Armageddon, always a fun topic. It's always been my opinion that humanity is stupid. Give people a reason to fight and we do over anything. Will we make a super germ that wipes us out? How about World War III?
I think that a nucular war will break out that will devestate the world and cause everyone to get cancer, then when that's over, a terrorist faction will manufacture a super germ that slowly wipes out everything.
What do you think?

I think that we will sort of eliminate ourselves or be eliminated by something nobody would ever expect. I mean, since when did life really make sense? Everytime you think you know what's coming, there's something else.
So probably it will happen in a situation like this: People are watching the biggest meteor ever fall on earth and suddenly get killed by a virus that a resurrected dinosaur fart produced. That does sound possible but not likely, but that's how I imagine the world to go out.
Or maybe we just wake up one morning, realising we're all dead. That'd be very odd.

That movie sucked.
And I don't think the end of the world will happen in my life time, so I don't care.

Nuclear weapons killing people off. Most power mad people are locked up.World War 3 Governments are screwed up already.
People killing eachother off. That is what the laws were made for in the first place,To keep people from killing eachother off.

The law would rather make stupid laws like not allowing people to own certain dogs, rather than put bad people away. Yeah I can see a war breaking out, and eventually a massive disease that wipes us all out, but as Matt stated, not in our life time, and we can't do anything to change it for our future generations anyways. Bush being in power is another attack waiting to happen, I see him/America being the start of a tragedy in the future. So I am glad I am on the peace keeper side. Not like it would matter, but still.

Lucky. I was never a cool kid.
Armageddon... I believe that we could end up being responsible for this catastrophic event. Either through war, or maybe through pollution and eventual poisoning of the earth. Scary thought, but I'm hoping we'll never see a nuclear war. And maybe we'll figure out new sources of energy to slow down the rates of pollution.
Of course, I could be wrong and Armageddon might come due to an alien invasion a la Independence Day.
Okay, a contribution to the topic. I think the world will end in one of two ways. The first one I think is nuclear war, and this is probably the most obvious one. The second one I think is a meteor of gargantuan proportions. This could probably be fixed through technology, but from what I learned through Final Fantasy VII, even nuclear missiles won't be able to take down massive rocks flying towards the planet at astounding speeds.

Not if Goldfinger gets his way.
But really, yeah humanity might someday wipe itself out. But life will go on in some form. The world will only end when the sun burns out or whatever.

Not mentioning Max Zorin...

Cockroaches will survive. They are allegedly immune to everything but a light crush.

I forgot about that! You're absolutely right. The sun's supposed to burn out someday. Hmm... So, that leaves us with nuclear war, lethal pollution, giant meteor, and the sun turning off. Wow. Anyway you put it, Armageddon is going to be painful. Oh well. I guess the roaches are destined to inherit the earth (or whatever's left of it).

I'm not sure how we'll meet our final demise, but I'm damn sure I'm gonna try to get in good with the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse beforehand. I could be their apprentice, the D'Artagnan to their Musketeers. I'll be Bankruptcy or maybe Things Not Working Properly Even When You've Given Them a Good Thumping ala Discworld.
But any way it goes down, I figure mankind will lead to its own distruction. We just don't have time to wait for the sun to die.
Well, I say that if it hasn't happened yet, it won't happen at all. Things will just dissolve and wither like they always do. Armageddon, IMO, is simply something used to scare people with their religious convictions so that they'll be better, nicer, and gentler people or pay the ultimate price. It feeds on the small fear the general populace of the world have of simply not wanting to die. It makes them behave... most of the time.
I don't think we'll burn out, just fade away.

I think we'll just run the planet out of resources eventually, and kill everything off, then we'll move to a new planet, sap it of life, and continue on.
If I was just a little more messed up in the head, i'd say we already did that to Mars (the planet, not the forum member ;) ).

Hey! I've always wondered the same thing! There's the question of a missing link between humans and their primate ancestors... but what if that's because humans originally came from another planet? What if our ancestors were volunteers for an experimental colonization of a new planet? Maybe that's why so many people spot UFO's. It's the homeworld monitoring our actions as the experiment continues! :teek:

Well here is the thing. Humans are all gona die one day. No matter if the world is whiped out or not. What matters is what you do while your hear and you have to think back and wonder did my life even mean anything?? I am not gona go into my beliefs on the subject mainly because of the book of revelations is not something i have studied alot. Im not gona speak on things i do not know about.. also it is just not a popular subject here.. I will say this though "seek and you shall find" i believe that can apply to anything no matter what you are searching for. Just go out there and find it.
