Issue #20 (Spoilers blah blah blah)

So issue #20 is out. Prepare for spoilers.

Arcs are finally moving and coming together, it seems. Leo and Raph's arcs seem to have merged. Unfortunately, they were given the least amount of time compared to all the other arcs. Leo's reaction was funny, but not what I expected. He took the new Raph in stride.

Don's is moving at the same pace it has been. Though now we know exactly where the whacky Utrom's base is located. A bit of a surprise, but nothing to knock youout of your seat.

Mike's got the most attention. I certainly hope those eggs are his, and it's not somesort of trick. He's all grown up, he deserves to have a family. Needless to say, you can guess what happened in his arc based on the cover. It's FINALLY going some place.

And lastly, my favorite part of the issue was the new Casey arc. Good to see him out and about in his old hockey mask. The bit at the end with April was a shocker. Wonder what she's up to.

Another standard issue.

A bit from Laird in the letters collumn about the new movie, too:

"Meanwhile, I'm continuing to work on the animated series, the toys, the comics, and the movie. In fact, I'm scheduled to have a telephone conferance tommorrow afternoon with the director who has been chosen for the movie project, and we'll be trying to work out the story for the movie. Sometime soon I hope to reveal more details, but I can't, not just yet."

So something's going on with the movie. That's good news.

I picked this issue up today, I enjoyed the part with Casey and thought (Spoiler) I bet thats April in the black jumpsuit. By the look of the cover for the next issue I am already guessing whats going to happen with Don, and it will be nice to see Mikes story now that we see what is happening with him by the last page we see of him.... It would be nice if this book was monthly I find my self forgetting all about it and the story's until I pick up the new issue of the book.

I am looking forward to Tales #8, I wonder if it will be out next week usually its only a week or two after the preview is up on the offical site.

And honestly the whole storyline now is just very creepy. I mean an alien and a mutant turtle... I'm not sure it was a good idea to go there. :lol:

Well, yeah. Biologically, they SHOULDN'T be compatible. It would be like me impregnating a pony, it just doesn't work (and believe me, I've tried).

But hey, it's a comic. And a romance story, at that. Logic gets put on the back-burner for that sort of thing. Besides, Mike's in his early 30's, isn't he? Give the man some kids. A little character developement never hurt.

I'm so happy to see Leo and Raph finally cross paths again. I was hoping that all four would be reunited soon, but that doesn't seem to be the case with Don and Mikey. I'll agree with Buslady that Don's story isn't so great right now, but I think Mikey's has definitely picked up. Miky getting dragged back to the Regenta's home planet will be open up a lot of story possibilities... And maybe we'll see the other three turtles plan a rescue. :D

Casey and April's story has definitely picked up with this last issue. We still don't know what the deal is with April, but seeing her don the mantle of Nobody is very odd and seems out of character. I'll admit it was pretty surprising, but I wonder where PL will go with this. I'm assuming that Casey/April will be a fourth story, seeing that Leo/Raph have been reunited.

Hopefully I can pick up this comic up today. It sounds intresting. I read the synopsis on the website and I like it. From ninjaturtles.com:The Regenta's bodyguards show up and it's not just another day at the beach for the princess (or Mikey). Don learns that things aren't exactly as he thought they were. Casey Jones dons his vigilante gear and runs into a female version of Nobody on the city streets. Leonardo returns to the sewer lair and discovers Raphael and the Fugitoid. Casey Jones is in it and so is the Fugitoid so it has to be good.

Maybe if they didn't split up then that woulda made it so Mikey wouldn't get shot by that Triceraton. Is Raph's transformation permanent? It'd be kinda weird if it was. Hopefully Pete'll figure what to do with Raph so he's not always morphed. Mikey and Regenta should get back together and the other Turtles should fight the Tricerartons. Were just gonna have to wait till next issue to find out what happens.

well. honestly. at this point thats just your opinion. its not like splinter was killed he died of old age. i mean when people die of old age.. its sad. but its also good. because you realize that that peron lived a good long life. and for another thing. the turtles have aged quite a bit since volume two. they're in there thirties. a lot of the stuff they have done in this series i havent expected. but i mean.. its been like 10 years to them.. and people really change over that amount of time..

im honestly, really enjoying volume 4, every other month i cant wait to get to my comic store n pick up the new issue...i was sad about splinter's death...altho, im not quite sure if it was natural death, cause if i recall, there was a shadow in the doorway n then the next scene it showed him suddenly dropping the tea cup, so i think something or someone may have got him. thats just my thoughts tho.

but on the other arcs, im finding it interesting were seeing what happened to those "lost" utroms. and mikey "possibly" having kids. i also somewhat smell a set-up, cause she couldnt have laid the eggs in that short of time between the issues, i think there someone else's n she just hates the guy who's they are n thinks maybe mikey is a better father-figure, i dont know....raph's arc, im hopin honeycutt can find a cure for him, cause i doubt now its easy for Raph to go above ground. i mean it was tough before, but now that he looks like a mutated snapping turtle thats ready to bite someones head off, and looks like leatherhead kinda now....im also wondering, if leatherhead is ok from that battle with Raph.....and im with Leo, i think karai isnt telling him everything she knows.....but those are just my opinions. and i could be wrong on a few things above(about splinter) but thats what i think.

A man who does not cry, IMHO, is not a man. Its not wimpy to cry when someone dies and i did not say "cry like girls", i never implied them bawling thier heads off...jeez, but they hardly mourned the passing of their father, who was the move important person in their lives.

Pete's letters collum in this issue was shorter than ever, probably due to all the complaints he got for his political comments.

Listen, if Pete wants to be use his letters collum (Which has nothing to do with the story) to express an OPINION, anyone offended by it can just ignore his editorials and read the story, rather than waste thier time and his being babies about some political crap.

Good issue... I dunno, I used to feel like you guys who aren't too impressed with the comic. To me now it keeps getting more interesting each issue. I'm glad Casey and April are finally back, and I was guessing that the mystery-Nobody-girl was Shadow. Her being April surprised me.
I think the guys are acting ok. Some say they are out of character, but it's ten, fifteen years later than other volumes. I know that my personality has changed alot in the last ten years and while I'm still the same guy deep down, lots has changed due to maturing and life experiences. I'm not quite yet in my thirties but I can definitely attest to the fact that people, or in this case turtles, change.
The letters page is something I enjoy reading every month (lots of comics unfortunately don't include letters pages) and it was short and sweet this month. I like the 3-5 pages it usually is..

I finally got #20. It certainly had some interesting moments. I liked the whole Casey/April thing. It's good to see Mr. Jones breaking some skulls again. Mikey looks like he's in a crumby situation. Let's see where it goes from here.

My critique of Volume 4 to date still stands. It's moving too slow and the stories don't appear to be making much progress with each issue. I'm desperate for the Leo/Eunuch warrior story to move forward but it's moved nowhere in 4 issues. I'm also desperate to see more of uber-Raph in action. I just wish the pace would quicken soon.

Was it ever reavealed at all that the eggs where indeed Michaelangelo's or where they fake? This is sort of got me on the edge of my seat. Although the fact that those might be Mikey's kind of freaks me out a little :o . Because that means that Michaelangelo had to have actually mated with that alien. Some how the thought of any of the turtles mating with anything just seems a little weird to me. Consirdering that they are mutant turtles and not a normal speciuos. i kind of thought of them as being hybreds and there for steril :|
