Okay, I'm bored so I'm just gonna ask this. What's your favorite Street Fighter game? There's a lot to choose from. I'll try to list the best.

For me, I'm gonna go with Marvel vs. Capcom 2. It's just crazy fun and was a good way to end the Vs. Series. Wish there were more games like it.

Street Fighter II, no doubt.

It's included on the Street Fighter Collection on Ps2 and Xbox.Ps2 loads take awhile to load.Shouldn't Street fighter 2 be included in one game on the poll.Since it's the same game with upgrades.Street Fighter 2 had tons of upgrades for one game.

Street Fighter II. I used to play that in the arcade all the time. My sister was actually amazing at that game. She used to tear up everyone.

I gotta go with SFII, as well. Thats the first arcade game I ever remember playing. It's turned me into the hideous shell of a man I am today.

Fun story I have. When I was 7, SFII came out. I went to Arcades and played it when all the masses were storming in. There was a local master who killed everyone at the game and he just stood there and killed everyone with Ken as they came in. They all left pissed and then more came in. I had been playing it for a fe weeks by then, so I wasn't a newbie by any means. KO'd him and he just kept coming back for about 30 minutes. Only reason he won was because I ran out of quarters and he had a disposable income. Luckily, no one cared when he kept taking challenges because everyone saw I was the king. You don't know how good if felt to be the Seven year old Street Fighter Sensei. You actually got true respect from the other gamers back then. Truly a good feeling.

I can do the same with Soul Caliber II, but no one in the arcade cares anymore. It's kinda sad to see that magic lost. Street Fighter truly was the golden age of arcades. It also caused the racing craze to start up with Daytona and Ridge Racer.

Dammit Capcom, where is Street Fighter IV.

No Doubt. I have trouble picking between that and Alpha 3 as my all time favorite SF Game.

It's a tough choice since I've played (and enjoyed) every SF game in the poll. I'd probably say my favorite is Street Fighter Alpha 3, though, since the Alpha series was really fun, and 3 was the best of them.

Street Fighter 3 Double Impact.

Yep, Alpha 3 and Third Strike to make a deep run for each other. That's usually what it comes down to in polls, but I probobly enjoy Alpha 3's style more. The artwork is Third Strike is more appealing to me, as well as the parry system, but Alpha 3 seems more balanced and has waaaaaaay more characters, each of which were a joy to play. Third Strike's (and the whole III series's) characters were just made to show off the new hardware. That's why they brought Chun Li back, to make fans happy. Alpha 3's music was also original, far more fitting, and well thought out...something a lot of techno lacks.

I'd have to barely go with Alpha 3 simply because it has more to it IMO. Third Strike is a godly game as well though, way more beautiful, and way more techinal, which to me is a good thing. It makes the game deeper, and competition richer, but Aalpha 3 is more accessible. That, and the announcer's phrases and unforgetable.

"You have Fists of God!"

Crap! I voted Super Street Fighter II Turbo, when i meant to vote Street Fighter II Turbo. That game was the shiznit...

Strange though, no Street Fighter EX Plus in there? LOL... no matter!

ThirdMarioBro

I never played Street Fighter EX because it was always a Playstation exclusive, but I've always been curious. What is it about the game that people hate so much?

Ryona
03-24-2005, 05:50 PM
I played it some time ago and I can tell you why I think it's lame...

It's basiclly SF II but with a cheesy 3D format.
It doesn't look that great.

The only good thing about this game is the music.

It's not exactly a bad game... But turning Street Fighter into one of those 3D games just kills the "classic" Street Fighter appeal.

It was a pointless move and just done because anything 3D was the trend back then...

Capcom vs SNK 2 EO, followed closely by Street Fighter III: Third Strike.

I voted Capcom vs. SNK 2:EO for Nintendo GameCube, Hey what more can I say, the GameCube version is the best out of all 3 consoles IMO (Playstation 2, GameCube, and Xbox.) because the GameCube version has its own Ism called GameCube Ism (GCISM), and with it you can just move the C stick around and do all the moves you want making it alot easier to execute them, plus Shin Akuma is the best character in the game. Secondly I would have voted Street Fighter Alpha 3 for Playstation, as I love that game, and Shin M.Bison is the best.

I Love M.Bison Form Street Fighter II The Animated Movie.

The Xbox version also has that feature(EO-Ism) as well. And yes it puts all the supers arts on a stick, but I dont use it at all becuase it takes away some of the fun of the game. Besides, learning and performing Super Arts yourself manually(AC-ISM) is much more fun and rewarding, anyway... :)

No to meantion, most SF fans don't like to play people who use the extra EO/GC-ISM, for they are considered to be "scrubs"(Not that I'm calling anyone here that).

Anyway, Dark Hadou Ryu is my favourite character BTW.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/Sensation21/ryu-e-burn5B15D.gif http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/Sensation21/eryuprof.gifGotta' love that Denjin Hadouken... 8)

The thing I hated about the SF 2 anime, is even the US "Uneditted" Version was edited. I saw the Movie in Raw Japanese a few months after it was released in Japan and there was stuff cut out of the US version.

The Nude scene with Chun Li was longer(and more detailed), and I believe the entire Vega/Chun Li fight was longer too.

This is a very tough call. I really don't know that I have a specific answer. It's probably between Third Strike and CvS2, although calling that a Street Fighter game is a bit of a stretch. I'll say Third Strike. even tho the soundtrack BLOWS. Musically, nothing can top II. But on pure gameplay, I'd say Third Strike.

Third Strike's soundtrack is the shiznat snapple bam. And I also own the raw japanese version of the Street Fighter II movie, so I'll try to name all the new things. Bare in mind that I only own the "cut" version of the English dubbed edition and I don't know anything about the so-called uncut version, so I'm sorry if you've already seen some of this.

1. When Ryu scores the famous dragon punch on Sagat, a ton of blood gushes from the wound. There's a few shots of Sagat on his knees holding the gushing wound, and then another where he's screaming and running toward Ryu as he's charging his fireball.
2. Akuma is sitting against a wall in Calcutta. I know this was cut from the full screen version.
3. The Shadowlaw assassin in Calcutta is riddled with bullets, with blood spurting from each wound as he gets shot silly.
5. During Blanka and Zangief's fight, Blanka hops on Zangief's back and starts biting his shoulder, with guess what? Blood spurting out.
4. Chun-Li's shower scene had a coupe more shorts including clear shots of her butt and a full frontal.
5. Vega and Chun-Li's fight is a little longer, mostly a few shots where Chun-Li is slashed were cut, as well as a shot of Chun-Li looking at her own blood on her palm and kinda wigging out about it, and Vega licking her blood from his claws after he tells her about his hobby.

Those are the only things that come to mind at the moment, again, forgive me if any of these are in the 'uncut' version.

Hmmm, yup, that's enough to sell the uncut version for me.

My favorite theme from Street Fighter II was always Guile's, but ONLY on the original CPS1 hardware. It sounded like sh*t in Super SFII......then again, they all did. THose songs sounded great on the old hardware. Maybe it was the Genesis like sound they had. Guile's just kinda echoed together to make a unique sound. If you get it on the Nebula emulator and take out the drums it kinda sounds a little sad. Next up would be Chun Li's, Ryu's, Vega, Ke.....ah Fu*k it, I love the whole soundtrack :D

As for Third Strike.....Pure fu*king genius. Yun and Yang Stage theme will stick in my mind forever. It's like a cross between Chun Li's theme and James Bond. THe music is just great in a unique sort of way. I'll also always love Alpha 3's music though. FOr all the songs to use the same dance techno instruemnts and each sound so unique is amazing. Dan's theme is immortal.

All in all, the whole damn series has immortal music.

I saw one like that except it was Hugo Parrying all of Chun-li's Kicks and doing his special. The only thing I can Parry is Fireballs, and not those double fireballs just the basic ones, occasionally I get lucky and parry a kick or punch.

I've got all three versions of the movie:

Original Japanese
USA PG-13
USA "uncut"

The only thing the USA "uncut" left out was Chun-Li's t&a in the shower sequence. The entire Chun-Li/Vega fight is exactly the same, as well as the rest of the movie. The PG-13 version is all cut to hell.

Personally, I prefer the USA "uncut" version. The music is great, the voices are great and I can live without seeing Chun-Li's boobs (that's what the internet is for).

I'll agree that the music of the american version is much better. The japanese version is too..Quiet. But I love the song they play during the fight against Bison.
