me he usually had a plan whenever things were getting down to the wire.

Leonardo has many good qualities, both toon and movie-wise...he always listened more respectfully to Splinter and seemed to really want to embrace all the sensei had to say. Besides, I think he was the most wicked weapons of all four (IMO)...two katana blades and he definitely knows how to use them. Even tho Raph is my fave, I guess you could say I resemble Leo more in my personality.

Just my 2 cents.

Wow, ya know a long time ago there used to be hardly any Leo fans on the lists/forums. Now there's a huge bunch of them! *makes me feel less special tho* I myself have always loved Leo. Ever since I can remember. When the Original Series toon came out and I used to watch it all the time, I was only in grade school. And I have this soft spot for those brave, serious, loner, leader, heroic, willing-to-sacrifice-themselves-to-save-others types! I have so many heroes it's not funny! *yes I'm like a little girl who has a big crush, heh* So back in grade school, I just fell in love with Leo. He's always been my hero. Tho later on I learned more about his true character and I think he's a deep, caring, and hard-working person. Plus he's strong-willed and motivated.

Now in my adult life, I look up to him as well. Being how I'm always so down on myself, shy, and inconfident, I look to Leo's character and how he'd help me if he were a real person. I'd think of what he'd say to me to bring up my confidence and make me feel like I'm a special person afterall. I have seen visions of me talking to him and imagining what he'd say. So in a sick sort of way, Leo HAS helped me cope thru some of my problems. And just so noone gets scared off, NO I don't have voices in my head.....well maybe just a few, dang I hate it when they all wanna talk at the same time too, rather annoying! But that's how I've come to admire and respect Leo, and why he holds the #1 spot in my favorite turtle list.

In relation to the original topic tho, I like FoxBox Leo alot too, but I like him about the same as the Original Series Leo. However FB Leo is alot more comic-book based (which is good), whereas OS Leo is prolly not 'quite' so serious and hard-edged. I personally found nothing annoying about the OS Leo and like Brinatello has said, I loved the Voice Actor who did his voice, Cam Clarke. I also fell in love with his voice. So brave and heroic but at times so gentle and sweet. The VA for FB Leo, Michael Sinterniklaas, is a pretty good too. But I don't like him as much as Cam Clarke tho. And lastly I'll say also like Brinatello, I read the Mirage comic books (mostly the earlier issues) and I also love that scene where Leo rescues April from the freezing water when she fell thru the ice! Gotta be one of my favorite comic book moments! Ahhhh Leo! I do hope they'll show that part in a FB episode but I dunno. They may have already passed that part.

I'm definitely a leo fan. Towards the end of the old turtles toy line I couldn't afford every variant of the fab four so I would just get the leo version and move on.

I think I liked him most because he was blue and had swords, both something a child loves. After a while I matured and I started to like Leo for other things too. Now I watch the old toon and I really don't have a favorite because it's so much better to accept them all equally.

In the new cartoon I love Leo but then again I really can't stand the other turtles. Leo is sometimes like the loner and that's something I can relate to.
