I've noticed a resemblence in the animation of the new TMNT show with the numerous Batman shows that have been released over the last 10 or so years. I'm refering to Batman: The Animated Series, Superman, Batman Beyond, and Justice League.

In my opinion these shows set the standard for action cartoons for this generation. So as far as I'm concerned, if the new show resembles them that's a good thing.

Anybody else think so?

Not me...but if that's the norm, then so be it.

Unfortunately, I doubt they are like the Batman shows. Batman TAS did set the standard and has done wonders for the Cartoon word, but this is more like Jackie Chan's Adventures...which is just basically drawing with a lot less detail.

I thought it looked like the ripped them right out of JLA as well, but not Batman. They aren't dark enough to be Batman.

Yeah it will be little darker like Batman tas. Probably the animation has more detials, if they look the same as those pics we have seen.

I personally wouldn't mind the new TMNT cartoon somewhat resembling BTAS. I like the look and format of the BTAS cartoon.....I guess if the new TMNT changes to this style it will be sort of pointed towards the now adult TMNT fan....since most of us that played with they TMNT' toys originally are either in thier 20's...or fast approaching them ;)

It will be based on the orgina Mirage plot so it will definetly be darker.

that's so awesome, cause I love those shows, even tho all I have seen of Batman Beyond is Return of the Joker movie...

I don't care as long as they don't mess it up

If the TMNT really fight this time there's no problem.

yeah it does resemble those shows and of course Jackie Chan adventures. Thats the new american animation style these days. It looks good and uses anime concepts here and there, but can also be preety bad.

There is nothing wrong with anime. Japanese can animate action far better than Western companies. Of course there is the big eye thing... Luckily in recent years Wstern animation has gotten better. Take the New He-man for example.

yup, I agree, I don't have much of a problem with the big eyes you can get used to them, american animation has improved, especially since 80s, hopefully the turtles will be able to revolutionize this field like they did in the late 80s

I hope so too.

Batman TAS, is not based on Anime styles for the record. Batman created a whole new style which was drawing on Black backgrounds instead of white.

I doubt Turtles will reach as good as those heights, BUT, I'm betting for some good animation.

Anime is good, but I'll take GI Joe or Transformers any day over all that Gundam,Dragonball crap.....YOOOOOOO JOE!

Nobody said anything about batman being anime. And I believe we will see pretty good animation in the new show.

actually, the animation of the turtles in the 80's was teh worst of it's time. It was not good animation compared to all the other shows out there, it got better along time though, and i find myself loving that animation, because i grew up on it.

The quality of animation dropped after first season. But i think i heard it got better in the red sky eps. Im still going at euro eps.

actually the quality improved after the first season, it wasn't sketchy, you may prefer the animation in season 1 cuz it was darker, but in cases of animation and no biased thoughts, the animation was better as the seasons followed.
I think you just like the darker animation and that's why you say that.

No. It is a fact that the animation was it's best on the first season. Thats because it was done by Japanese. That is why the first season has the best fighting scenes. Japanese animator were not involved in the seasons that followed so the show sitched to comedy. There were still some fights scenes but the animation was really bad in them. I have now watched season 1-6 in the lst few months, about 1 or 2 episodes per day, I know what im talking about. I dont know what you meant, but it is a fact that the best fights were in the first season. If you are talking about animation in some other sense than fighting scenes, you could be right.

Er... actually Batman TAS's (and the other Dini/Timm DC series) animation style has quite an anime/manga influence. I think Bruce Timm even said so -- or that could just be my mind playing tricks on me again.

Personally, I really liked how they were drawn in 1993, right before the red-sky episodes. Infact, '93 was around the time they started getting alittle edgier and less kid-friendly. I mean they had Donatello nearly kill Shredder and Raphael openly admitted that he dispised some humans.

Yeah it gets better in that season.
