who do you guys think should iyo do the voices of the characters in the new 2007 movie? Should it be the VA's from the new show? Any of the VA's/live actors from the first 3 movies? or something different?
I personally think this is how they should do it:
Splinter - Kevin Clash (by far the best splinter voice ever I think)
Raph - Josh Pais
Leo - Mark Caso
Don - Corey Feldman
Mikey - whoever did his voice for TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze
Casey - either Elias Koteas or the Casey VA from the new show
April - Paige Turco (I hope I spelled that right)
Shredder - whoever his VA is for the new (I don't know it since I don't really keep up with the new show that much)
I do hope they include Tatsu in this new movie, and if possible the guy who played him (apparently he hade a VA as well although I don't see how it was possible) and maybe even get Raymond Sierra to voice a CGI version of his TMNT character.
What do you guys think?

I think it should go like this:
Leonardo's voice = Tom Cruise
Michaelangelo's voice = Jim Carrey
Donatello's voice = Christopher Lloyd
Raphael's voice = Robert DeNiro
Splinter's voice = Patrick Stewart
April = Jessica Alba
Casey Jones = Brad Pitt
Shredder = Keanu Reeves

i like Kerma's casting seems really good to me, altho, i dont think shredders gonna be in it much, who knows, but if theres another big villian, i think maybe Frank Welker should do the voice, that'd be pretty sweet.

Brian Tochi was Mikey in all 3 movies. The only voice that changes was Don's.
April would have to be Judith Hoag, I can't stand Turco, she over-acts...Judith was a better pick, she seemed relaxed into the role.
But yeah, I wish Josh would be Raph again but I doubt he'd even voice him. I'd go ask him but I don't wanna annoy him.
:lol:Chris Lloyd as Donnie, hah!! My kid's named after him hehe...

I'm not sure I like the idea of Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler as doing the voice of Mikey. They both a a weridness to their acting performances that I think I would rather do with out in Mikey. Although on the same note i have no real idea of who could do Mikey's voice.
i kind of think Denzel Washington could do a pretty good Leonardo. And hey just for the heck of it Danny Divito doing the voice of Raphael
And for Splinter...they need to get back who ever did his voice in the orginal live-action movies. And for April i think maybe Minnie Driver could be a good April, with a little brittish twist :tgrin:

Christopher Lloyd as Donatello??!!? Sure, if you want to make him an evil genius. I think Donny's got to sound more gentle than that.
Denzel Washington as Leo? Heck, I'd watch the movie for that alone. That man is awesome. I'll have to think for a while to see if it fits, but the idea sounds cool in my head.
There was a poll? I didn't vote, but it said I did. *hm* I think the live action people should be different (because the originals are 15 years older from the first movie). As for the voice actors... I dunno. Whoever fits the part I guess. The new toon does OK, but there could be better matches out there. We all know that in all incarnations Leo and Mikey sound essentially the same. The trick is getting Don and Raph right.

not really Leonardo in the live action movies sounded way different from his cartoon counter-parts. I hated his voice in the movies I wanted to smack him till his voice sounded lower and more mature. Gosh he sounded almost exactly alike from that asian pizza dilvery kid in the second movie. Oh the horror :x

Splinter: Kevin Clash! If he's not too busy with Seseme Street (he's Elmo) or Muppets (he's Clifford..the Homey made of Foamy... )... if Kevin Clash is too busy um then Stephen Wendell...
Leonardo: Cam Clarke or Michael Dobson
Donatello: Lief Tilden or Jason Grey Stanford
Raphael: Tim Kelleher or Matt Hill...I'd suggest Rob Paulsen but he's too busy right now with other projects
Michelangelo: Kirby Morrow (drools)
But if ya think about it... all 3 Dobson Brothers(Michael, Paul, and Brian) could voice all the characters and we wouldn't care since the Dobson brothers rule :D
Casey: Elias Koteas... have u seen him lately??? He hasn't aged well... Marc Thompson is Casey... mm... Marc Thompson *drools*
April: Veronica Taylor...meh
As for the idea of Patrick Stewart as Splinter... um... no.... :P

First off, (imo)NO "BIG HOLLYWOOD ACTORS" (except the Coreys) SHOULD EVER TOUCH THIS MOVIE!!! It's just so annoying that they keep doing that in CGI movies.
Now here's what I think they should do....
Splinter: Sonny Chiba (I used to think Chiba would be a good Shredder, but I changed my mind)
Leo: Cam Clarke or Corey Haim
Mike: Robbie Rist
Raph: Josh Pais or Scott Mc Neil
Don: Corey Feldman
Casey: Elias Koteas or Marc Smith (voice of Buaku!)
April: Judith Hoag or Veronica Taylor or Paige Turco or whoever did her voice in the old cartoon (all Aprils were good in my opinion)
Shredder: Beat Takeshi (an AWESOME japanese actor)
Hamato Yoshi: Shintaro Katsu (assuming he's still alive)
Rat King: Frank Welker
Leatherhead: Voice from current cartoon
Nobody: Steven Jay Blum
Karai: BRIGETTE LIN!
Utroms: Pat Fraley
Baxter: Beau Billingslea
Anyway, that's who I'd pick. I doubt any of our picks will be chosen by Mirage and Imagi. It'll be a bunch of guys we never heard off, that'll blow us away!
BTW does anyone know if Shintaro Katsu is still alive. I've only seen him in the Zatoichi movies from the 1960s.

Shintaro Katsu died in June 1997 of throat cancer. :(
Your choice for the Utroms.... I dunno... Pat Fraley was the original voice of Splinter... it would sound weird for the Utroms to sound like Splinter. :P

Really, BL...I thought there were 3 diffrent Raphies...a new one for every film....or are we talking in suit actor not voice....because Leo and Mike were constant Donny was feildman i 1 and 3, not in 2 and i thought there were 3 tottally diffrent raphies...

I just pray they actually use voice actors and none of those A-List Hollywood celebrities with flat voices and no personality. Some of the more notable celebrities are fine voice actors (Robin Williams comes to mind), but most are simply playing themselves rather than a character.
I really dig the current VAs of the new TMNT show (Raphael took some time to get used to, but now I can't imagine him any other way) but I doubt they'll pop onto the silver screen. Though many of the folk behind the TV show are working on the movie (executive producers, etc), I think they're going to find a bunch of new voice talent rather than rely on one's already established. I could imagine them scooping up semi-recognizable 20-something actors for the parts of the Turtles.
Ken Watanabe would make a kick ass Shredder though. In live action or voice. He's got a deceptively kind quality to his voice, but very powerful and intense.

They could get Rob Paulsen for Raph couldn't they? Eh... Raph usually works no matter what the voice. I mean it even worked with Matt Hill and his voice really... well... sucks.
Robbie Rist is still Mikey for sure.
Donatello could be any of the previous Donny's really. I'd prefer Feldman or Sam Regal (the current Donny, he lives in LA now if you didn't know)
Leonardo wouldn't be too hard to cast. Be great to hear Cam Clark doing that voice again but not essential.
I'm pretty sure they'll just use the new show's VAs though. Which is fine by me.

I got some ideas...
Splinter - Kevin Clash or Darren Dunstan
Leonardo - Mike Sinterniklaas or Brian Tochi
Michelangelo - Wayne Grayson or Robbie Rist
Raphael - Frank Frankson or Josh Pais
Donatello - Sam Regal or Corey Feldman
Casey Jones - Elias Koteas or Marc Thompson or Bruce Campbell or Kurt Russell
April - Veronica Taylor or Judith Hoag
Shredder - Scottie Ray or David McCharen

I'm going to be a little realistic and pretend that they chose the Ocean Group (possibly my favorite voice over cast) to dub the new movie. My selection would be as follows:
Raph: Scott McNeil. A mixture of his Rattrap (Beast Wars) and Picollo (DBZ). Rattrap's kind've wise-ass, Brooklyn accent (for some reason Raph perpetually has one of those) but with Picollo's gritty, deep, angry tone. Maybe scored down a couple notches so it wouldn't sound so evil.
Don: Ian Corlett. He's got a good, friendly, youthful voice that can be both naive, intelligent and powerful all at the same time. Just look at his work in DBZ (Goku), Reboot (Bob) and Megaman (Megaman) for examples. He'd be a great Don, IMO.
Mike: Matt Hill. A lot of people don't like Matt Hill all that much, mostly because he's often miscast (Beach-Head in GI Joe: Spy Troops and Ironhide in Transformers: Energon, for example). However, he has that young, energetic, goofy, surfer-ish voice that would fit Mike to a "t".
Leo: Cam Clark. I know he isn't "officially" a part of the Ocean Group but he did work with them during He-Man and the Masters of the Universe as the title character, so he wouldn't be out of the question. I know it's a total fanboy choice, but he's still my favorite voice of Leo out of all the other actors who have portrayed the character.

I dont think the voice actors from the new show could do a movie. But I dont want a cheesy celeb cast to do it either. I'd rather some humble voice actors who arent in anything big do it. I would like to see the guy who voices Spike to voice one of the characters in the movie. That would be very intresting. I dont think big time actors like the people they use in those lame Pixar movies are needed

I wouldn't mind hearing new voices and new (slight) touches on the characters. There might be some very welcome surprises.
On the topic of celebrity voices. Now don't take this the wrong way, I absolutely love the turtles to death. But I don't really think (or just not really sure) that many top celebrities would go to this project. They might look down and thumb their noses onto this project. Is it very unfair, absolutely!! I just don't know that many celebrities (actually none) that are fans of the characters or just get what we as fans already know. That these characters, if delved deep enough, is just brimming with pools of ideas, drama, and character development. Third dimensional instead of one dimensional.

Or maybe a little more like Bat-Hound. His Bat-Hound sounds like Piccolo, only a little "friendlier". Throw in Rattrap's Brooklyn accent and he'd be just right.

I REALLY like those choices. (Not that different from mine actually.)
I also think Hedy Burress could make a decent April, and Monica Rial could play Shadow.
And, for the record Pat Fraley was also the voice of Krang, and I was picturing a more gentle version of the "Krang Voice".

His Jetfire was a lot like his Duo Maxwell (Gundam Wing), which was pretty much Rattrap without the accent.

Gahhhh, nooo. I do not want Matt Hill touching Mikey I have had high hopes from him and been totally let down. (No offence to any fans of him out here)
Michelangelo: Kirby Morrow (drools)
But if ya think about it... all 3 Dobson Brothers(Michael, Paul, and Brian) could voice all the characters and we wouldn't care since the Dobson brothers rule
Fun Fact: Kirby Morrow was the voice of michaelangelo during Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles the Next Mutation. I sh** you not  . Now personnelly I really like Kirby Morrow's voice. I think that he could give Michaelangelo a slightly more intelligent angle to his personallity that Kirby seems to posses. He does the dubbed voice of miroku the perverted monk in my all time favorite manga/anime Inuyasha. However as (particularly) miroku, and with some other characters he has played, although I like the sound of his voice he is way to monotoned for my likeing.
Although the Dobson brothers could probably do Mikey or any of the other turtles justice as well.
Personally i think I would like to have Townsend Colman handle the job of voicing Michaelangelo ( if we can't have Wahney). I think I would really like to see that. I think he could do a real good job of rehashing Michaelangelo for the silver screen, with a more modern twist to his personna from his 80's suffer dude one. In fact I know he could.
I don't think that seeing how the times are a suffer dude personallty would really work for Michaelangelo, they need something fresh and...wel at least 21 century :P , and I would love to see townsend Coleman pull it off and what he would do with it. that is of course if Townsend Colman hadn't dropped off the face of the earth; the man has disapeared I tell ya. Where is he I would ask him personelly my self to audion for the Movie Michaelangelo if he was around  .
But hey if not Townsend Coleman as Mikey I just thought of some one that could do awsome as Michealangelo (actually any one of the turtles) the oh so loverly Jeff Bennent 8)
i still think Denzel Washington would make a kick ass Leonardo (though such a great actor probably wouldn't want to do a CGP movie). But if not him I like the idea of the guy that voices Spike from Cowboy Bebop as Leonardo. That would be freaken awsome and sexy as hell too **shudders**:D :D
But Cam Clarke would be a superb voice as well and I would love to what he would do with leonardo in a more serious setting. Man the possibilties are endless, he has such and awsome voice and his acting is great.

Actually, Brian Tochi was Leo in all 3 movies. Robbie Rist played Mikey (in all 3.) Donny changed for 2, then came back to Corey in 3, and Raph changed in all 3, although his movie 2 voice was an amazingly close replacement.

Hey fun fact, the pizza dilvery guy in the beginning of the movie that Mikey doesn't pay full price for is the sctor that is in mikey's turtle suit. And the foot ninja that slaps April across the face in the subway is the actor in Doneatello's turtle suit. :P

hey another fun fact is in that same first movie, when Raph is chasing Casey Jones from Central Park through NYC, a taxi pulls out in front of Raph, he does a flip over the fron hood of the cab and runs off still in pursuit of Casey. After that, the passenger in the cab, who says "what the heck was that?" was actually (correct me if I'm wrong on this) none other than our beloved Josh Pais, the voice/live actor of Raphy in that movie. Also correct me I'm wrong on this one, but in the 2nd movie (secret of the ooze) while April is talking her with boss, the "news Manager" one of her co-workers answers the phone, and tells her that someone is on the phone and needs to talk to her and says his name's Donny. April's co-worker who says that to her (he's sitting in a chair right behind the news manager) is none other than Mark Caso, both the VA of Leo in the 2nd movie and the guy in the Leo turtle suit. He's got the pony-tail and everything. I know I probably got this wrong, but I think at the end of that movie during the Vanilla Ice scene, I think Vanilla Ice's manager or whatever (the tall guy with the pony-tail) says "what is this? I didn't order any extras?" and the short guy w/ the ponytail next to him (who must be his assistant or whatever) I think is the guy in the Mikey turtle suit for TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze. Donatello's stunt double in the first movie was the asian pizza delivery boy, Keno, from the 2nd movie, and for those of you who don't that actors real name is Ernie Reyes, Jr. (about a year or 2 after he did turtles, he had his movie called Surf Ninjas in which his real life dad, Ernie Reyes, Sr. played his uncle and Mr. Duece Biggilo Male Jiggilo himself Rob Schieder (I don't know how to spell his last name) was also in that movie. At the beginning of that movie, Ernie Jr./Keno meets up with this one-eyed Asian guy who beats the crap out of the enemy and takes Ernie and Rob, the younger brothter of Ernie Jr.'s character, a beautiful asian (if my memory serves me correctly probably Filipina) girl who is to be the wife of Ernie Jr.'s character (I don't remember his character's name in the movie), and Tone Loc (who plays a cop for the LAPD in this movie, to Ernie's homeland in southeast Asia.)

Bruce Campbell played Ash and Evil Ash in that one and Ted Raimi played three characters in that movie.

MJF would be a good Donatello. I also think Billy West could do a decent job, too. I'd be cool with it if they just used Sam Riegel, ditto with Wayne Grayson for Mikey. Wayne in particular impressed me with his performance in "Same as it Never Was".
I'd perfer if they didn't give Raph a Brooklyn accent - just was never a big fan of that. I'd go with Rob Paulsen, and just have him lower his original Raph voice a bit. And get angrier.
Cam Clarke would be fine for Leo, but does he still do much voice acting? Last thing I saw him in was those Netzero commericals from a couple years back. Oh, and Clifford on PBS.

Forgot about video games and the He-Man 'toon. That was about when He-Man and everyone were young, right? Like He-Man babies? Don't know if this was mentioned elsewhere, but I also did a little research on IMDB as well, and it looks like he's doing this new Barnyard movie as well, along with Rob Paulsen and gobs of other fantastic VA's. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0414853/
More I think about it though, it would be kinda weird to go back to original cast members for the new movie. As much as I would love to hear that, I think the only way that would've worked would be if they had used the same original series voices for the first movies, the Next Mutation, and the current show. But then you have to get into how differently the turtles acted in each medium, and that's all whole other can of worms.
