What do you guys think wouldn't happened in the old cartoon if Shredder turned on Krang and went his own way, but of course still wanted to take over the world and destroy the Turtles?

I'd say shredder would have ended up very much like he is on the new show more or less...being swauve and sneaky!
I bet he'd prolly even have joined forces with the turtles to destroy Krang who would go mad after shredder left....Bebop and rocksteady would have been ditched theyd have gone back with there gang and be like the leaders....it would be very much like the purple dragons of today.....
they would all have to come together to destroy krangs legons of robotic foot soldiers and rock soldiers I can imagine an old school city at war type deal man that'd be freaking amazing!
I love story lines where the bad guys and good guys come together to destroy an even more so evil power....but that could just be cause I grew up in the 80's haha

Well the new cartoon has both as the same character. So it won't work.

I always thought it would be cool if he mutated into Super Shredder, made it clear that he was head of the foot, and Krang would be his flunky, stuck in his walker. Then he'd mutate Tokka and Rahzar, to be successor to Bebop and Rocksteady, who would still provide plenty of comic relief as the Technodrome's janitors or something. This would have given the show the darker edge they wanted with Red Sky, and not have eliminated Shredder and Krang. At least, this is the story I'm doing with my figures right now, heh heh.

There's a seperate character called Krang in the new cartoon, essentially, he was there for a comedy cameo, but it proves those two are'nt one and the same, Saki has none of Krangs' humour either, he's basically what Krang was in the first five episodes, PLUS all the characteristics of Saki
The only thing that connects him to Krang in any form is that he just happens to be evil.
I prefer to beleive both are the same character as well...but come on...

We saw what happened to Saki without Krang. He trained the crooked ninja turtle gang. Basically, I think he would have ended up being similar to the new show's Shredder, except he'd still be a bumbling idiot.

AND single handidly took apart and shrunk the Turtles in "The Increidble Shrinking Turtles", AND could successfully ambush them at times.
Shredder was a victim of the company he surrounded himself with...seriously, it was always Baxter, Bebop, or Rocksteady that failed him, not himself, he's far from a "bumbling idiot"

Well then he was an idiot for keeping that company and not trying to find people that could actually perform a simple plan in an effective manner...

I meant instead both of them. They have Shredder as a utrom. The red utrom makes the same stupid jokes as krang did.Krang was a lot more pyscho then his new series counter part(red utrom). He wanted to rule the Earth and the entire Universe. All the red utrom wants is get revenge against the other utroms.

Wow...great evidence there, "he cracks the same stupid jokes" the Turtles crack far worse humour in the new series than Saki does, Krang made a joke 24/7, Saki does it only on occasion.

Shredder had other designs prior to being incarcerated in the first place, he does'nt JUST want revenge against The Utroms, they just happen to be first on his list.

Wrong forum buddy, you've clearly never seen the original cartoon, or read the original comics.
Shredder is a Utrom ONLY in the current cartoon, try Ninjaturtles.com for more information, he was made a Utrom so Pete could gain permission to re-enact the ENTIRE sequence from "Return to New York Part Three" with Shredders' decapitation

no i know that- im talking strictly about the new show-
when it was in season one, shredder was dressed up in a big suit with the armor.. etc.. then we found it was just an exoskeleton for an evil utrom.
i havent paid attention to the show in a while, but now i recently watched, and they show "oroku saki" as a humna japanese man-- are there 2 shredders? someone please fill me in
The evil Utrom has two exosuits. Shredder and Saki.

Also the Red Utrom is homage to the old cartoon.
