TMNT RPG - Chapter 3

[Kali]

Okay, for several reasons, I've decided to make a new chapter for this RP. It's a direct continuation of chapter two, so if you plan to play, I suggest you read at least that one. At least skim it. Chapter one is optional. Where we are: Leo's out for a run, away from the lair, startled by something. Mike, after his near crash, has gone out to look for him. Splinter, Oni, and Raph are in the living room, where Oni's hearing a voice. Splinter's had a premonition of evil. Don's in his lab, working on something.
Until further notice from their players, Raph and Splinter are public domain. Try to be true to character. I'd appreciate no interruptions this time.

Raph sat back down on the couch and propped his feet up on the coffee table. "Hey, Oni, wanna relax and watch some TV with me?" he smiled at the female Turtle.

Oni thought for a moment. "I think I will." She sat on the other end of the couch and Raph scooted over towards her.

Splinter stood watching them for a minute before retiring to his room to meditate.

Hey guys! i just finished cracking the code on the latest invention check it out!

Leo and Mike return to the lair. "What are you working on this time, Don?" Leo asked.

[HorseTechie]

((I'll assume this is kosher))

With everyone else returning tot he main room of the lair, Raph sighed and got up from the couch. ~So much for getting a little closer...~

"Want anything from the fridge?" he asked Oni anyway.

[Kali]

"A glass of water would be nice, Raphael."

So would...

'Shut up!' Oni told the voice. She wished it would just shut up. She turned to listen to Donatello talk about his invention, hoping to tune it out.

Raph filled a glass with ice and water, then got a bag of chips and coke.

"Here ya go," he returned, handing her the glass before reluctantly sitting at the other end of the couch.

"Thank you, Raphael," Oni smiled.

Leo grinned. "Great job, Don." He looked around. "Where's Master Splinter? Does anyone know why he had Mike come get me?"

Oni nodded. "He said he had a bad feeling about something, and that he wanted you all here."

Leo frowned. 'If Splinter's having premonitions too... Then this must be serious,' he thought.

Raphael looked over what Don created, raised an eyebrow, then let it be. "Yeah, as great as that other thinga-ma-jig last month, that ended up squirting ketchup all over the place..."

He crunched on some chips, thinking about Splinter's concerns, which could be legit, but he decided it was so that he couldn't have any time alone with Oni. Especially if Leo and Mike are watching for any more romantic displays.

Splinter was rudely awakened from his meditation by Donatello's call. He stood and entered the living room, glad to see all his sons, and Oni, there.

"I know you do not like to stay home like this, but I sense a great evil approaching."

Leo faced Splinter. "If there is something out there, I think we should find it first, before it gets a chance to attack."

Raph looked once to Oni, then to Splinter. "What... kind of evil is it then?"

[Dr. Terminus]

And how bad

((Uhm, I'd like to join, could some one please explain whats going on and where the TMNT are at so I can place my character?))

(OOC: The Turtles are all in the lair, discussing what they should do about Splinter's premonition of evil. (Which has something to do with the voice Oni's hearing, but they don't know anything about that yet.) Welcome aboard, BTW.)

Splinter sighed. "I do not know what stands against us, but I do know it is dangerous."

You'll find out just how dangerous I am soon...

'Hush!' Oni lowered her gaze. She had to get away from them. Maybe...

"Then we can't just wait here for it to strike," Leonardo said. "We need to do SOMETHING."

[HorseTechie]

Raph cruched another handful of chips, then pointed to Don's latest invention. "We can fend him off with this! Or..."

He was noticing again just how mysteriously quiet Oni was. And it just intriqued him all the more. So dark, so brooding. "What do you think, Oni," he asked her with a creeping smile across his face.

(Okay, good, thanks! Warning... Randi will be liking Raph too)

Randi’s entire body screamed for rest as she continued to run down the sewer tunnel; she couldn’t stop! She couldn’t rest! She HAD to loose them! She turned and fired at the group of them, as three went down, she turned and began to run again. She needed to loose them, but how? Her mind races with all the possibilities. She was too mentally tired to even begin to think about using her psychic powers and being physically tired did NOT help matters any. She turned down another tunnel and used it as shielding to fire again at her attackers before running on. THERE!
She pulled herself behind a group of pipes as the men ran by and as soon as they were out of sight, She groaned, slid to the ground and pulled her hooded cloak closer to her body.

Oni looked over at Raph, noting the look in his eyes. "It's safer to be cautious." She looked around, briefly making eye contact with Splinter. "But there's no guarantee that here is the safest place. I've always been taught to make the first strike whenever possible."

Leo grinned. "Exactly. Anyone else with us?"

"Excuse me?" Mike cried. "I almost got taken out by whatever this is! I'm stay here with Splinter."

(OOC: Michaelangelo(the guy playing Mikey) hasn't shown in awhile so I'm keeping Mike out of action for awhile. If he doesn't post in the next few days, someone else can take Mike temporarily. Sorry to Michaelangelo, but we need to keep things moving.)

Randi stayed there for a moment, contemplating what to do; there was always a risk that they would come back through this tunnel looking for her. She had to find a better place to hide as she stood up, however, she saw something on the pipe that caused her to swell in fear. A cockroach.
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” She moved quickly from behind the pipe and backed up against the opposite sewer wall pressing her three fingered hand onto her chest. In a softer voice she said, “I… hate… roaches…”

Randi sighed heavily and decided it was best if she stared moving, especially after that scream. She subconciously pulled her hood on an continued down the tunnel. A song that she had written years ago popped into her head:

The song moved through Her mind at a fast beat and almot put her into a trance as she walked throught the sewers.

Raph sighed then gathered his sai and things. "Where do you think we should be looking anyway?"

"Evil lurks on the streets? What...? You saying there's another crime wave?" Raph gasped, taking off after him.

[Kali]

"Somehow, Raph, I doubt it's a crime problem," Leo said. "But the streets seem a good a place to start as any."

Oni turned her head to the side. "Did anyone else hear a scream?"

[BlitzTurtle]

Randi let out a deep sigh, and started down the tunnel with her hands hovering over the holts of her guns. She wasn't going to risk running into the troops again with out being ready. 'Damn...' She thought as she walked, 'If I hadn't worn out my powers, I could be useing THEM right now to help me out of this.'

[HorseTechie]

"Scream? No..." Raph shook his head.

[BlitzTurtle]

Randi gnashed her teeth as she heard the faint sounds of about 12 booted feet echoing through the sewers. 'Them again...' She thought and quickly sprinted down another tunnel, "Why can't they just give up?" She hissed as she ran.

[Kali]

Oni frowned. "I could have sworn I heard a scream."

Leo shook his head. "I didn't hear anything. Perhaps you're just hearing things."

Oni scowled at him. 'If you only knew,' she thought. "Maybe."

Leo raised an eyeridge at her response. He didn't think she'd take it so personally. "Let's go."

[HorseTechie]

Raph sighed as they made headway agian. They still didn't seem to be very specific as to why they were doing this.

He walked up behind Oni, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Really, you know what it is we're looking for? Or are we supposed to wait for it to jump up and bite us first?"

Again, Randi ignored her aching body as she ran. She wondered if she'd every really escape them, the operation was practically world wide! She almost groaned at the thought that the covort operation had the ONLY mutants in the world! Little did she know that she was about to turn down the same sewer tunnel that would prove that wrong.

[Kali]

Oni blinked at Raphael. It felt...odd getting this kind of attention from someone. His touch wasn't unpleasent, but the question was. "I- I have no idea. Though I doubt 'biting' will be the worst of our troubles."
Why did she feel so bad lying to him? It was usually no problem for her. This should have been so easy.

"Come on," Leo said. "We'll check the surrounding tunnels before heading topside."

[BlitzTurtle]

Just as Randi turned the corner, she collided head first into something much bigger than her an tumbled backwards onto the sewer floor unconcious. (Gee, maybe Randi should have been watching where she was running...)

[Kali]

Leo stumbled back into Raph and Oni. "Whoa!"
'Ow, I guess I'm not completely healed up after all,' he thought, hand against his chest. He looked down at the figure lying on the ground. "I think we may have found something."

Oni knelt down and pushed the hood aside.

Another one? Oh, well, perhaps this could work out...

"They may know something about what we're looking for," was out of Oni's mouth before she could stop it.

Randi groaned painfully and opened her vibrant eyes. "Did any one get the license plate of the blue and Green pick up truck?" She moaned as her pupils began to focus.
As she caught sight of Oni, Randi reacted fast. "Don't TOUCH me!" She bellowed as her psychic powers, still weak, pushed Oni back. Randi quickly scrambled to her feet, guns ready. "Okay... where in.. how...?" Randi groaned, closed her eyes and rubbed her left temple with her left hand (still holding the gun) while having the other gun still aimed in the turtles' general direction. "Ah man... of all the things to happen...." Her eyes shot open and she aimed her left gun at them agian, "Oh wait! I see what they're doing! Usin' my own race AGAINST me, huh? Well it ain't goanna work!"

i got the license plate but it was odd not numbers but a word.

Sai drawn now, Raph stood ready in case this one decided to use those guns. "What?" he just asked, not quite following this fast blur of events. Then Don ran up going on about a license plate, "A what?" he asked him too, then loked back and forth between this new chick, Oni, and Don. "Leo..."

[Kali]

Leo groaned. "Don, can't you see we're in the middle of something?" He looked towards the new arrival. "Look, whoever you are, please, just put the guns down and we'll talk about this." ~'God, I hate guns.'~ "I'm sure it's a mistake." Still, he held his swords in front of him. He wasn't convinced that this was the threat they were worried about, but she was still a threat nonetheless at the moment.

"So where'd you come from, miss Tomb Raider... Washington DC?" Raph asked the new girl.

Randi blinked at Leonardo, 'Okay,' She thought, 'they're obviously not from them... this is good.' Her pupil's, that had been normal, dialated to an impossible size for a moment before retracting to two small dots before returning normal. With a deep sigh, she put away her guns, "Its the other way around... uh..." She gave Raphael a questioning look, not wanting to search his mind for his name. "I-I'm... Randi..."

Leonardo relaxed a little. "I'm Leonardo, and these are my brothers, Raphael and Donatello," he said, gesturing to them as he said their names. "And this is Oni."

Oni gave a little nod. So much for that idea...

"Now," Leo said. "You mind telling us what you're doing down here?"

Randi frowned, "Prolly the same reason why you are down here, Mr. Da Vinci." She crossed her arms, "To keep out of site from the... Human population."

[Kali]

Leo had to fight the urge to glare at her. "Okay, but why at full speed, hmm?"

Oni looked over Leo's shoulder. "Was that you I heard screaming?"

[Dr. Terminus]

I heard the scream to.

[The Rat King]

The sewers are brimming with more activity than normal. The sounds of many footsteps have echoed and sloshed through the numerous areas. That, and the fact that the sewers are a vast place, there were certainly many steps which were probably unheard by the hear.

But there are also eyes.

Eyes that take in every occurence in these murky metropolitan depths. One pair of these eyes takes a few sniffs. A moment later, a group of a dozen darkly-clad individuals almost silnetly whips their way through the much. Satisfied that the immediate danger is gone, the creature gets up on its haunches, taking a few more sniffs. It is just an ordinary sewer rat, with fur as black as the darkness it sits enshrouded in. In another moment it is off, scurrying down one of the sewer tunnels.

The rat meets up with another rat and relays what it had seen before returning to its post. The new relay rat now carries the message to a few more, from there, the message spreads like wildfire.

*Intruders in the master's domain!*

In one of the deepest, most secluded areas of the Manhattan sewer system, a man sits in relative solitude. It had taken him a good many years to find just the perfect place to establish his kingdom, but since he had, he had gone relatively undisturbed ever since. The only company he now enjoys is that of his rodent companions. He has a rapport with them that is unexplainable by modern science. He is their king. The Rat King.

Soon the pensive creatures are in quite a state of anxiety as the message of intruders has quickly made its way back to the center of the rat kingdom. The King sits on a makeshift throne of old plywood and various gold and jewels that have been seemingly lost in the sewer system. He wears a tattered cape that also has similar baubles sewn into it very crudely. He himself is covered with a similar black fur, like that of his rats. It is not real though, and his all too human head, fingers and toes poke out of their respective areas. His head and other parts of the attire are partly wrapped in old bandages. One of the rats climbs across a pipeline and onto the king's shoulder. He frowns, curious as to what exactly is the cause of his friends nervousness. The lone rat tells him of the new intruders within the sewer depths.

"Intruders are not uncommon." The Rat king says calmly. "But we cannot simply let every one who winds their way down here leave without paying a tax...now can we?"

A grin spreads across his face as he tosses his cape to the side and proceeds through one of the rear exits of his lair.

[BlitzTurtle]

"Me? Scream?" Randi shook her head, "No, I didn't scream," She lied and added, "and my reasons for running are none of your concern."

[HorseTechie]

Raph looked at Randi dubiously. At least Oni sounded way more truthful about her purpose here. "Yeah, right... it was a sewer rat instead, huh?"

[BlitzTurtle]

Randi frowned at him and then shook her head, "Look," She said as she began to walk in the direction that she had been headed in before she collided with Leonardo, "I really can't stay in one place for long..." She turned and began walking backwards to face them, "Soo, I'll be quick and tell ya what you really need to know: If you see uniformed mutants running around... feel free to kill 'em, ciao!" She then turned to run.

[Kali]

"Excuse me!?!" Leo ran to Randi and stood in front of her. "You mind running that by us again? 'Uniformed mutants'?"

This could work out after all...
Oni looked around at the tunnels. "Does anyone else feel like we're being watched?"

As Randi narrowed her eyes at him, the crystal brown star that surrounded her pupils grew and almost envoloped every bit of aquagreen in them. "Exactly like I said Uniformed--..." Mid scentance, her eyes widened nerously at what Omi said and her pupil's grew until only a rim of aquagreen could be seen before retracting to thier normal size. She turned to Omi, "I think we are being watched..."

Leo tuned out the others for the moment and scanned the area. Yes, there was definitly something out there. But what? Those mutants Randi was talking about...? Or maybe something else. He set his swords back into defensive position.

Oni held her hoko in front of her and slipped a few shuriken into the other hand. This just keeps getting better and better.

Randi backed up against the wall of the sewer tunnel, "No, Leonardo, it is *not* the mutants I was talking about." Her hands hovered over her guns waiting for a better sign to pull them out.

[The Rat King]

From nowhere, a pleasantly toned voice seems to creep from the murky depths of the surrounding sewage.

"Hmmmmm...several visitors to my blackened kingdom. How marvelous!" The voice says curiously.

The TMNT and their friends turn to exactly the place where the voice had originated from, but noone is there. Sonn a miniscule squeak can be heard. Then another. Then the sounds of many, growing like a tidal wave. Soon the denizens of the sewer, the rats, begin to swarm into the area. They crawl along the walls, the celings, and pratically carpet the floors, but they are careful not to touch anyone within the room.

From the shadows also steps their king. The Turtles and company are in a fighting stance, but the Rat King simply grins, looking over those who are now surrounded by his minions. A pair of rats scurry up from the crowd and climb up to sit on each of his shoulders.

"Well, well, well, what have we here? A curious gathering, yes? No..they have more business here than that, my little ones...I can feel it. Regardless...I am curious as to what brought you...here."

[HorseTechie]

"Well.. I don't think it was you personally," Raph sneered.

[BlitzTurtle]

Randi now had her guns out and aimed at the the human, "Damn... this just gets better and better every second!" she hissed angrily

[Kali]

Leonardo faced the Rat King. "We're just passing through," he said coldly. Then he added, "Actually, we're looking for a threat."

Oni looked in shock at Leonardo. Why would he tell this... human what they were up to?

[BlitzTurtle]

"You may be look'n for it, but I just want to leave the trouble behind!" Randi growled at Leo, not taking her eyes off the rat king

[Kali]

"Right now, I'm trying to avoid as much as possible," Leo hissed back. Then he said to the rodent monarch, "It may be a threat to the sewers." He narrowed his eyes at the Rat King. "The ENTIRE sewers."

[The Rat King]

The Rat King grins. The rats on his shoulder continue to speak with him.

"Hmmm, this threat of which you speak is not unknown to me. My children have looked upon it as well. And far be it from me to hinder your progress in discovering."

He pauses, allowing the rat in his left ear to finish a most useful message.

"In fact, the intruders of which you speak were last seen by my vassals in that direction." He says, pointing to the tunnels behind him. "However, I'm afraid I must be the bearer of some rather unpleasant news. For your visitation upon my lands, I must collect from you a tax. And since this seems to be such a large party...I must ask that it be unique in nature, so that my friends and I can accomadate such a large troupe."

A rather evil grin crosses his lips.

"Now...pay up."

[BlitzTurtle]

Randi scoffed in annoyance, "A tax?" She shook her head, "Unique in nature?" All she had in her stachel was a make up bag full of unmarked bills, a bottle of water, and a small bag of chips.

Leonardo paused. "A tax..." He turned to the others. He had nothing on him aside from weapons.

Oni searched through her pockets and pulled out one of her kakute rings, gold with a bright blue gem. "Will this do?"

[BlitzTurtle]

"Woah, uh... Oni, was it? Don't bother with giving him your stuff." Randi looked up at the Rat King, "Would three thousands dollers in unmarked cash do? Not like I'm going to use it."

[HorseTechie]

Also not happy of the thought of giving up his weapons and shiruken, he just glared at the Rat King. But his eyes widen upon Randi mentioning the large sum of money she had with her.

"Whoa.. is that why they are after you?" he whispered to her.

Randi shook her head very slightly, waiting for the Rat King's answer. ~No...~ Randi's voice said in his head, ~Actually, its my life savings...~

~Yo, Raphael,~ Randi's voice said in his head again, ~Was that Donatello dropped as a kid?~

Raph blinked and shaked his head, when he heard a voice echo in it. Great, now he's really going crazy!

[The Rat King]

The King turns from Oni for but a second, scoffing at the money. He had as little use for it as just about anyone. Quickly though, he returned his attention to the young girl.

"Yesssssss...that ring will suffice."

[BlitzTurtle]

Randi raised her eye ridges, but shrugged; hey, if this guy didn't want it, then she could still use it for emergancies

[Kali]

Oni hesitantly stepped forward and handed over her ring.

Leonardo let out the breath he had been holding. "We'll be on our way then."

[The Rat King]

The Rat King cups the minute piece of jewelry gently in his hand. He admires the blue gem. The piece would make a nice addition to his collection.

With a smirk on his face, he returns his attention to the group.

"Yes, proceed, with blessing of the Rat King."

He says with a ominous tone in his voice. They had paid for their entrance into his lair. He saw no further need to associate himself with the likes of them for now. He was curious as to who else was roaming the sewers. Perhaps he would find out.

But that was irrelevant at the moment. Smiling evilly he disappaears into the shadows. In turn, the rats which had surrounded them all began to dissipate back into the murky areas from whence they had come. Only a few stayed behind, chittering amongst themselves.

(Hrm... perhaps I should do a short bio on the troop chasing Randi, no? Perhaps just the leader... I'll do that later)

Randi watched the Rat King dissapeared, "I think I'll be going now."

[HorseTechie]

Raph narrowed his eyeridges as he watched the last of the rats scurry away. Something definately was not right in what just happened. But Randi was the leats of his concerns at the moment.

Dark eyes shifted back to Oni, "What *was* that... ring? Why did he want it most?"

[Kali]

Oni shrugged. "It was one of my kakute. Just the first thing I pulled out. I thought he might like it. It was that or the money."

"Kakute?" Leo asked. The name sounded familiar...

"A weapon," Oni answered. "Disguised as an ordinary ring." She pulled out a similar one, this one a non-reflective black with symbols carved onto it. She slipped it unto her finger, avoiding the small, sharp spikes. "I probably would have pawned it anyway."

Leo nodded, then looked over at Randi. "You shouldn't be wandering around down here alone."

[BlitzTurtle]

Randi turned and raised her eye ridges at Leonardo, he obvioulsy had no idea of what all she had done during her life. "What, you think I'm helpless or something?" She shook her head, "Well I'm not." She turned to leave again.

[HorseTechie]

"Wait a minute, willya?" Raph grabbed onto Randi's hood on her cloak to keep her from going anywhere. He turned his head back to Oni with a intent look. "If you say the ring can also be a weapon, then what does it do?"

[BlitzTurtle]

Randi crossed her arms and frowned at the group of them, "Meeting y'all will deffently hinder my progress, I can see that now--and will you *please* let go of my hood?!?"

[HorseTechie]

Raph continued to hold onto her hood as he waited for Oni's reply.

[Kali]

Oni showed Raph ring she had on. "There are spikes, see? They can lacerate with a simple punch or slap." She shrugged. "It's a kunoichi tactic. They can be poisoned but I usually don't do that." She frowned. "Now that I think about it, there WAS something about that other ring. There was a small compartment under the gem, but I don't recall having anything in it."

Leo addressed Randi. "I don't think you're helpless, but if you've never been down here before you can easily get lost or hurt."

Right now, Randi was helpless, she wasn't about to pull away for fear that her only cloak would tear; a part of her wanted to teach Raphael a lesson in the way that only a psychic could, but the other part of her didn't want to hurt another mutant turtle. As Oni explained the purposes of the rings, Randi struggled to think of a good way to get her hood out of Raphael's grasp without harming him or, (judging by the looks of Raphael's strength and how it felt like she had ran into a wall when she collided with Leonardo), him harming her.
"Currently, I'd rather be hurt and lost then stuck here." She replied, trying to sound somewhat respectful to the turtle, "I really do mean it when I say that I cannot stay in one area for long."

Randi blinked at Donatello before looking up at Raphael, "Is that guy mentally slow or something?"

Leonardo sighed. "Not usually. Let's get going, see what we're up against."

He signaled for the others to follow him down the tunnels the Rat King had indicated.

"Correction, what y'all are up against." Randi muttered to Leonardo, "I'm not a part of this, as soon as he," she looked up at Raph for a moment, "Lets go of my hood, I'm gone."
~And I suggest, Raphael,~ She told him psychically, ~That you do let go.~

Raphael clicked his tongue, after looking over her ring. "As long as the Squeak King doesn't use that against us at some later date..."

He looked over to Randi, forming his reply when that voice echoed in his head again. "It is you," he mused as he let go of her hood. "But you know too much of us now..." Raph looked to Leo, "You think it'll be a good idea to just let her run?"

"I know too much about a lot of things." Randi replied quickly. How was she going to explain to them that their secret was safe with her? "If I'm ever caught, trust me, I plan to forget everything."

Leo thought for a moment. "I'm sure she's not going to turn us in, Raph. Especially not to the humans. She didn't have to warn us about the mutants after her, or help us with the Rat King. I think we can trust her."

He turned to Randi. "But I still can't let you stay out here alone. I'm not worried about only our safety here, I'm worried about yours too. I think we'd both prefer if you weren't captured at all."

"..." Randi frowned, she had to admit that what Leonardo said had some logic to it; and traveling in a group would be a bit safer, especially if they knew their way around the sewers. The more that Randi thought about it, the more worried she became for their own safety; if she traveled with them and Colonel Marx and his troops found them... she shook her head not wanting to think of the consequences. "Fine, but keep in mind that I do have other mutants after me, and I cannot be blamed for what they do..."

Randi didn't reply, she was too deep in thought. What if she couldn't make it in time? Was there a faster way to stop it all? An idea entered her mind that she had once rejected because of several reasons; now, however, it seemed as if it could work...

Meanwhile:

Colonel Marx sneered and wipped his rope-like tail in annoyance, there were too many tunnels down here! She could have easily gone to the surface! There had to be an easier way to find that fugitive! He turned and narrowed his eyes at his his second in command, "We're going back to the base!"
"Sir, maybe if we spr--..."
"Spread out?!?" Colonel Marx sneered at the cat, "You do realize who we are chasing do you not? You DO realize that she can easily defeat the likes of YOU on a one on one bases, do you not?"
"Yes sir, but if we kept in groups of five or m--..."
Colonel Marx's gaze made the cat shut up.

Leo scanned the area as they walked. Something about this seemed odd. Fate had thrown some strange things their way before, but this one he had mixed feelings about. On the plus, they'd found more of their kind, females to boot, though he didn't dwell on that thought for long. There was more to worry about, like those mutants Randi spoke of, and Splinter's premonition. Were they connected, or were there two seperate troubles awaiting them?

Oni walked silently beside and slightly behind Raphael. This changed her plans considerably.
'I'm not letting you do this,' she thought.
Need I remind you that you have no choice?
She glanced at Raphael before fixing her gaze foward again. There had to be someway of getting herself out of this situation.

Raph returned Oni's glance with a questioning look.

Randi looked between the two and then up at the cieling of the tunnel and asked aloud, "Pourquoi je?" Randi wasn't French, but she prided herself in knowing a bit of the language.

Leo peeked around a corner before proceeding. He heard Randi mutter something in French, but dismissed it. He had the nagging feeling that this was a bad idea, that Splinter was right and they should have just stayed home.

He also had the nagging feeling that he had missed something important.

Raph gritted his teeth,,, the suspense here was starting to eat at him!!!

Randi eyed the four other turtles as they walked, wondering exactly what it was they were searching for. She wasn't sure if she really cared or not, but it seemed that they at least wanted Randi with them for now; she let out a soft chuckle, that would soon change--it always did.

Oni felt herself get tired. 'Oh, no...' She stopped and leaned against the tunnel wall.

Time to do what we came here to do...

"What now?" Randi asked Oni with an air of worry and annoyance, "Are you okay?"

[Kali]

Leonardo stopped and turned back to the group. He saw Oni propping herself up against the wall and started to worry. He didn't like that glazed look in her eyes. "Oni?" He approached cautiously and placed a hand on her shoulder, only to have it batted away.

"I'm fine," she stated, gripping her hoko.

Leo backed away. Something wasn't right here. He barely had time to move before the prongs of Oni's hoko sliced the air in front of his face.

Something was very wrong.

Randi backed up, muttering something along the lines of, "I will if I have to..." He hands were no where near her guns, however, she seemed to have been talking about something completely different.
If she had to, she would go into Omi's mind; sure,she hated doing so and often felt very disturbed afterwards. For some reason, she always came out of a person's mind haunted by their deepest fear, she couldn't fathom what Omi feared most; but if it could help...

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hey!" Raph was quick to step over to Leo and Oni, sai ready to defend any more attacks. "What's gotten into you, Oni?"

Oni turned to Raphael with unfocused eyes. "Oni can't answer at the moment, but I'll be happy to take a message." She gave Leonardo a swift kick to the chest before charging Raph.

Leo stumbled back in pain, his katana clattering to the ground.

Raph was quick to catch the blade of her hoko in his sai, and then tried to twist it from her hand as he pushed Oni back against the sewer wall in hopes of restraining her. "Oni... please... what's happening?"

Oni struggled against Raphael's hold.

Leo stood. "That's not Oni. She's being controlled by... something." He bit his bottom lip before giving his next order. "Knock her out."

Oni tried to break Raph's grip, but he was stronger than she was, and she had a poor grip on her weapon. "NO!" She brought her knee up as she shoved his shoulder.

Yes, Raph did think Leo had good advice, but now was again one of those times he didn't agree with his order. Not until she drew blood, which she hadn't yet, was he going to get rough.

"Please... stop it," Raph sputtered throught clenched teeth while he brought the hilt of his sai down on her knee in hopes of stopping her. His other sai wrested her blade free and in a flash he spun it around to catch her wrist between the prongs.

[Kali]

Oni clenched her teeth as the hilt of Raph's sai hit her knee. That hurt would linger. Before she knew what was happening, she was disarmed and held with her own weapon. Luckily, her other hand, the one wearing her kakute, was free and she sent a punch towards Raph's face.

Damn it, Leo thought. Why couldn't Raph just follow his orders for once? Leo moved to try and get behind them.

"Oh for the love of..." Randi shook her head and then stared right at Oni, "Don't knock her out--yet." She ordered calmly as her eyes dialated to an impossible extent. ~I hate doing this...~ A voice echoed through Raph and Leo's minds.
Psychically, Randi reached the 'front door' of Oni's mind and attempted to enter. ((Oni, you can decide if Randi can get in or not... and you can decide how far Randi goes and what she sees... think: The Cell))

Oni felt trapped within her own mind, not able to do anything to stop the being who had taken over her body. As hard as she tried, she couldn't wrest control away from the incorporeal cloud.

Then she felt a third presence trying to enter her mind. 'Please help me...' she called out. Hopefully the creature in control would remain distracted by the others it was fighting and not notice the intruder.

Leo looked from Oni to Randi, and he hoped the girl knew what she was doing.

Randi psychically pushed against Oni's mind, trying to find any crack or weakness to get in. ~Oni, its me, Randi! Now, this is your mind! You still have some control! You can easily let me in... despite what that... presence is.~

Oni focused and opened a door to let Randi into her mind. The disturbing thought that there were now THREE people in her mind only made her hesitate a second. She needed help. Because she had been tricked into letting IT in, she had nearly no power to banish it herself.

The demon-entity was in her concious mind at the moment, so she didn't have to let Randi go any deeper.

Randi 'stepped' in and looked about as she began to get a feel of Oni's conciousness, she began to go through the steps that she had created only a few years before on how to encounter other minds. She reminded herself that nothing she saw in Oni's mind was physical but they could still be dangerous. Oni's mind was foriegn to Randi, but even so, she could already sense the other entity(ies?).
((OOC: Basically, Oni, you kinda have to describe the 'world' that Randi sees. Endless halls, rooms to no end, trees, paradise... something dark and scarey (ooh, that would be cool) or something seeming nice and warm...

The landscape of Oni's mind was similar to an endless peaceful field... seen through a filter. There was no color, only shades of gray with deep black shadows. The breeze chilled to the bone and the quiet was eerie. There was a small Japanese-style temple off in the distance. Outside of it was Oni, desperately trying to find a way in.

Raphael braced Oni's blow with the ring, but that hardly made him loose his restraint on her.

"You're really testing me, aren't ya?" he growled close to her ear, before readying his other sai to catch her other wrist. Hopefully that Randi chick could help bring Oni's sanity back before they really have to intervene.

Randi sprinted across the field towards the mental form of Oni. 'That place,' she thought, 'what is in there?'

Outside of Oni's mind, Randi muttered, "Its an important part of her..."

She stopped a few yards short of reaching Oni and called out, ~Oni... Its me, please, tell me whats going on so I can help."

Oni whirled around to face Randi. 'It... it's in my home!' she cried, pointing towards the building. 'I can't get back in! I can gain control again from the inside, but I'm locked out.'

(The temple represents Oni's 'conciousness', her link to the physical world.)

Randi nodded, and began to walk around the house. ~There has to be a way in.~ Randi told her. ~The problem is finding it.~

As they walked around the house, they reached a set of double doors at the other side of the temple. There were no other doors or windows.

'Here's the entrance, but...' Oni pointed to a bar and lock that was threaded through the handles of the doors. 'I've been searching, but there's no other way in.' She sighed and shook her head. 'I feel like such an idiot for letting it in in the first place. You all are in danger because of me.'

~Wha is 'it'?~ Randi asked Oni while muttering aloud in the physical world, "What is 'it'?"
In Oni's mind, she reaced for the loc and chains.

''It' is a demon, though I'm not sure what type,' Oni replied. 'Didn't get a name but that's not surprising.' She looked at the lock and frowned. 'I've been locked out of buildings before, but never locked out of my own mind. Any ideas?'

Leo looked at Randi curiously as she spoke aloud. Well, at least something was happening in there, although the statement was less than encouraging.

~A demon?~ She pulled on the chains agian there was always a way into any part of the mind. Randi knew this from experience with her own mind. ~Damn...~ She looked back out at the field trying to catch sight of some thing that could help.

(Are there any trees? rocks? other buildings such as a shed of some sort? Every thing that Randi sees is up to you...)

A short distance from the temple is a small stream, emptying into a pond. There are three large rocks beside the mouth of the stream.

Back in the physical world, Oni's possessed body is still struggling against Raphael's hold. She hooked her foot behind his ankle in an effort to trip him, or at least catch him off guard long enough for her to get free.

~Hrm... it might work.~ She moved to the stream and grabbed a rock and smashed it against the other rocks causing parts of it to break off and shaping it into a makeshift blade.

Oni watched Randi silently. Then she looked at the temple, her temple. 'I hope this works,' she thought.

Randi went back to the chans and began to strike them hard with the sharp edge of he rock continuously. ~Come on...~

Oni tried to stay out of the way, mostly. Because one, she didn't want to get in Randi's way, and two, she felt a little embarrassed that she hadn't thought of that. It looked like Randi was making progress on the chains.

Inside, the demon, who appeared as nothing but shifting shadow and light, turned part of its attention from the battle it was fighting with Raphael, towards the entrance.

Clever. It pointed towards the doorway and waited.

Rapahel knew his feet were fair game now that her hands were out of commision. After regaining his balance, he twisted his leg around one of hers in judo wrestling fashion. At the same time, he was glad Oni was out of it, cause the postion they were in just did not look good.

~Oni.~ Randi whispered as she continued to strike the chain. ~Get another.~

In the physical world, Randi still standing in a trance.

[Kali]

Oni nodded her head and rushed over to the stream to fashion another blade. She knew they had to hurry because every second she stayed out here was another second the demon had to do damage with her body.

She returned with stone blade in hand, and went to work. It wasn't long before the chain links started to crack.

~I'll be back,~ Randi told Oni, ~You continue working on it.~ She then moved to the stream and worked on making another stone blade.

[Kali]

Oni didn't even notice Randi leave as she continued to strike at the chains. 'Break already...' She'd almost broken through a link when the doors flew open, throwing her backwards. Standing in the doorway was the demon, glaring at the two mutant turtles.

In the physical realm Oni suddenly stopped her struggling and collapsed.

Raph then felt Oni go limp under his restraint, and he stopped struggling against her. "I didn't do anything... she just passed out," he justified himself to Leo as he gently slid his sais from her wrists while easing her down.

Kneeling down, Raph propped Oni on his legs while he brought a hand across her forehead. "Just fight out of it... okay...?" he whispered to her.

[Kali]

Leo knelt beside Raph for a moment. "Yeah."

He walked over to Randi and waved a hand in front of her face. No response. "Let's hope it's a good sign." He turned from Randi and watched Raph holding Oni. 'For all our sakes...'

Randi dodged the bolts as well, 'I have no idea how defeat this thing... would 'Demon, begone' work?' She dodged another bolt, 'NO, I'm not holy enough...'

Raph continued stroking Oni's temples, quietly hoping she didn't spring to life again with the intent to kill. He glanced up to Randi who continued to be in a trance.

He also hoped this wasn't a problem Oni had all the time, this possession of inner demons. And was this the evil premonition Splinter and she feared of? Raph sighed, wishing he could do more to help.

[Kali]

Oni rolled away from another blast. 'We need to get it out of there! Then we'll deal with the next step.' She gripped her stone blade and threw it towards the demon. 'I can fight it better once I'm in control again.'

The demon hissed as the sharp stone sliced it and imbedded itself in the wall of the temple. Not good enough, kunoichi! You're destined to fail!

Randi reached for her guns but remembered that they weren't there in the psychic realm. ~Damn!~ She picked up her own rock, ~Know what, Oni? When I was twelve...~ Sh three the rock directly at the demon's forhead. ~I was a star pitcher for my softball team...~ (You decide if he gets hit or dodges.)

Oni grinned as the rock hit its mark. The demon, angry and wounded, roared and left the temple to fire at a closer range.

Oni glanced at Randi. 'I hate to do this to you, but can you keep it distracted?'

While it was focused on her, Oni headed for the temple, trying to not draw attention to herself. As she ran, she started thinking up a plan for what exactly she was going to do once she got there.

'Just a little more,' Oni thought silently. She was next to the temple now, waiting for her opportunity. It came when the demon leapt away from the temple and landed near Randi.

Oni knew she had to work fast. 'Now, let's do this.' She ran inside the temple, then looked out towards Randi and the demon.

~GAH!~ Randi stepped back too quickly and fell onto her arse both in the psychic and physical realms...
Randi let out a moan as she sat there in the physical realm but in Oni's mind, she was already up and quickly putting distance between herself and the Demon. ~What, an innocent turtle too hard to catch?~

The demon swiped at Randi. You'll keep your mouth shut if you want to live.

From inside the temple, Oni put her plan into motion. She knew her mind better than the demon did, and she was back in control.

As the demon went to attack Randi, it found that it couldn't move its feet. It looked down to see that the grasses had wrapped around its ankles. NO! it cried as the grass and ground spread up its legs.

~Oni! I thinks its bestto PURGE this guy OUT of your mind!~ Randi called out to Oni; however, Randi had no clue on how to do that. Would the lord's prayer work? Didn't she have to be Catholic for it to work?

Oni nodded as the demon struggled against its prison. 'One step at a time, Randi. I'll take it from here. Go!'

Randi broke out oh her trance blinked and glanced to Leo and then Raph and Oni. "We beat it... but its still in there..."

Leo nodded, then turned to Raph and Oni.

Oni slowly opened her eyes. "Raph?" She tried to sit up. "Is-is everyone okay?"

Raph's face just shown relief with a scratch of dried blood on his cheek from where Oni had struck him. "The question is, are you okay?"

Oni smiled weakly. "I've been better." Her eyes drifted to the scratch on his cheek. "I hurt you! Oh, I'm so sorry."

Leo sighed in relief. "Glad to have you back. Come on, let's go back to the lair. Coming, Randi?"

Randi shook her head, "I've got my own problems, if I go to y'all's place, those problems will be close behind."

Raph just hushed her, "It's nothing... but,you have episodes like that often? This wasn't the evil that Splinter was sensing...?" He asked while helping Oni to her feet so they could go home.

He looked briefly over to Randi, 'Hey, did I tell you thank you yet? Here's a 'Thank you' too."

She then decided against it and glanced to Leo warning him a second time, "If I go to your lair, my 'problems' will be close behind--they have nothing to do with possession, mind you, but thy are dangerous none-the-less."

Oni shook her head at Raph's question. "It's a long story, but no, this would be the first time I've been possessed. And I'd like to thank you too, Randi, I owe you my life."

Leonardo looked at Randi. "We're able to deal with problems, but I'll leave it up to you whether or not you want to come. We'll be alerted if anyone comes near the lair, and you look like you could use a rest. We all could."

Sleep? Bah. If only Leonardo knew... but she could some time off her feet, maybe rest her eyes... think... "Fine, I'll come."

Leo nodded. "Let's go then. I want to inform Splinter and Mike of what happened, and Don, I want you to give your security systems a going over, just to be safe. Make sure they're all working."

Oni leaned against Raphael for support because she was still weak from her fight. Rest sounded awfully good at the moment.

Randi followed quietly behind the four, she was rather surprised how they easily trusted her. Was it becuase she was a turtle like them? Was it because she didn't really attack them? (Okay, she pulled out her guns on them, but she didn't really attack) Or was it becuase she helped save Oni's life?
No matter what the reason was, Randi still felt a bit edgy, she knew that Oni was no real danger to herself; but this was only because she had been in Oni's mind... but the other three...

Raph put Oni's arm around his shoulder as they headed back to the lair. This was a fun waste of time, whatever it was. There was nothing out here that he considered a real threat... since it ended up being all in their heads.

Well, maybe Mike would like Randi, she was fiesty enough. But as much as Randi worried about her 'problems' bothering them, she was still following after. Strange girl. Prolly a loner too, like Oni had been.
