No, no, nooooo...
That thing is molded in one solid-color piece of plastic. No paint details, no DETAILS PERIOD! He has painted eyes, and a snap on mask!?
I'm sorry, but that's bulls**t. I won't officially say this until I have the figure, but this thing is the front runner for Worst Contemporary TMNT Figure.

I hope new figs keep coming! There is is many to collect and they are all available sooner or later. This line is so much fun. I just hope the quality and play value improves on the next batch. :)

There was very little detail in the character period....that's just the way he is....

Don't worry, I'm sure he'll grow on you. You'll probably be one of those people who are envied at after a pics of your Dark Assassin army.
Yea...this fig doesnt look too hot...while i'll agree that in the cartoon, the assasins overall were a plain bunch, by the looks of it, they might've gone a lil overboard in the utter lack of paint details...

I just can't be happy with sub-par products for the price I pay. Look at this Happy Meal Toy, and look at the Ultimate Ninja (or ANY figure), and tell me you think they're on the same level?
If they wanted to go with the shadow idea, why not cast him in a translucent plastic? Then do a paint wash of black or dark grey over that to pick up the details? Just because a character is designed one way doesn't mean the toy has to translate exactly that way. I mean, the actual TMNT figures look nothing like the TMNT character designs!
I'll still pick one up (of course), but as a paying customer, I reserve the right to criticize a product.

I do have to agree with whats been said I'm going to buy this guy but....seriously....it could have been sculpted allot better I don't know whos sculpting at the moment but it's not good...they look like they've gotten one of the old power rangers toys sculpters to sculpt these things there not up to par with the other turtle figures of any time period.....
I mean seriously with this figure alone let's see he's suposed to be be black if they wanted to be cool they could have simply made the toy of black plastic and gave it a blue wash or used a black and shimmery blue plastic mix.....
and the helmet...wtf is with that crap....they didnt wear those in the show....i'm all for cool accessories and all but thats just absurd...

Ok...i bought one....and i must say...blech....he's made of flimpsy rubber....see this pic...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/Jesterangalo/P1000724.jpg
Note that there is a extra torso that is i guess "arrmor." it's hard plastic that makes him look more built...and not so weird....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/Jesterangalo/P1000723.jpg
since he's a rubber upper half.....his arms are stuck like that...good when playing, cause their moveable.....but suck cause if u just display them, he's stuck....as u can see u can take the suction cups off...cause the the hads are also hard plastic and come out of the rubber arms very easily....except for the fact that the hand's peg is a little long and kinda protrudes from the elbow....but not to bad....a fun fig...but kinda goofy how they did him....

Is that extra torso loose in the package, or is it something you figured out you could take off? I can't imagine Playmates wanting to put a figure out that looks as bad as he looks with the skinny torso. It doesn't even come close to matching up with the lower-body...and absolutely no upperbody articulation? Thanks for the review, it's even worse than I thought!
Gee Playmates, way to go. I love the TMNT line, but damn boys!

I figured out it was removable....it was weird....i thought i may have broken it....yeah...my thoughts exactly...playmates is really droping the ball....Pete should really think of movin ther franchize to another company...Toybiz seems to have re-vamped their packing policy....maybe they could do a line worth of the TMNT....

I'll probably buy the figure. I don't care how sucky the figure is I'll buy it anyways. The figure looks better with the armor on. I could use a Dark Assassin figure anyways.

Hmm I haven't found the Assassin, but I love the character so I am going to buy him regardless if he's crap or not LOL

That's the gimmick, he's made of like sticky hand material, I actually really like it. Instead of the sticky arms we could have just gotten the shoulder joints like normal, when posing it wouldn't have made that much of a difference anyways. This way it's a lot more fun to play with him. If I could find anymore I would buy them, but I've only found one. I guess kids are eating up this gimmick, and I have to admit that if we have to have gimmicks this is one of the cooler ones. The head and chain are made of the rubber too. I don't know why the included a hard plastic chest but it does make the figure look better compared to the skinnier rubber torso.
