I heard someone on the board remark that the Megbloks TMNT line was discontinued by most retailers, but I see most sets from the line at Wal-Mart and Toys R Us all the time. Is the line really in danger?

Most of the line is being dropped by retailers since Mega Blocks only put out two new sets these year, both basic sized. However I have seen those two sets at most retailers.

Yeah, kinda figured as I've only seen a handful of the two new basic sets at verious TRS's opposed to rows of the first three main sets when first introduced. :-?

Yeah I think we would've seen something at Toy Fiar if they were continue it. It also look like they're discontinuing Power Rangers (as well as their japanese counterparts and Kamen Ranger).

While this is nothing more than idle speculation, I think the reason for the lack of new product for some of Mega Blocks licenses may be a focus on the major license that they picked up, Marvel and specificly the rights to the Fantastic Four movie. They may being trying to conserve shelf space so that they do not have to compete against their own product.

They are all easily found in Canada but I guess that might be because they are Montreal based. Most stores in Canada stock them and I have seen all the TMNT Mego Blocks sets in stores in the last week!

I wouldn't be too surprised if they stopped producing certain sets though. They produce so few "new" sets each year. They don't have the same large selection as lego and end up buying more sets to compensate which don't readily fly off the shelves.

I also work for a company and although we do not get a lot of new Mego Blocks each week, because we don't sell that many, we have been unpacking the original line as well as the space set that recently was released!

If they are discontinuing it, I have seen no signs of it!
