Resident Evil 5: In Production

Resident Evil 5 Coming
Capcom producer confirms development, hints at storyline.

March 4, 2005 - Electronic Gaming monthly reports, by way of an interview with Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, that Resident Evil 5 is currently under development.

While there are literally no details to speak of (namely what platform the game will release on and when), the recent interview does confirm RE5 development and also implies that the same changes that went into RE4 would carry over to RE5.

From Hiroyuki Kobayashi's own mouth, "We are going to do a Resident Evil 5, of course, but as for exactly what it will be like...that's something we're busy thinking about right now... [RE4] is the start of a new story line. In other words, when you think of it that way, then it's safe to say that RE5 will naturally proceed from where RE4 left off."

They opened too many doors in 4, to not do a 5, or a 6.

As long as Leon is the main character again, I'm set.

*drools* I dont want RE 4 to be the last game. If it was then they will just keep making crappy spin-off games with the same storyline as the first game.
RE 4's style being put into more games is just what I want
Plus RE 4 made lots of money and got rave reviews. Their going to do what they did with DMC and VJ....make a crappy sequel to a awesone game. Or they awill actually spend time on the sequel to RE 4 and make it better instead of making it a rushed out game made for the soul purpose of cashing in the sucess of its previous title

I still have yet to beat RE4 (which is up next on my purchase list), but from the demo I played and the little bit I played at my friend's house, I'm really looking forward to them making another. I like the way this series is going. It can only get better from here on out...I hope.

No Mekimi means I'm not buying. RE4 is perfection. He delayed it forever, but it was because he wanted it to be perfect. Capcom is just gonna milk it now that's he gone, just like their others

Resident Evil is Mekimi's baby like Mario is Shiggy's baby. It's the same thing.

No Mekimi = less quality.

Now now, I wouldn't be making assumptions like that so soon. Yeah, that will probably be the case, but I want to be sure first. People can make mistakes, too. Code Veronica, anyone?
