Still companies have said that anything from internet is not reliable. One user can Sign 1000 times. There was a letter campaing too, but it seems it didnt help.

That's true I guess, so I suppose the only way is to make the show a mega-hit

ho boy, seen that before...
Don't get me wrong, i'd love to see the toon on dvd, but i dunno, im not sure it'll happen :ohwell:
Besides, i think i already signed that...i hope there'd be a search feature or something. :dead:
Then again, who knows, with the new toon coming out and the new comic already out, perhaps they'll release the old toon in dvd...

Karpo_007

Yeah. If the new show becomes a hit, the company who has the old toon right will probably want otmake some cash too.

Yes, money makes the world go round, maybe they will release it after all :D
Hmmm strange, i did signed the same frickin' petition, im sure of it because the link of it is in DarkTurtle's site, which is the one i remember signing...oh well, since my entry's gone i'll have to sign it again :sweatdro: i wont put any text this time tho.

But like with all these old toons coming back on dvd, I am surprised that the Turtles hasn't been one of them. I mean they were a bigger hit than the Simpsons (AT THE TIME) too. Sheesh, even Schoolhouse Rock has come on dvd with all the episodes, and that made a lot of money too. Do they think that like all the Turtle fans got like killed in a mass virus of some sort? I mean COME ON!!!  :x  :dead:

Nickokapo

True, true...the simpsons got their release on dvd, so did transformers, spiderman, and a lot more...but not tmnt, nooo... :tgrumble:

Even Gumby has every single episode on tv, I'm not saying Gumby was a stupid show, I actually like it a lot, but the point is, these other companies actually think there are fans out there who want the stuff, but no, not the turtle fans they wouldn't want dvds... :x  :x

some very good and valid points are being made, but think about it, if the turtles haven't already been released now, what makes you think they'll be released in the future? i agree with the theory that if she new show is a hit, then it may get a DVD release

but what if the new show's a flop...the chances would be quite slim

here's to the new series being successful and a DVD release for the old series !!!

And Simpsons was released to DVD because it's a great series. There's no point in releasing the whole TMNT series, but maybe the first 3 seasons. After that it got really boring.

Nickokapo

Well being an old series doesn't have anything to do since gumby was also old and there you have it on dvd :P
and i also thought they'd never release the tmnt movies 2 and 3 on dvd but they got released afterall, so who knows.
Oh well if it gets released then good and if it doesn't i'll live with it

"And Simpsons was released to DVD because it's a great series. There's no point in releasing the whole TMNT series, but maybe the first 3 seasons. After that it got really boring."

Jesus H. Christ.

One, Online petitions rarely see any result. If you want to really start a movement, get yourself a piece of paper, and start mailing a petition. But if you must try the online one, go for it. They do work in some RARE cases.

Two, If they did release a DVD, they would for ALL seasons. They fricking made the show. The show was top rated after SEASON 3, thus why they kept making it.

I highly doubt Fred Wolf Films is going to be like "Hmm, you know, after season 3 the show got boring, lets not release them."

Because actually, only very few people find the show boring after Season 3.

Thank you goodnight.

Thats you'r opinnion. Maybe you are more into 80's toy commercial cartoons than i am. Truth is that in and after season 3 they started using same plot all the time. Maybe you like it, but I dont. And it seems that the people who own the rights have realised it too that it's not worth the release. If it was, they would done it already.

The trut is, maybe im not good to judge 80's cartoons. Especially TMNT. The original TMNT is much more closer to my heart than the the cartoon. It had some good moments, but mostly boring stuff.'

And if you say that there is more reason to release TMNT cartoon on DVD than there is In Simpsons, we dont need to discuss this subject anymore. It's clear that as a series, The simpsons is much better written and animated than the TMNT.

I agree fully with you Newton, but I also believe that sometime they will have to release them, people don't watch tapes anymore, just dvds.

Now Karpo, you seriously think that the Simpsons was a good animation quality and funny show while the Turtles was on??! What I remember is Homer with a lemon shaped head and like everything drawn from like a child, no punchlines or funniness at all. Then when the animation got better AFTER the Turtles were done stomping everyone, they got really hilarious. So you really gotta compare time periods here, if you compared Turtles in 1987 to Simpsons in 2002 there would literally be no contest. As pop culture changes, jokes change too.

Since you put it that way, Karpo, I guess I have the right to say that The Simpsons is only 'meh' at best. As for TMNT, I didn't think it got boring until season 5.

I don't mean to start more flaming, but I must get my feelings out, even if it IS only online.

Apparently you're forgetting that the first wave of toys wasn't released until 1988, AFTER the series permiered.

If it came out on DVD, it would depend on how much it cost. All those first seasons of this show and that are so darn expensive (or at least for my budget). Right now I'll just have to settle for the tapes which I like in their own analog, outdated way.

If we can send men to outerspace, and we can create missles that can wipe out whole countries, then by golly we have the technology to put the Ninja Turtles cartoon out on DVD.

I am not giving up hope on this. I never thought my favorite movies, the "Back to the Future" trilogy, would ever make it to the DVD format. I saw all the crap that was being put out on DVD, and I kept asking myself, "Why does this junk that nobody cares about get the special DVD treatment when something as high-profile as 'Back to the Future' gets forgotten?" And I kept hoping and praying that someday my favorite movies would make it to DVD.

And guess what, my friends; through hook, or by crook, my favorite movies are coming out on DVD. All three movies are scheduled to be released in a special edition box set, with over 10 hours of special features. At long last, I'll get to watch Michael J. Fox visit 1885 and 1955 and 2015 through the glory of DVD. I'll be able to witness Christopher Lloyd yell "Great Scott!" until I'm blue in the face.

I never thought BTTF would be released on DVD, and now all that waiting will have been worth it come December 17, 2002. My same hope is for the Ninja Turtles cartoon. Most of us never think the cartoon will make it to DVD, but I'm just going to keep on hoping and praying that it does.

If the world can subject us to the Spice Girls and Monica Lewinsky, by God it can do us a little favor and give us the Ninja Turtles cartoon - the entire blasted series, all ten wonderful seasons - on DVD.

Apparently you're forgetting that the first wave of toys wasn't released until 1988, AFTER the series permiered.

And you are forgetting that Playmates payed for the show, it was made for selling toys.

Yeah, maybe simpsons was't that good when it started, but atleast it got better over time, unlike the TMNT. I must say that seasons 4-6 +euro eps are boring, but 1993 season looks ok so far. I probably like the Red sky eps too.

If they would bring other Toy commercial toons of the 80's(like He-man) There would be a chance for TMNT cartoon DVD. But if you think it realisticly, there probably will never be one. If a letter campaing wont change their mind, what would?

I've been hearing lately that 80s cartoons are making a recycled comeback. GI Joe is on the uprise, Thundercats has been in the news again, and I just read in yesterday's paper that one of the best selling toys this holiday season have been Care Bears. Remember those? Those were popular when we were all tiny tots!

So maybe this upswing in 80s pop culture is a good thing for the Ninja Turtles.

If they reallu are bringing those back, They could also release a TMNT DVD. Atleast if the new show is a hit.

they should release tmnt on dvd, i would only like to see thefirst season but the 2nd and 3rd wouldn't be bad, this petition won't work you are better off mailing one around, a lot of work but that one will actually work. TMNT was made for selling toys, it worked to.
