Wow... where have I been? But... Storm Turtle on Mikey's Forums had just pointed this out. I guess it was also put up last week on the 25th too. But this shows sketches of the Turtles, as well as Splinter, April and Casey! :D

I like 'em a lot. It's our first look at April and Casey. Casey's probably my favorite. He reminds me of the Casey from the first movie.

yup, i totally agree. they outdid themselves with Casey and April. Splinter, im not so sure about, but he looks appropriate. He was always supposed to have a sorta 'Yoda-like' look and feel to him.

well.... the turtles all look great, deffinitly

splinter on the other hand... I like the kimono and all BUT his fur is... GREY??!!! and his nose is a little too droopy :(

Casey looks okay... april wearing a belly shirt? well I didn't see that coming but I'm fine with it.

*lol* a couple girls on the Mikey forum are wondering about April's shirt too. I'm just hoping that's her lounging look. Can't really see her going to work at a science lab looking like that. :wink: But i'm dool with it other wise. :D

actually, she's a computer programmer not a lab scientist. im pretty sure computer people could go to work like that. besides, maybe its her day off.

I agree with that bit about Splinter, he reminds me of the old man in Jackie chan Adventures, which is no surprise because the animators of that show are also doing TMNT!!!

Yeah.. I was thinking computer programmer... and typed "who works in a science lab". But I did not say "lab scientist". Excuse me for not being to the point. :P

But I still don't think they go to work like that. Being in New Media, I spent a lot of time around computer programmers, designers, etc. they dress much more conservatively. Prefering black/dark clothes that are stylin or retro. At least it is for the midwest. Sides... it's against the generic white collar dresscode to wear low cut pants and high cut shirts.

Well, as long as he doesnt just meditate all the time, and be in need of rescuing all the time....I mean, he TAUGHT the turtles, you'd think it'd almost be the other way around, with him helping the boys out and stuff...

Hmm....his arms Gah! Like, NO muscle build! How the hell can he do the stuff he can?! Heh, not to mention he doesnt need to bend over to scratch his knees....His coloring *bleh* at least give him SOME sort of sophistication, instead of shop and save Gray.... :dead:

How can you possibly tell what Splinter's arms look like? :-? They're hidden beneath his robe. Why do you even care? I'm fine with his new design, but Casey is still the coolest. 8)

She likes the Dog splinter from archie. That splinter was much stronger and taller etc. But this splinter is based on archie so Splinter is short and old and looks like a rat. Of course he could have been a little darker color, but im fine with it.

My opinion:

Casey: Perfect. Tough and nice guy in one.
April: Ok. Could use some pants that fits better :)
Splinter: Should be a little darker... But a nice body. Errr... you know what I mean... :P
Leo: Looks like a leader. Who wouldn't hesitate to fight some Foot.
Raph: Agressive! Yeah! :evilgrin:
Don: A little philosophical... Nice.
Mike: Too insane :o Hope he'll look a little bit more "normal" in the show.

No muscle build, well thats the thing, Splinter HAS to not have all those muscles for his character to work. If it was Old Mutant Ninja Rat, but it isn't, Splinter is my favorite character because he IS so old!! so when he fights hes incredibly cool!!!! like yoda, it has to that kind of "whoa... I never thought he could do that"
but you are right about splinter getting captured, thats annoying, maybe TMNT getting captured and Splinter saving them!! :evilgrin:

I think splinter got captured in the movie because he was out numbered. If it were one or 2 foot, i think he could have handeled them.

yeah, april does look pretty hot (for a cartoon, anyway).

splinter is SUPPOSED to be a Yoda meets Stick (from Daredevil) kinda character. so, he is SUPPOSED to 'look' old and weak and frail, but could really kick your irreverant ass in half a second.

Casey rocks.

Mike...... kinda weird there. He was more of the 'crazy and insane' look and he should have a more relaxed and good-natured look.

The other turtles look okay except for Raph...... yeah, he's angry and agressive but he's not Wolverine. He should look less 'berserker rage' and more morbid and angry.

well, we all are looking forward to this.

i just want to see every character's personality, to see if it matches their original ones.

if april ends up someone riding motorcycles and working computers, then the show will be pretty weird. and hopefully, casey will be chasing after april's heart in the show. i'd love to see him bomb every time. :tlol:

April looks like she's 16 or so.

In the cartoon she was definitely in her mid-to-late 20's (one of the episodes puts her at 28 ), and women that age don't wear pants that are falling off their asses, unless they're untalented performers in the music industry.

Hmm, I always saw both April and Casey in their late twenties. Though these pictures make them look in their early twenties, if not teenagers. Casey looks good, 'cause he always had that immature streak to him, but I do think April should look a but more mature.

Hopefully they know where they're going with this. Mirage has given thumbs up, and they're excited, so it can't be too stupid.

Now that I look at it I agree, casey and April look younger the usual!! April looks about ohhh... 22 and Casey looks about the same,

about Mirage giving the thums up though... I can't see Peter Laird agreeing to that new theme song, for sure. it doesn't seem his style at all, so far a lot of stuff has been breaking off of Mirage, for better or for worse

I find some irony in what you just said, Karpo. You say you don't want the new series to be too "kiddy", yet you favor the Fox Box theme, which sounds the most "kiddy" out of all the TMNT themes ther have been so far, over the final one.

The Fox Box one sounds a little too much like a Beach Boys song to me.

I think the Fox Box theme was better too, but after listening to the new one a couple hundred times, I've come to accept it, maybe even like it. At least if the theme is crap, we know there's gonna be a good show to back up. But if you ask me, the real problem with the new theme is that you can't sing along to it. I mean, I can't even understand what they're saying. It's horrible, a complete crime that the kids of today won't be able to sing along to the original TMNT theme like I know most of did (even more reason to get the old eps out on dvd and vhs again!). Maybe they'll play it with subtitles.

My thoughts:

Casey-nice. Looks like the movie version.

April-Ehehehe. I don't think I'll say anymore. >>

Splinter-I think it suits him. He IS a pretty old rat, ya know. It hides the fact that he can still kick azz. Bwahahaha!

Leo-Meh. Never liked Leo. Good enough, I guess. A friend commented that he looks Rambo-ish.

Raphael-HELLZ YEAH! Raph looks BADASS. I don't mind the constant mad expression, I think it suits him. He's SUPPOSED to be a raving psychopath. Yeees.

Donatello-Looks curious, resourceful. Moreso then the original cartoon.

Michelangelo-o_o Uhh... I think they overdid him just a tad. I thought he was supposed to be LESS of a party animal then the original? Whatever.

Overall opinion: Pretty good. So far this line has pleased me on almost every aspect; toys, song, and show. Now show us Shredhead and the Foot! :evilgrin:
