I'm looking on the Future Shop site and called them, nothing is in the system and they don't know anything about it. Gave them the upc too. Same with Best Buy, same with Walmart, same with Toys R Us, same with Music World, same with Chapters. I then checked out HMV, they don't have it either, however they do have it on the HMV/Amazon site, for $12.99 CDN.
So, whats the deal? I've never not been able to find a region 1 North American DVD. Is this thing limited in release or something? I could get it off HMV if it came right down to it...or even Ebay, but you gotta pay shipping. Least on BestBuy.ca or Futureshop.ca shipping is free....or I could just go there and pick it up. I'm expecting to go pick this up tomorrow but it doesn't look like I'll be able to now :tmad:

The U.K does'nt get the box sets either, which does really blow

Even some of the stores were surprised, because they got the first season the day of the release and now its like...what the hell happened? Especially when its the same region and not some international release.
Did you guys in the UK get the first season? If not, that blows.

Hell no, sure we get a lot of the box sets like Transformers, Visionarys, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, but when it comes to the first two seasons of arguably one of the most profitible U.K franchises in the 90's? NOTHING.

Hey,
As a fellow Canadian I know your struggle. I have a bunch of friends who work for these stores in Ottawa and have been able to tell me whether or not they will have it in stock. Walmart basically told me not to expect it on shelves tomorrow, Toys R Us didn't have a clue what I was talking about, Future shop said they had it ordered, HMV said that they have three copies, Music World said they have multiple copies and my best phone call was with Chapters who said they had a box of them going on shelves at closing today to sell first thing tomorrow AM.
I have only seen extra copies of the first season DVD lately at Music World. I got my first season at Chapters the day it came out. A little more expensive than I was planning but hey, what's a few dollars for the turtles. Zellers also assured me that they will have it in within the week but they won't have "too many copies".
I hope this helps a bit. I am surprised that you haven't been able to locate it at an HMV or Future Shop in Toronto.
Need anymore info, let me know as I will be hitting the shops first thing in the AM.

Thanks a lot for letting me know. Tomorrow I'll be sure to call Chapters again at Bayview Village and if no luck there I'll try HMV and Music World at Fairview Mall too. Hopefully they have it and the only reason they didn't have a clue about it was because it isn't a "big name" DVD or something. Who knows.

Yeah... As Canadians, I mean, we have to be patient enough just to see new figures. We really shouldn't have to work so hard at locating the DVD.
I was surprised that so few people I talked to knew about it and am still shocked that the Walmarts in Ottawa NEVER actually got it in stock. I have a Zellers across the street and they are very good about letting me know when they get new TMNT toys in, but they didn't seem confident that the DVD would be in tomorrow, although they did assure me that they will get it within the week.
I am going to check Music World. Not always the most reliable but they do make sure to always have a copy of the first season on shelves so that is promising! But Chapters was the only one who gave me the definate thumbs up. I bought my first season from them but they seriously overcharged. They said it was because they had to import it from the States or something.
Good luck and I hope you get your hands on a copy tomorrow.

Thanks, hopefully I do find it. I'll post here if I do.
Season One I was able to pick up at Future Shop when it came out, that's why I was surprised they're all oblivious to the second season. The HMV amazon site says its an import, so I guess things are different this time around. We'll see tomorrow.

I couldnt find it, its not even in the system at HMV... Amazon.ca has it I am thinking of getting it from there if I cant find it by tomorrow. We do usually get screwed on everything, although I shouldnt complain as other countrys sometimes dont get stuff period although we are neighbours with the US and most stuff comes out on the same day maybe it will just be a couple days late.

Well, so much for anyone getting them, I guess it'll have to be HMV's amazon site or Ebay. :ohwell: I'd hate to be someone who couldn't get stuff online.
Called 2 different Chapters, said they've had other people asking but they got nothing. Then I called different Music Worlds and HMV and neither got them and none even have it in their system. So this truly does suck. Maybe it will come eventually, but still. First I've ever had a problem getting a north american DVD. Either stores weren't interested in ordering or we're just straight out getting shafted on them. :tmad:
And even better, the HMV site raised the price today to $14.85. Yea, only a buck or so extra, but still

Yesterday I finally ordered it from Amazon.ca, it'll be here hopefully on Friday.
For the last two months every day I checked my movie club, Columbia House Canada where I first heard and got the first season on DVD from. Last week they bluntly told me in an e-mail they don't have it and are not planning on getting it. I would have gotten it cheaper at Amazon.ca anyway, but that's not the point.
What bothers me is what everyone is saying, that we're being chafted by Lions Gate Films and all the stores. In a way though it's good, because I don't get paid until Thursday anyway and I couldn't buy it at a store today.
I have contacted Futureshop about it, and they should e-mail me back soon. If some US stores were putting the DVD's out last week maybe that's where the copies that were meant for Canadian stores went.

I just finished ordering it off of Amazon.ca too, at least I kno this way I'm getting it. The dvd came to $20.63 CDN with taxes and shipping. The price changed again and it's back to 12.99, haha. Amazon.ca has it for that, but the HMV Amazon.ca site has it for $14.85. *Edit* Now both sites have it at 14.85 with 1-2 weeks shipping. Weird. Happy I got it when it was back at 12.99 for a bit.
Its worth it to me for the whole season, extras or no extras. The delivery estimate is May 6 2005 - May 17 2005, even though the page said 2-3 days, but hopefully it will come by the end of the week. Looks like it's been getting updated a few times today anyway.

I picked it up at Music World today for $14.99... More than Amazon.ca but it is nice to have it today. Chapters TOLD me it would be on shelves and when I went, they had none. Oh well, at least I found a copy

bahh.... I was gonna order it from there but for that long of delivery I think I will wait and see if any stores get it within a week or so. I checked CD plus, HMV, Zellers, Walmart and Future shop today lol FS and HMV didnt have it in there systems I didnt bother asking anywhere else my aunt was working at Walmart maybe I will try again tomorrow... (phoning) if I am not called into work that is.

I live in Nova Scotia, and was assuming that it would be in stores today...But I guess it's not looking too good. I would've gone today to see, but since I live in a small town on Cape Breton Island, I can't...
I have to wait until we take a trip to Sydney, which is a two hour drive away.

I have no problem getting it off ebay once my computer is fixed, but I was kind of hoping to pick it up today, but I've called Future Shop and Music World and neither of them have it. I doubt the Wal-mart will as they only had some VHS for the season 1 when I checked there for season 1. I picked up my Season One at Music World, I'm surprised they don't have it.
ETA: Wal-mart doesn't have it either. :(

Yeah this sucks, a week ago or so I went and ordered the first season at rogers video and asked around for season2 coming out on the 26th and they had no idea either. Looked on their computers for it and nothing popped up.
Hopefully soon... this is ridiculous.

At a time like this, a trade off is the only way...
I suggest we Canadians trade the USA our beer for their TMNT DVDs. *nods*

I just called Blockbuster after I seen the TMNT Season 2 DVD on their website but the Blockbuster in my area doesn't carry any of the Ninja Turtle stuff. Perhaps the stores will get it... just later than expected... or I hope at least.

Hello.
With the new release of the Season 2 dvd, canadians like me didn't find any copies in any stores that I looked in.. HMV, Future Shop, Wal-Mart and Toy R' US.
If you live in Canada and you found a copy, plese tell us where you got it at. That way we can check if it's in our area store. However some of the canadians may live in the same area so please let us know!
I been waiting a long time. I don't want Canada to be shaft!

Hi,
I got mine at Music World in Ottawa... They only had a single copy. Walmart didn't have a clue when I phoned them and only ever got the VHS of the first season.
Zellers also ordered it after I requested it but they don't have it yet although the manager put the order in about a month ago.
HMV also was willing to let me order it in store and would let me know when it arrived but I wasn't willing to wait. I had a hard time finding the first season (and finally paid like $25 when I found it in Chapters) and although Chapters told me they would have the second season too, they didn't.
I would just say the best bet would probably be to order it off Amazon.ca or go to a local HMV and ask them to import/order a copy.
Hope that helps. I spent the good part of today trying to find a single copy of the DVD. I didn't think it would be so difficult.
Good luck

It wouldn't have been difficult except no stores has it here. I'm pretty sure they will release it in a week or so. I just have to be patient.

It won't matter anyways, I can tell you from my view, I just ordered the second season off HMV.CA on the weekend and it should arrive sometimes next week. It would be better to. If you love a show, you would do anything to buy it anywhere you could find a copy offline or online.
This is amazing because this is the first time I had to order online for a dvd.. Many dvds I bought I got in stores. I remember I got the first season of the TMNT at HMV on the day it came out and it was on sale! I can't remember the price but it was cheaper than it was offsale hehe..

Ah glad you listened to my advice, Johnnie.
My dvd is to be the same amount of days probably to arrive.
Enjoy it when it comes.. BTW, when you finish watching all episodes on the season 2 dvd, please vote in my topic thread for your favorite episode. I put a poll for all 13 episodes for people to vote in.. So far Return of the technodrome is the most voted one.

Yeah, it wasn't too long ago I seen the episodes, but I will be sure to check the poll out afterwords. :)

Kingdom hearts is a great game.. Japan gets alot of things we don't get. They get anime the way it was meant to be uncensored so we have to put it up with other countries and respect their things.. we are lucky to get anime from their country.

My copy will be here tommorow!!!!
Because I got an e-mail from Amazon.ca just a few minutes ago telling me mine has been shipped, almost a week early then the expected arrival date. :D
Although I could have used it this last week as I'm only now getting over a nasty bout of the flu, and I could have used something to cheer me up.
