Well, this is the reason why most of you haven't seen me in 4 months. I searched for a pre-existing topic, and found none. So that being said, who here is playing, what server/name/level/race/class, what are your thoughts on the game...whatever.
I'm on Sargeras, as as could be expected, my main character is Tobias. lvl 60 Night Elf Hunter. I also have a lvl 25 Human Warrior named Densetsu.
I'm obviously very happy with the game, since I've been gone for 4 months. This is my first blizzard game, my first MMORPG, and the first PC game I've actively played since Jedi Knight. I think the game as a whole needs some work (since I feel it was released prematurely), especially in balancing the classes. But other than that, I'm happy as can be. I have the next 6 months subscribed and I'm looking forward to everything new being brought in. I'm addicted to the high end content now, but I'm sure I'll get sick of it at some point, and then I'll move on to PvP and new raids and such. The future is very bright, for the game. And I can't wait to go back into Molten Core tommorrow.
Well, that's all I have to say now. I look forward to this being a very active topic. ^_^

I have a friend who's obsessed with this sucker. It sounds fun. What's it like?

.....that's not an easy question to answer...at least for me.....since it's my first MMO game. It's fun.....I mean, I've been playing it for the past 4 months... o_o;;

Lemme narrow that down then, what's the premise of the game?

I just started today... Tauren Druid, female called Aurika, level 4 (I know it isn't much :ohwell: ) and the server is Hellscream.
My boyfriend introduced me to it not long ago, and I got totally hooked on the game. That tells what I think of it...
And, in the game, you choose a race to play and walk around in the different places, doing quests and fight against other players and beasts strifing the lands. I can only recommend it...
There are eight different races to play. You can be a warrior, druid, priest, hunter and more. Then you can learn different "occupations" (I don't know what the proper translation is) as Herbalist and such.
It's an online game, so you pay for using their servers. Can't remember the prize, but it's worth it. To see more, visit www.worldofwarcraft.com. Hope that helped, TMB...

Well the game is beautifully designed, for one. Character models are good, considering the enourmity of the game, but the environments are what really catch your eye. Absolutely beatiful scenery in the game. The gameplay is excellent as well, lots of fun and different things to do, although the classes do need some balancing I think.
As far as the premise goes, it's still a bit hard for me to decipher, since this is my first Warcraft game. But essentially, it's just each of the 8 races trying to fix all the **** that's going wrong with their main areas. You've got your Humans, Night Elves, Dwarves and Gnomes making up the Alliance, and Orcs, Trolls, Undead and Tauren making up the Horde. Obviously these two sides are pitted against eachother in a never ending struggle, but all everybody really wants is the same thing. Their peice of the pie....they all want all the crazy sh*t happening to their cities and people to end so they can live normal, peaceful lives (although that wouldn't make for a vary interesting game). The game is just you playing a small role in trying to acheive that goal for your faction/race via completing quests and engaging in player versus player battle with the opposing faction.
....I play it now. I play a Horde Orc Hunter on the Azgalor server.

I think the subtitle is 'more addictive than crack'
Two of my friend's have really let their uni work slip because of it. Well one of them has literally let their whole general well-being go to hell. It's not a pretty sight. I think my friends are stupid.
I go to college, I play console games, I manage a Counter-Strike clan in CAL-Open (http://caleague.com/?page=teams&teamid=53894) , and I play World of Warcraft. I try to balance my time equally and still get decent food/sleep into my system. I do know people who don't balance their time and it affects their social life and school grades. It's saddening, but then again, I used to be the same way with the original Everquest. Oh man, that was some sad sh*t.
Back when I played the World of Warcraft closed beta, I didn't really like it. There was something wrong with it, and I can't remember what. I got a guest pass from a friend and tried it for a second time, and I enjoyed it a lot more than before, and now I am a regular player. It's great fun.
I play on a PvP server, so a lot of times I find myself running through contested territory and smacking up any Alliance that I cross. Oh man, sometimes I get ROCKED, mostly from Rogues. Damn stealth. PvP is so much fun, though, and I think it really adds to the gaming experience. What's also different from the other MMORPG's that I've played is the game is quest-oriented. Sure, you can grind your way to level 60, but that's not fun at ALL. I've done that in the past in other games, and it sucks. The quests add depth to the game, and makes the game a lot more fun, especially with friends.
Anyway, my eyes are so strained from staring at this monitor. I just wanted to add in what I thought of the game.

Yeah, I think the really bad friend is just a bit dumb. He seems to like feeling sorry for himself even though he should be happier than me, technically. He has enough time to fit everything in, he has a loving girlfriend, he has no serious problems.
Glad to hear you can fit everything in okay.

If only I had money for it... $50 + subscription fees is a bit steep for me.

Well if you get the game from a friend and install it useing the free trial you only need to pay for the play time each month. Which is like 15 bucks. So you would save some money there
After the free trial, you have to buy the game, input the CD-key, then you have to pay the $13 every month.

I would play this game if my computer wasn't crappy, but alas, it's crap.

The first computer I played on had no business running the game at all, but it did. You should try to find a friend who owns the game and try installing it on your comp to see if it works. You may be suprised.
