yeah, but the folding up into the box thing for easy carry sounds cool, but i'm sure that will make it less detailed, and not as good as the first (and best) sewer system. Until i get this new one in hands i won't really judge it though. thanks cherubae

Wow! $80! This had better be one heckuva playset! Of course, if its got a nice exclusive Splinter...that's reason enough to desperately need it!

it might be $90 for several of the new playsets. Marz Distrib has the pre-order prices for some of the other toys and they're in the $100+ range because there's more then one.

If you were wondering whether we were going to see any playsets in next year's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line... the answer is yes we are...

July 2003 will see the release of the "Turtles Lair playset".

Here's how it's described:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This Deluxe "Turtles Lair" Playset from the TV show features lots of electronic lights and sounds, spring loaded weapons, trap doors and hand operated features. Includes exclusive Splinter figure! Playset folds up into a storage compartment and is easy to carry.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And if you are thinking of picking it up, better start saving as Entertainment Earth has this up for Pre-Order at $79.99.

For more details and the official press release regarding the relaunch of turtles check out our post last month. We've also got some pictures of some of the early items, in case you've not seen them before.

It's a f**king toy!!!!! Why should it cost an arm and a leg?

Entertainment Earth generally sells cases of items. That may be the price for two or three of the playset, not just one. We don't know at this point. Its far too early to freak out.

Cases? Why cases? People generally only want one...are they a wholesaler or something?

I think pre-order prices are generally higher that the actual sale price.
I would wait until closer to the realease date before pre-ordering one. Don't get ripped off.

$80 isn't that much. I've seen toys for $300.

for the $80 range, I'd have to be good, but its not suprising, I could have gotten $500 for my cousind Predaking. But for $80s I'd need to at least see it before I bought it, no sctarch thet I'd need to hold the box in my hands for that much
