I see you like resident evil. Have you seen any real Zombie movies like the Living dead trilogy? Compared to them Resident evil looks like a Disney movie...

Brodie

I've seen them, But they seem like comedies. Any movie like that is funny.

Some good movies that didn't make the list:

1- Childs Play 1 and 2

Well resident evil was a kiddie movie basicly, But i have heard that that there will be another Geroge A. Romero movie! It's called 'Dead Reckoning' and it will be R-rated in theaters and unrated for DVD. Not PG13 like some stupid RE. Why do i talk about this so much? BEcause i was hoping lot from that movie, and it failed me, BIG time.

Here's few i forgot to mention

6. Start Wars original trilogy
7. Indiana Jones 1 & 3

Eye of Sarnath

Man, what can I post that hasn't been already? Oh well, these are my favorites:

Raiders of the Lost Ark (best movie EVER imho)
Star Wars (yep, all of 'em. espcially The Empire Strikes Back)
Jurassic Park (I didn't like the last two that much)
The Terminator
True Lies (I think this movie is hilarious!)
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (another very funny movie)
TMNT: The Movie
Lord of the Rings (not quite as good as Star Wars, I don't think, but it's up there)
Alien
Aliens

Okay, watch these, 'cause, uh, well, they're really good.

Mmm... it's usually a movie a week for me. My hubby is a big time collector of DVDs (we have 375 right now). Trying to pick out my other favs aside from TMNT, LotR, and StarWars will be haaaard! Oo... Titan AE and Mulan.. and Toy Story and Monsters Inc. also good.

The ones we got this week are ET, Spiderman, Sum of all Fears, the first season of Malcolm in the Middle, Crime + Punishment in suburbia, Super Troopers, and the Count of Monte Crisco.

I have yet to see Monte Crisco (lloks good), but the others were okay. My fav picks there is ET and Malcolm inthe middle. Super Troopers was funny, but not like how Police Academy was. The Sum of all Fears... serious damage there... but hardly any emotions. Bleh.

Crime + Punishment in Suburbia was fascinating. I mean, i never heard of it, and the plot is very close to that in American Beauty. Apparently it's also a take off of Dostoyevsky's classic novel, I guess. But the actor, Vincent Kartheiser, who played the freaky geek who spies on the troubled teen girl... damn, he looked kinda cute. *sai* Must have been his sprakling blue eyes and the way he looked like a Japanese Anime character. Not that I usually droll over acotors or anything. :P

Karpo_007
11-04-2002, 01:48 PM
I watched "Sum of all Fears" the other day. I must say i was disappointed with it... If you compare it something like "Bourne Identity" wich i also saw few weeks back you can see the differnce between a good and bad Clancy movie...

Brodie
11-04-2002, 03:14 PM
Finally, someone with the same movie tastes as me. WHo would have thought you could see View Askew movies with Evil Dead movies on the same list twice?

Edit: Clancy didn't do the Bourne Identity...

11-04-2002, 04:04 PM
heh
1. TMNT 1
2. Cheech and chong up in smoke
3. tommy boy
4. shaft (original 70's verion)
5. Ghostbusters
6. Any i forgot and i liked i just don't remember, cuz i basically just read off of my dvd collection

11-04-2002, 04:47 PM
Has anyone besides the Hedge listed a movie other then from the past 30 years that wasn't a Cheech and Chong movie?

You guys should see more versatile stuff, you know like...

One Flew Over the Cuckcoo's nest
The Treasure of Siera Madre
Citzen Kane (Only the greatest movie ever made)
The Two Jakes
Casablanca

For the cheaper sci-fi type flicks, (MY GOD PEOPLE LISTED RESIDENT EVIL) go rent, They Live, with Rowdy Roddy Piper. The simple things in that movie are way better then half the crap these big budget movies have. PLUS, it has the greatest movie fight scene of all time. Don't ask me, ask Joe Bob Riggs.

Lastly, since your alls list is mostly comic and video game movies...How could you not list Batman 1 & 2. Batman, is purely the best comic to movie, probably ever.

For the record TMNT 1 was really good, and I'll be watching it again here in a bit.

I dunno if this list was supposed to be greatest movies of all time, or top ten personal favs or what. But check out a few of those movies I listed at the top. By no means are they in any order, or any representation of the whole list of MUST SEE movies. Definate classics. And They Live is a great Cult Classic.

Anywho.....

nice selection razor. most of the movies on the list i like too. i also like ghost buster and for some bizzare reason, mario brothers. i like a lot of comedy movies (movies that make you really laugh, unlike those stupid comedies that are plain stupid). i just dislike sappy movies and horror movies since they don't make you laugh are they don't look cool. i also like gundam movies too :D  all you might say.

I watched "Sum of all Fears" the other day. I must say i was disappointed with it... If you compare it something like "Bourne Identity" wich i also saw few weeks back you can see the differnce between a good and bad Clancy movie...

Yeah.. I have to agree there. A major dissapoint for a Clancy plot. Either it was edited out to much for post 9/11 realism or something.. but I didn't feel any emotion or pity towards the end. They dulled it so much and put all the focus on the President. Bleh.

Terminator 1 and 2... muuuch better (despite it's sci-fi standpoint). Or as far a real war goes, Saving Private Ryan. Very good. Stands up to Platoon.

Yeah.. I'm one of the rare and few chics who LIKE action, war, and good horror movies!

I'm selective with which horror ones I like. I don't get much into the run of the mill Jason/Freddy/Halloween sort of things, where there is one creepy dude going around killing all the teenage girls and guys in a group of friends. *yawn* (Scream and Scary movie were a pretty funny jab at those though)

I like more of the pyschological and somewhat messy ones, like HellRaiser, the Shining, the Hannibal series, and the remake of House on Haunted Hill. The new one called the Ring looks plenty creepy too. Oooo...

Heh, it's "REZnorite...", but I can see why you made that mistake

Hmmm...Everyone seems to be naming great movies. The ones on my list are only for when you're in the mood for the... *duh duh DUH* Killer B's

These are the best of the worst in my opinion

1. Faster Pussycat Kill! Kill!
2. Cannibal: The Musical
3. Cannibal Women in the Avacado Jungle of Death
4. Nymphoid Barbarians in Dinosaur Hell
5. Werewolves on Wheels
6. Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town
7. Killer Clowns From Outerspace

Ok, Rez, You're stating that I should be defecated on by a wild boar for stating Resident Evil, yet you put Pauly Shore movies on your list... And plus, I love RE, the movie was good, not as good as the games, but good. Resident Evil is an amazing franchise. Capcom had no idea what they had when they made RE1. And think about it, think of where Resident Evil is now, and will be, and think of Pauly Shore... Where is his life going...? Not to mention his career.

And you placed "Every Star Wars Movie"
Did you see Episode 2? Were you awake? I know it's easy to fall asleep through that thing, but seriously. It bit. Hayden should be tarred and feathered. He has no emotion, he's like an effin' robot. His part could be better acted out by Bruce Campbell. Skelleton-Dude will back me up.

But I do admit, most of your list is good, I.E. the Crow Movies.
And a P.S., Killer Clowns From Outer SPace: Great B movie, It gets me all excited when Sci-Fi plays it. :)

-WILD HEARTS CAN'T BE BROKEN
-THE BLACK STALLION
-RETURN OF THE BLACK STALLION
-BLACK BEAUTY
-STAR WARS(all of them)
-STAR TREK(all of them)
-anything sci-fi
-anything fantasy
-anything martial arts
-BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA
tons more...

Resident evil games are good, but the movie is pretty much crap. Too kiddified, you can hardly see any blood in it.

I recomend:

Crocodile Dundee I, II, & III
Ghostbusters I & II
Karate Kid I
Dragonheart
Shrek
Monsters Inc.
X-Men
The Matrix
Planet of the Apes (the new one)
LiarLiar
Original Star Wars Trilogy
Lord of the Rings
Spaceballs
Robin Hood: Men In Tights
Austin Powers I & II (Don't crucify me, I just haven't seen the third one)

That's all I can think of right now. And it is, of course, leaving out the TMNT flicks.

Ok, Rez, You're stating that I should be defecated on by a wild boar for stating Resident Evil, yet you put Pauly Shore movies on your list...You don't understand...it's not that I don't like RE, it's that the movie itself was corny, cheesy, horrible effects and acting...just downright awful. And anyway, I guess you didn't notice the small row of smilies I put, which indicates that I'm just screwing around with you.and think of Pauly Shore... Where is his life going...? Not to mention his career.Perhaps, but the ones I listed were made YEARS ago...I'm not concerned with how he is now. Besides, I didn't like them for Pauly Shore...I liked them because they made me laugh. And you placed "Every Star Wars Movie"
Did you see Episode 2? Were you awake? All the way.I know it's easy to fall asleep through that thing, but seriously.Well, sorry to hear that it didn't satisfy your 100% action craving, but it was an integral part to the story. I will agree with you on Hayden Christensen's part, but like I said above, I saw it for the sake of seeing it, not to pick at the acting.

If I already listed these, then quote where I said it in the list, please:

-The Evil Dead
-Evil Dead 2
-Army of Darkness

Your mention of Bruce Campbell sparked the idea.

TITAN A.E.

That was an AWESOME movie, man!!!

Brodie

Mentioning Bruce Campbell, I just got the new McFarlane Ash Vs. Evil Ash 2-pack. This set is AMAZING! The detail, is fantastic, the hair, blood, cuts, slashes, Bruce Campbell's chin. Interchangable hands(Well, mechanical hand and chainsaw...), The Necronomicon Ex Mortus, Tiny evil Ash with the fork (Even has a grin!!). Evil Ash has a tattered cloth cape... These are two of the most amazing toys I've ever seen. Hell, Ash by himself sells for $30. And the set of the two only cost $15.95.... Needless to say, this set is....Groovy...

Wow, if that didn't seem like a toy plug, I dunno what does.

Sure, RE the movie was corny, but it's the pure fact of knowing "Hey, this is based off a kickass game" It makes ya' feel all warm inside. Heh.

Along with the movie thing, TV shows may be a good thing.

I'd recommend Smallville, best tv show based around a comic book I've seen. I bet the new TMNT cartoon will be up there too.

*lol* I also like Star Wars, but ep 2 was bad. My husband DID fall asleep in the theatre (the only way to escape) and I got a headache cause the lite sabers were moving so fast i couldn't see the action. The only cool party was when Yoda kicked A.

Mouse... you liked the Black Stallion movies too? :D I grew up watching those and collecting the book series. Buit I think the books were much better. THe second movie was changed tooo much for my liking.

And yes, Titan AE is cool too (as well as a fine peice of eye-candy). I don't know what they say it was like Star Wars. Hardly seems like it to me.

Oh... and another one of my favs: Braveheart. Freeeeeeedom!

And the Bruce Lee and Jet Li flicks are kick A too. Mmmm... !

Karpo_007
11-06-2002, 12:57 PM
I love Star Wars, the original trilogy anyway. The new ones aren't that good... Basicly the Down fall started with Return of the Jedi. I have heard that some writer who helped to create the plot left after "Imperium stikes Back". Writing was left entirely to George Lucas and and then came the ewoks. Then gungans, and so forth. Return of the Jedi wasn't a bad movie, but it is the worts episode of the original trilogy.
