Just finished viewing the new sneak peeks and it looks as though Baxter Stockman is now of the darker persuasion. I'm not being prejudice and I am not saying he can't be, but it just seems kinda weird. I was expecting a really crazed looking white man. I was fooled!

Like I said I am not being prejudicial against it, I just think it is different...refreshing but different. :D

~Are you asking who Peter Laird is? He didn't do any voices. He is the co-creator, along with Kevin Eastman, of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Those are the guys that first drew Baxter Stockman as an African American mad man. :P Among other things.
The new cartoon doesn't look like the old cartoon cuz the new cartoon is supposed to more closely follow the original black and white Ninja Turtle comic books which incidentally, was not written for children.
Peter Laird is also the guy who has begun publishing the newest black and white TMNT comic book with his friend, Jim Lawson. He's also the guy who is prolly almost entirely responsible for there even *being* a new cartoon series.

Nerdy Baxter was cool, cause he got pushed around so much, then ended up as a badass one he was the Fly. And hated everyone.

Those who wrote the CARTOON story bible changed Baxter's race and expanded the characters invovlment in the mythos, they also went a step further with the character had him mutated with a fly. I liked him as a fly but it's not part of the comic so it's jettisoned. I didn't get the real story of the turtles when i saw the cartoon in 1987. Hamato Yoshi isn't Splinter and while interesting in the 1987 cartoon it's not what the comic creators intended.

~The only creative conflict that I'm aware of between Eastman and Laird was over Venus. There are conflicting stories about whether Kevin created her, or merely supported Saban's introduction. It's pretty certain though that NT:TNM would never have come into being unless Venus was included, so Peter's objections to her were drowned out. Since he now has sole ownership he has been able to remove Venus from the official universe.
And Kevin was not "forced" out. That much I know. I would guess that his selling out his share of the TMNT had to do with money...things like this most often do.
I don't see how Peter could be perceived as not respecting the idea of the TMNT since he co-created them...and is the one helping to return them to their original concept.

Eastman did not create venus, but was not so much against her than Laird. And the fact that they live in diffrent states and Eastman working with Heavy Metal, he sold his share. There was no forcing involved.

And there are some, myself included, who think Venus was a good idea, and we all joined the Venus fan group on Yahoo!

Well I like NT TNM, don't give me that look, for what it was it was good, I mean it came from the same company that does Power Rangers so expectations were'nt high. Personnaly I loved the concept of Venus, if not the real deal and some fan-Fics I've read with her in them were great, she can be made cool. Ok so the Hummer was a little of the top, the sound effects were over used, Wick- no comment. But It did give us Bone Steel, I love Bone Head, he is you of my favorite villians, simpley because hes not a villian, he just hunts. Of course you need to know I also watch Armada every new ep in the vain hope that the kids will be killed horibbly and skinned alive by megatron feed to Hot Shot, so my opinion may not be the best

I love shredder's new look and it is very appropriate because he sorta looked like the ultimate Shredder in TMNT 3 Manhattan Project for NES if you can remember still, lol, I loved that game... a robe or cape is mostly for concealment and/or ornamentation. it is unlikely he would wear it were he discovered in battle.

In the first issue none of the TMNT were a match for him beofre they used the group attack. Of course at the end of Return to New york, Leo could do it by himself. I guess they had grown a lot in those few years.

It wont be nothing like the original show. Original cartoon was boring, it had no continuity. Most people including the original Creators of TMNT Eastman and Laird has admitted it was boring. And now that Laird is in control of things, it wont ever become like the old show.

And to make one thing clear, as a Kid, i didnt think that the cartoon was boring, I liked it back then. But now that i have watched almost whole show in last months I must say that you can easily over grow it.

And as for the new show, No one knows will it be good or bad yet. Not until it premieres. What we do know is that Plot will be good and I have heard good things about the animators. what can go wrong?

When did you last watch it? I didnt find it boring as a kid neither. It was now that i watched the show again. Of course it isn't meant for older audience, you would need a kid to make a fair judgement.

I Dunno It Must Be The Kid in me. I Love It.. The Best Cartoon Ever. When I was little i would watch the show and read the Archie comics it didn't get any better then that.

don't forget playing with the toys, wearing the clothes, readying the pop-up books or other books (besides the comics), eating offa some TMNT silverwear or plate or tv trays...
