The Utrom exoskeleton, leg standing behind him. A close up of the broken leg socket, and a close up of the broken hip socket.
Edit: Say... wasn't there some e-mail adress I recall hearing about on here to complain about stuff like this and possibly get a replacement free of charge?

It's the only one they had, or have ever had. And they may not take it back opened.

I feel your pain. This same type of thing has happened to me a few times with other figures but none of them have been TMNT figures. Although when I got my Fugitoid a few days ago I tried to move his leg and it moved up and then slowly went back down on it's own like the plastic got twisted instead of the joint moving...... After messing with the leg for awhile I was afraid it would break off but somehow, luckly, I fixed the problem and now his leg's fine.
I think how this happened to your Utrom is that somehow the way the leg was put on yours at the factory it was in a way that when you try to move the leg, the plastic twists instead of the joint moving. I would email playmates and tell them what happened, and send them the pics if you can and ask for a new Utrom figure.
I feel your pain.

totally e-mail playmates about it... someone else on the board broke their splinter and they got a replacement. Maybe you'll get another Utrom...
glad its never happened to me
Yep, same thing happened to me with Casey...i opened him up and start to put his weapons on and BAM, his right hand comes off!! I was peeved needless to say...but i decided to leave him like...it was destiny...so i just have to think of a creative story of how he lost his hand when i get tham all displayed..might be interesting... :)

i've had figures do that.....and here's how i fixed it....
i took a small nail and a small pointy screw about the same size and with the screw drilled a hole in the hand and the arm.....then i put the head of the nail in to obne or the other.....and then pit them together....one sec....i'll make pics....here's doc ock (who has been replaced by the sinister six doc ock....but i had the same problem with him too) ok....well this ain't workin' i'll post the pics later.....
EDIT: Photobucket works once again.....

They took it back. As noted, they didn't have any other Utroms, so I got their only Triceraton Warrior instead.

Well dude looks like you got a bootleg version of the figure. In layman's terms you got ripped off.Maybe you should keep the Utrom alien and like throw the exoskeleton away. That way he still has his flying disc. :D

It wasn't bootleg, it was just broken. And I already said I returned it.

No, it was a broken figure, not a bootleg. A bootleg is a fake, that wasn't fake.

Who really cares? It was sort of a bootleg figure cuz on urbandictionary.com it says bootleg is like a rip off.It was a defective toy anyways.

Deftective and bootleg are two totally different things.
Anyway, back on topic, I'm glad to hear the store took it back.

Err... when regarding toys when most people hear bootleg they think a knock off, not a broken real toy. So to avoid confusion lets just stick with broken instead of bootleg, mmm'k? :)

No, cowabunga. A bootleg is an illegal reproduction of an item (ie. a copy of a CD, DVD, or video game) OR an unofficial (and thus illegal) product made without legal permission of any sort and without proper paying or roylaties (ie. some TMNT actioin figures made by some guy down the street from you or by some asian company) usually marketed as either the real thing or as something else when its obvious it isn't. Look around that site you yourself pointed to (bootlegactionfigures.com) and you'll see what I mean.
The Utrom figure in question was NOT a bootleg, as it WAS an official Playmates TMNT figure.
And for another thing, urbandictionary.com is made up of definitions submitted by people with no sort of confirmation or anything, and is thus not a valid resource for the meanings of words. I could submit that "Triceraton" means a hedgehog wearing a ballerina outfit and drinking kool-aid and it'd get put up. Enough said.
