Does anyone have pics of each vintage card back from 1988 up until the line ended? For example, the 1988 one had 10 figures, then the next card back released (1989) had those 10 figures plus Krang, Baxter, Ace Duck and Genghis Frog. I haven't seen any card backs other then these two. The reason I'm asking is because when I buy figures, for example Casey Jones, I wanna make sure I get them with their original card back, and not a reprint with 44 figures (or more) on the back. Can anyone help me out?

To make sure you buy the first version of a figure; Look at the artwork on the front of the cardback. If the artwork displays pictures of the actual packed figure, then it is the first release. For Example: If it's Casey Jones, then its front cardback should have artwork of Casey Jones in a few different poses. The back of the card should have the correct number of figures listed up to that point. The re-released figures had three different cardbacks. The first cardback had artwork on it, but the artwork displayed other characters, not the actual packed figure. The second cardback for the re-released figures did not have artwork displaying any characters. It only showed the four turtles' heads; or the four turtles' complete bodies on front, with lots of figures from all waves, pictured on back.

It's kinda weird how the figures were re-released.Krang's original card should have him on the front with speech bubbles.Ninjaturtles.com shows the original backings.Just look in the figure archive. It'll show Casey Jones and whatnot.I'll gve you the link.http://www.ninjaturtles.com/toys/1989/.htm

I have the first release Krang but Casey's not on the back. I'm pretty clued up about the front of the cards as to which is a re-release or not, but the backs sometimes show a diffrent lot of figures. I have a pic of the back of a Casey card with 44 figures on it, and I don't think there were that many out at the time of his first release, but the front of the card has 3 Casey poses. I also have a pic of the back of Slash's card, as far as I know he was released after Casey and his card only has 27. One other thing, the Casey card has Muckman under the bad guy's heading, but then Slash's has him under the good guy's :-?

The original "artwork" card originally had 10 figures on the back for the first series. This would be the four turtles, april, splinter, shredder, rocksteady, bebop and foot soldier. Later in about 1990, they released most of these figures the same way but with more figures pictured on the back, i think up to about the scumbug series.
Later they were released with the card depicting Raphael "holding" the figure.
The next card showed the four turtles in the sewer and was purple.
Kaybee toys released the original ten figures (or most of them) exclusively. These figures had the new card fronts (the turtles in the purple sewer), but they used the original card backs (ten figures, origin story and clip and collect card).
