$80 isn't that much. I've seen toys for $300.Like what? Sex toys?

sorry karp i woulda picked another up for ya, but it's too late now... if i see an extra and i have the money i'll sell it to ya, btw try ebay or mycomicshop.com or even milehighcomics.com they could possibly be selling it when it comes out

Karpo_007
11-10-2002, 02:46 PM
When is that?

Chris

I think the Leo statue is due out some time this month Karpo, but that may have changed. At latest it will be out before X-Mas. I think you can get it internationally but not directly from the suppliers. My local comic store have said they'll try and get it from some people they know in America (but the price will be a bit higher).

Karpo_007
11-10-2002, 02:56 PM
I hope that someone is willing to ship international.

PWDESAI
11-10-2002, 10:26 PM
i will keep a look out for you karpo, i can understand why you would want this so much, i know i do
next time, maybe if you send me the money in advance i could ask my comic shop store to order it, then i could send it to you. That's if you want any other turtles, and if no one else will sell em to you. I hate sending stuff when i don't need too, but i've known you for a long time karpo, and wouldn't mind doing so...

Karpo_007
11-11-2002, 06:51 AM
Well Im really hoping to find a store that would send it. Afterall if it gets broken on the way i could get a new one.

PWDESAI
11-11-2002, 10:09 AM
well if you want insurance, then the post office has to buy you a new one.

Karpo_007

I think that some shop is willing to ship here. I will ask around when the time comes.

Cases? Why cases? People generally only want one...are they a wholesaler or something?

They're not a wholesaler, they sell to action figure collectors. They specialize in mint conidition figures and packaging.

Personally I could do with buying a case of the figures. I want two of each of them. One to play with, one to keep. I don't want more than one of the vehicles and stuff though.

After what I've heard about toys not exactly increasing in worth over the years, I'm not so sure I want to waste my money on a second one to take out of the package...of course, I'm only saying that because I don't have a job yet

PWDESAI
11-13-2002, 02:05 PM
what're you talking about, toys are extremely expensive over time. Look at the transformers, star wars, he-man, and gijoe. Look at mego or other old action dolls. It really depends on how popular the toy line or toy is...

TMNT should have a price increase after teh new show. I say wait 6 more years and they will get expensive.

MzTheInsomniac
11-13-2002, 02:14 PM
yea right now the value is only 15 dollars but in a few years im sure they will be worht around 50 dollars, ok maybe not that much but we will see the worth increase

Skeletoncrew
11-13-2002, 02:22 PM
I want the ones in the package for myself, not as some sort of "investment". I just have a thing for "unspoiled" stuff.

I love opening up action figs and putting them on display with their weapons/accessories. Though I do have a few I haven't opened, like my 1988 Donatello. ;)

Skeletoncrew
11-13-2002, 07:36 PM
I've got a couple Aprils, a movie star Splinter, and a Venus in their packages. Non-TMNT-wise I have a couple LOTR, all of the Army of Darkness 6" figs, an Italian Lisa Simpson, a Star Wars fig, and a Skeleton Warrior. Some I just haven't opened because I'm sort on display space and haven't gotten around to it.

Say, speaking of LOTR... I managed to get a Ring Wraith action figure on sale at a KB Toystore. It was only six dollars. :D He stands on my shelf, holding a gigantic sword and gesturing with his other hand. He looks totally creepy, as if he walked right off the movie screen. I like him. :anime:

Skeletoncrew

Cool! Ringwraiths rock! I've got the one on the horse...its incredible! KB Toys also rules...I love their sales!

PWDESAI

speaking of totally unrelated toy lines
i love masters of the universe. the toys are totally kicking ass, i hope i the turtles will be just tall enough and bulky enough to interact with the motu figs. Leonardo vs. he-man WHO WILL WIN???!!!

Karpo_007
11-14-2002, 05:22 PM
Toys dont interact by them self... You really play with toys?

And moving this back on topic, I like toys, too. And yes, I play with them.

Heh! I dont know if it should, but adults playing with toys sounds funny. Collecting i can understand byt playing? I guess everyone has their own hobbies.

This world needs adults who love toys. Otherwise, who'd run Playmates? Mattel? Or any of the other big name companies? ;)

Ooh... When you said "adult," were you directing that comment at me? Or just in general? I'm just curious, because no one's ever called me an adult before. I'm still 19! However, some of the others on this board can be considered adults.

Damn the US for making the legal drinking age 21 instead of 18....

Well thats when we get drivers license too.Oh...heh....but you might as well say I live in Finland, because I'm 18 and still don't have one, despite the minimum age here in the US being 16...

itsmillertime!
11-17-2002, 06:56 PM
Well in Washington and Oregon, you can't have people under 25 in your car for the first six months after getting your license or until you're 18. So it might as well be 18. And you can do everything else but buy alcohol at 18 anyways, so why not - there are people way older than 21 that act like a 17 year old and there are a lot of people who are 18 and act as if they're 30 or so. It's a very complex subject.

I still collect, and while I may not play, I do occasionally pull out my new and old Battle Cats, Grimlock, Jim Lee Raph and Tubular Terrodactal and just wonder who would win in a fight

Hmmm...I wonder exactly what it was I posted? However, I was referring to playing with action figures, not battery operated toys.

You know, if you think about it, Roger is kinda like one great big action figure!

Whoo-hoo! Another Portland resident! *Does happy dance*

Ahem. Yes, adulthood is difficult to define. I consider myself an adult legally and emotionally...but I often choose to act in ways that would be considered immature. :tsmile:

I used to love playing with my toys, but now I just like to place them into poses like statues. Of coarse with the turtle toys, it's always been somewhat difficult getting them to stay on their feet.

11-19-2002, 01:06 AM
Yes yes! There are still a few Ring Wraiths floating around. I was thrilled to find one. Hmm... Correct me if I'm wrong, HT, but I thought you already had a Ring Wraith action fig... :ohwell:

Psst... SC, what's a "Twilight Ring Wraith"? I've never heard of such a thing.
*hasn't read any of the LOTR books yet*

Skeletoncrew
11-19-2002, 01:53 AM
I'm not sure...that's just the name of the Ringwraith thats supposedly going to be coming out. The one that was already released was the Witch King Ringwraith.

Not yet, I do not. I have been looking for one, and I have once seen them when I didn;t have any money.

But ooh.. they have another version this year too. Cool! BTW.. when are the new LotR toys coming out. I tried to ask a LotR this once, but they were vague and went back into special edition DVD ramble. :-?

Skeletoncrew
11-19-2002, 02:33 PM
The first wave of new LOTR toys are already out. I've only seen them in a couple of places so far though. Most stores seem to be trying to get rid of the first series right now. Thats why I got my ringwraith for $6. :)

Skeletoncrew
11-21-2002, 01:15 AM
Yeah, LOTR and TMNT action figures make up the bulk of my x-mas wish list. Not that anyone (well, other than my bf) has asked.

HorseTechie
11-21-2002, 11:17 AM
Heh.. still didn't get it yet... was sidetracked by looking for the new TTT figures too. Plus I also felt odd about goingf into a toystore (with no one else in there) while dressed up in my spiffy suit[pants and blouse from work.

But I heard that there is indeed a Gandalf the White and Shadowfax set. I want!

Skeletoncrew
11-21-2002, 12:29 PM
Really? I had been hoping for a Gandalf and Shadofax set, but I hadn't heard anything about one coming out. I know Gandalf the White is out. There is an Aragorn and horse one too.

Much to my surprise, Wal-mart got in an assortment the other day! We have Eomer, King Theoden, Grima Wormtongue, Saruman the White, The Rohirrim Soldier, and I think one other. There was only one Rohirrim out of the 20 or so we had, and that happened to be one I wanted...so I got him!

As before, the detailing is EXCELLENT! HT, you should love this guy...his armor has some excellent horse designs. I must confess though, I find his spear to be disturbingly long.

HorseTechie
11-27-2002, 11:27 AM
Oh yeah.. I think almost all the TTT series is way more detailed than FotR. I liike to get the Rohirrm soldiers you spoke of, SC... and then a toss up between getting Aragorn (whose face looks so much like Buddy Jesus) and the TTT Legolas.

I'm most certainly gonna get Gandalf the White and Shadowfax when I find one. :D

http://www.marvel.com/toybiz/lotr/towers/breakdown.htm?asst_no=81180

I found the pictures of the horse n rider sets....
*suddenly grows fickle* Those poor horses! They're knuckle kneed! :(

Ermmm.. heh.. yeah, I've been spoiled with Breyer models! No matter... I will just put my lone figures on my Breyers then... :o

*has a thought, then goes over to the Breyer website to see if they have any LotR models out*

Mhhh.. nope. Just Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron stuff....

heh... nah, I hadn't found the TTT Legolas. Him and the Rohirrm soldier are on my to-get list yet. Have you tried places like Suncoast and Sam Goody? I saw many of the others there, like Eomer, Theoden, the Rohirrm solders, Sauron and Gandalf, Grima, and those orcs. At least I now have the TTT Aragorn... :D

*wonders if the last wave of TTT figs will come out when the TMNT ones do*

12-03-2002, 07:26 PM
Ah, okay then. There is still hope for me yet! I think Legolas would be the perfect compliment to the Ring Wraith sitting on my desk... Right now, he's facing Movie Spider-Man, who seems like he isn't going to last very long. ;)
