3.Batman(I just love the artwork and the current conflicts)

Another "Top ..."-Thread.
John Carpenter's The SNAKE PLISSKEN chronicles: Snake Plissken by Tone Rodriguez, the story after New York. I hope there's plenty more to vome
Lobo: The last czarnian made me smile numerous times. His excessive violence and his sense for mayhem ist just amazing.
Young Justice: Todd Nauck's masterpiece, Wildguard can never catch up to that. For 55 issues the team around T. Nauck have brought happiness, sadness, excitement and a weird feeling I cannot explain in the end.
Wolverine: I got hooked during the "Coyote crossing" storyline and I am loyal to that series ever since. Nothing touched CC up to now, but you never know...
Identity crisis: I never thought the "clean" heroes of the JLA could get so dirty.

1.Devil May Cry - The art is 2nd to none and it matches it perfectly. It IS like reading a comic of the game and nothing is changed to much
2.Mirage TMNT - Just hands down a good series all over. I love how orgnial it has stayed
3.Dreamwave TMNT - Another comics with dazzleing art. I just love it how dark it is and clean looking. I actually showed a friend who dislikes turtles the comics and she loved them
4.Anything Spider-man - Ive always liked Spider-man so theres nothing much to say about his comics
5.Archie TMNT - These comics got me into comics bascially so I thank them for that and to this day still enjoy the artwork

DId you ever read Sins Of Youth?

Yes I have read that. Amazing. Best part of it was Tobin and Batboy - the scene with Tim and his dad in the restaurant. The Junior League of America was hilarious. One of the best crossovers I ave read.

I love Young Justice, and loved Sins Of Youth, before Geoff Johns got ahold of it and turned Impulse (possibly one of the coolest super names ever) into Kid Flash....Why, if the guy is older, call him kid Flash? Its stupid.
Anyway, my list.
1- Y: The Last Man (The writing, and almost simplistic art work is amazing)
2- The Walking Dead (What happens after surviving?)
3- 30 Days Of Night (Such a unique Idea.)
4- Origin (It gave Wolverine more depth)
5- Crimson (This is the reason I draw and still read comics. This series brought me back)

1.Green Lantern Rebirth.
2.TeenTitans. I hate YJ. it ruined what Impulse, and Superboy originally were.. Teentitans is changing all that stuff. and sort of bringing it back to its roots. and to the people who loved YJ. sorry nothing against you.. Im just stating my opinion. so i hope we are still cool.
3. JSA.. I love those golden age characters.
4. The Flash.. This title has been consently good since wow.. like way before even Waids run.
5. The Ultimates... This is simple.. Anything Mark Millar writes is gold.. and this is the two ton brick of gold.
Oh.. I'm not the biggest fan of Kid Flash.. but i hated impulse during his run.. he was a great wise cracking take no BS teen speedster back during Zerohour.. I mean he threatened to beat superman up, how cool is that.. then in YJ he just turned into a total idiot... and in my opinion Geoff Johns is taking him back that character in zerohour .. again just my opinion. Im not trying to insult anyone. so i hope we are cool.

Hard to sort through all 3,000 or so comics and find a few runs I enjoyed more than others, but I'll name a few off the top of my head...
-"Superman/Batman": Simply the most consistently well-written book with either Superman or Batman lately, and the first six issues not only provided the ultimate Superman/Luthor showdown, it foreshadowed much of what's going on right now counting down to "Infinite Crisis".
-"The Man of Steel": This six-issue mini not only restarted the Superman legend, it stands as one damn good Superman story, period. Everything since has simply been trying to capture the magic of Byrne.
-"Kingdom Come": Apocalyptic future scenarios rule, and this one was definitely one of the best, from a company that usually lets Marvel worry about that stuff. Not to mention the exceptional artwork of Alex Ross.
-"TMNT Adventures": Just for the historical value, really, it was one of the few comics I really made it a point to read when I was a kid and didn't have much money to spend on comics. I never heard about Mirage back then, and to this day the Archie comics are more memorable to me simply because I read them first and more often.
-"Flash": For me, the series' highest point was "The Return of Barry Allen" storyline, which I still make it a point to read often when I want to be reminded of how emotional comics can be when given the chance. It's always been, quality-wise, one of the most consistent books out there.
-"Green Lantern": Geoff Johns needed a miracle to make me actually want Hal Jordan back. Well, I'm not too big to admit when I'm wrong. So, I'll be waiting for Johns to turn water into wine next (though I'd settle for soda into Budweiser).
-"Superman": It's been a consistent favorite of mine ever since Dan Jurgens (aka "GOD as far as comics are concerned) wrote and drew the book. Not to bag on Lawson (I know how much people hate that), but sometimes I feel like sending him the "Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey" TPB with a note attached saying "You're not allowed to draw human characters in comics anymore until you study this backwards and forwards". With Jim Lee and now Ed Benes drawing it, it's remained one of the best-drawn books out there, and it looks like the story is catching up, finally.
-"Batman": I only read it sporadically, for about 6 or 15 issues at a time, but I do try to pick it up whenever I have the cash. "Hush" was great, and the recent "Red Hood" storyline had some big revelations.
-"Teen Titans": One of the books I most look forward to every month is a book I never read at all until the relaunch. I can't deny it: I'm Geoff Johns's bitch.
I know it would be proper to list the Mirage TMNT, but I can't. I like it well enough, but I hated a lot of the "fill-in" issues by guest writers and artists in Vol. 1, and the newest volume is merely "okay with a lot of potential for improvement". So while I pick it up religiously every month (along with "Tales"), I sadly can't call it a favorite yet.

For the moment this is my top 5
Batman: My favorite hero, I always find his storys very interesting. Theres alot you can do with Batman that you cant do with other comics out there, and get away with it.
Superman/Batman: Jeph Loeb really knows how to write for these two characters, you can really tell that the two of them dont like each other, but know that they have to work together in order for there to be peace.
The Ulitmates: Great art, great writting, havent missed an issue yet, Mark Millar writes the Ulitmates like its a moving, you have this nice pace through out each run, Bryan Hitch's attention to detail is amazing, im always in aw of what he can do.
Superman: I rarely pick it up any more, but I did love the Azzarello run, but I guess thats the only reason why I liked it.
Spiderman: I was picking this up a while back, but havent lately, still one of my favorite books to pick up from time to time when I have the money.

Top 5 currently:
The Flash: Geoff Johns really turned this book around. I never really cared about Flash until he started writing (Mark Waid's stuff was good, but Johns is in a whole other league). Every issue ends with you wanting more. And with the most recent issue ending with the return of the original Professor Zoom...I can't wait to see how Rogue War ends.
Teen Titans/Outsiders: Another Johns title, but Outsiders is written by the expert Judd Winick. The two comics go hand in hand with one another, so you really have to read them both. The recent "Insiders" arc was a little underwhelming but overall both series have been excellent. And the original Outsiders are going to be returning in the next arc. Gonna be something.
Batman: A lot of people are ticked off at the return of Jason Todd but I think it was handled really well, certainly better than how it could've been done. The recent Red Hood arc that just wrapped up was excellent and one of the more engaging Batman stories in a while (especially considering how bad War Games was).
Infinite Crisis titles: True, some are better than others, but the Infinite Crisis is really shapin gup into something truely epic. Events from each book have consequences on other titles, constant crossovers and references to other books...the DC Universe really feels like a, well, UNIVERSE! OMAC Project, Rann Thanagar War, and JLA are the best of the Infinite Crisis titles right now, though Return of Donna Troy, Villains United and Day of Vengeance have their moments.
The Punisher: Garth Ennis did miracles for this character. For so many years Marvel just didn't know what they wanted to do with him. They gave him laser guns, a pony tail, "Team Punisher", battle vans, turned him into a demon-hunting angel of justice...ugh! Garth Ennis truely redefined the character. His Max stories, despite some really juvinile cursing, has been consistantly excellent. The current arc, "Up is Down, Black is White" is not only the best one so far, but proves my theory that Ennis is actually some crazy sociopath in a nuthouse getting paid to write comics. Insane. I can't wait for his Ghost Rider arc (especially considering how "Hammer Lane" was utter garbage). The recent Dardevil vs Punisher arc, though not written by Ennis, has gotten off to a really good start.
All-Time Favorites:
The Maxx: This is my favorite comic of all time, and I'm pleased beyond words that I FINALL managed to complete my collection. It's just a very deep, psychological, bizzare story that's almost impossible to describe. The characters are weird but absolutely realistic. When you finally learn their ultimate fate in #35 you truely feel for them. While I hate to see my favorite character disappear into comic book obscurity, the series had a real, moving finale and a sequel would just devalue that. Really, one of the better moments in comic book history.
The Jhonen Vasquez Universe: JTHM, Squee, I Feel Sick; all of Jhonen Vasquez's stories intertwine in some way, that's really more expertly written than people give credit for. The stories are extremely dark and violent and eerie, but at the same time absolutely hilarious and meaningful. His off-beat art-style is a breath of fresh air, and his constant jabs at the retarded Goth subculture brings tears of joy to my eye. A shame he's...well, lazy. Otherwise we might get more than one Filler Bunny mini comic every two years.
Ghost Rider: Man, Ghost Rider just kicks ass. Visually, he's extremely grabbing and simply put, he's "cool-looking". His powers are outrageously strong, but he keeps tethered to reality; constantly fighting enemies more powerful than he is. The Johnny Blaze years were alright, but hte Danny Ketch era is where Ghost Rider REALLY got into his stride. A whole mythos was written around the character, his image and powers were tweaked just enough to make him even better, and his stories were epic. A shame the b1tch that wrote "Hammer Lane" pissed all over continuity. :ohwell:
Deadpool: Too damn funny. For an example of this, I absolutely recommend you do yourself a favor and pick up Deadpool #61 where he "fights" the Rhino. I've never laughed so much at a comic book in my life. The artists tend to employ the dreaded "anime-style" to his character, which I absolutely hate on most occasions, but it's pulled off brilliantly with Deadpool. His book is an excellent blend of Western and Eastern stlyes which give him a real visual flare. He also exists some-what outside of the regular Marvel Universe, allowing him to laugh at the expense of fan-hated stories or make other jokes outside the 4th wall.
Swamp Thing: The Maxx may be my all time favorite comic, but Swamp Thing is my all time favorite comic book character. Volume 2 of Swamp Thing is one of the finest examples of comic book beauty you'll ever find. Story-telling that remains consistantly excellent for an entire decade. Alan Moore redfined and reimagined the character during his lengthy run, and Veitch came in and continued the trend afterward. Constantine, one of the most popular Vertigo characters, was spawned by this series and owes his roots to the character. And on top of all that, Swamp Thing is one of the only Vertigo characters to routinely be a part of the mainstream DCU, as most Vertigo characters are forced to only make special guest cameos or almost never be mentioned at all. Volume 2 of Swamp Thing is just brilliant.

Another good one.
Tell me, did you leave Origin with the impression that Dog was meant to be Sabretooth? It seems everywhere I go people are drawn on whethere or not that was the intention. Personally, I'd like to think that Dog is Sabretoth, as it gives their rivalry even more substance and tragedy (the fact that they're brothers and they don't even know it).

If Dog is Sabertooth it would give everything throughout their lives much more meaning. I'd like to think it is Sabertooth.
Also, did anyone read Wolverine:The End? Horrible comic.

Tell me about it. It began with really interesting elements, which were all killed off as the story progressed. And then it was over. Rather unsatisfying.

This might sound abnormally stupid, I mean, not just average stupid but really stupid. What the heck does "get went none of the other are at the store" mean? I tried a couple of times to get what you're saying, but I can't.

1. TRANSMETROPOLITAN!!!!!!!! ((if i added as many !!'s as i MEAN when i say transmet, y'all'd be here all day, scrolling.))
2. The Dark Knight Returns
3. The Killing Joke
4. Kingdom Come
5. Proposition Player (a Trade paperback of a short series... by the guy who writes "Fables" (which only missed my top 5 by a few places). This story is insanely funny, CLEVER, and wonderfully unique. I HIGHLY recommend you track this one down at you local store. if they don't have, as them to reorder it--b/c they can. Diamond Distributors has it in stock).
6. the PRO. not for children. don't even ASK about it at your store if you're under 15. It's not pornographic--but it's ADULT funny. HYSTERICALLY adult funny. Amanda Conner did the art, Jimmy Palmiotti on inks and Garth Ennis writing. You will piss yourself. But it goes in and out of print... so special orders may not go through. Trade paper back-- but if they have the HC it's totally worth it. Hell if you got the HC and hated it, frickin' send me the thing and i'll give you your money back (provided you didn't ruin the book). but yeah. a must read for anyone over 15 (with a sense of humor).
