While talking with my best friend's boyfriend about comics and such, this comic was suggested to me. I decided to check it out by reading reviews on amazon.com and am positive that I'm going to love it!
Have any of you read it?

I've read every single issue so far. Courtesy of my friend.
I think it's got not so good lately. But everything else has been brilliant.
My favourite issues are the X-Men crossover ones. Some of the humour in those is fantastic.

your better off reading the older orginal spiderman comic, yes the USM has some good parts, but overall its just them changing little things in the spiderman history, nothing great.

I didn't like most of the new versions of the villains. Especially Venom was crappy IMO.

I think you can stop saying that to everyone who makes a new thread now.
Anyways, I read it for awhile, then stopped, then jumped back in for a couple issues before hoping back out again. I'm an on and off comic collector, so it's hard for me to judge the entire series, but from what I read it was pretty good.

the regular spiderman. has its ups and downs, but if you arent really reading comicbooks and just want a streamlined version of a really cool character then go for ultimate spidey.

Yeah, it's like, I tried reading Amazing Spider-Man lately, and I don't know what's going on, so and so is dead, or so and so was a clone, or so and so used to be with what's their names and is now hanging out with whatchamacallit. USM on the other hand, you can pick up any issue, and it gives an introduction and let's you know what's been going on on the first page. I dig Mark Bagley's artwork, and I really like the way BMB writes dialogue.

I basically gave up on the Regular Marvel universe during Maximum Carnage then The Clone Saga. Now I read only Ultimate titles.
I really like reading Ultimate to see how the work characters into the books plus not having close to 40 years of back story helps too.
I really like Ultimates 2 right now and Ultimate Fantastic Four is amazing right now.

I've got my hands on some of the USM comics and love them! Can't wait to get more, my the crappy local bookstore ran out, and they don't get new stuff often!
