OH MY GOD!!! YOU ARE NOT GONNA BELEIVE WHAT I JUST SAW ON THE TRAVEL CHANNEL!! :o

On the travel channel right now is a show about Japan...and the different types of food....they just cooked some turtles!! It's considered to be a delicacy in Japan called Suppon...

I can't believe I just watched some poor turtle be killed for food on tv...they showed it all...from them killing the turtle and draining the blood...

The japanese drink the blood and the organs are put in the drink... GROSS!!! Then they fry the turtle, shell and all!

The host (an American) of the show then ate fried turtle legs.... blech!! I have never seen anything so gross in my life...that poor turtle!!

If ya do a search online you can find recipes for Suppon.... :o

"Rahph's Girl", were you ever taught that taking our Lord's name in vein is a mortal sin and wrong. Unless you are praying or using His name in reverence, please do not say it. Unfortunately, you are only one of many people in today's corrupt society who does this. Please, set an example for others, especially our young child fans here. All you need to do is say Oh My "Gosh" or "Goodness", but just don't cry out God's holy name for ridiculous reasons.

Mecha Cow has a point...

Then again the thought of Mecha Cow eating cow is something that disturbs me. Mad cow disease. MMMMMMMMM! I want some steak now.

As for eating turtles, its not that weird. Krow also has a good point. Who wants some dog?

"Our Lord"? What you just said is much more offensive to me than what Raph's girl said. I'm a practicing Buddhist, and left Christianity partially due to the ego that is carried by many of its practictioners. The "Lord" is not our God, he is your God, the Christians' god. If you like to pick apart at what people say, please make sure what you say is not offensive as well.

I really don't care whatsoever, but if you rag on someone for using a religious word, I'll rag back if you group everyone else into YOUR religion. Having the ego that everyone does/should believe in the same thing as you is what I find ridiculous.

Anyway, different cultures have different "seemingly strange" foods. Seems nasty to my taste, but they might feel the same about Oysters, clams, beef, pork, chicken, lobster, crab, and countless others that are viewed as normal dishes in North America.

As much as I respect all religions of the world, we'd prefer people not debate them here.

Well put, Kali. I myself am a practicing Christian (have been for 42 of my 48 years on this Earth, but I can ALSO proudly say that I have online friends, bros and sys's of ALL faiths), but this is a forum for discussing our fave Green Teens in all shapes, versions and aspects, NOT our various religious views.

A gentle word of advice, peeps: if you MUST discuss religious stuff here, do it in PMs to each other, NOT in the main part of the forum. THAT way, you stay out of trouble with Krang and the mods. They have a hard enough job keeping things civil around here already; we don't need a debate on various religions making their jobs harder than they already are. K? Cool.

Now, THAT said..............

Peace.

I think Kali's got the situation in hand, Wolfie... :P

BACK to the topic.... I've seen stranger things get eaten. All animals are basically food sources, it just depends on preparation... still gotta feel bad for the lil guys.. :(

Although if you're Jewish.....stay away...turtles, as reptiles, aren't kosher....:P
Makes me thing of Saki's now classic line:
"Tonight I dine on turtle soup!"

I have to agree with two things:

1) Eating a turtle is no different than eating snake, rabbit, deer or cow. It's a meat and all meats are considered food. But... I will have to say that drinking the blood and eating the intestines is going too extreme, every culture has its own delicacies, and I leave them be to theirs.

2) This forum is not a forum to debate things of racial, segregational, or religious views. Please, folks, if you feel the need to chastise someone about them saying something you don't like because of your religion, you can do one of two things, ignore it and let it pass, or ask the person through some other means other than wrecking threads with your religious talk. Besides, a forum dedicated to a quartet of turtles who have maimed and killed their nemisis is not the best forum to be bringing this up! :D Everyone post happy and leave your religions and personal baggage at the door!

Actually, there is only ONE true God, and He is the Father of all of us. He sent his son Jesus Christ on earth to start the one True church, the Catholic Church. You can believe it or not. It's a shame you're no longer a Christian, since we are all called to be one, in "One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church." The lack of God in this world is the main reason our society is so corrupt. People seem to think nothing is wrong anymore, in other words, "there's no longer Sin, so I'll do what ever I want." Sad

Again, I reiterate, leave your baggage and religious sh*t at the door. You all offend me by talking about it. This is not a thread for religious reasons, so drop it and I think this thread should be closed since it's went to hell in a handbasket.

Thank you, TheShowstoppa, but you are only adding to the problem at this point.

But due to the lack of interest in the original topic, I think I will lock this, with apologies to the thread starter.
