Yes, this probobly belongs in the Sony thread, but I just do not like posting in there because...well, it's sucks. Anyways, I just made a big ass purchase. I decided to buy the Japanese version because the region codes on movies are irrelevant because I refuse to watch American movies on the damn thing anyway, and there's going to be a rumored Battle Royale UMD released in Japan which is reason enough to import.

By now, you can tell. I bought a PSP. A Playstation Portable. That thing with the really big screen. Yeah, so now I have no money. I got Ridge Racer with it...well, because it's Ridge Racer. Sweet Lord is that game beautiful. Next up is Darkstalkers and Wipeout now that there's not anything coming up on DS for some time.

Now, does this mean I like my DS any less? I think this pic I stole off of AMN discribes that...

Awww, aren't they cute :D ;) , but I really am happy with this thing. Many of the games are awesome, and with Street Fighter Alpha 3 coming, that will seal the whole deal up. I guess this makes me multiplatform now.

Nicely executed, sir. You broke down and bought yourself a Sony system. Your mother would be proud. :D

Expensive as hell Japanese electronics for the lose. CD's and DVD's are no better, making my hobby ridiculously expensive.

All sony products, are expensive.Take it from me I bought a 36 inch Sony TV, in 1998 the TV kicked the butt 4 years later.
My current TV, I bought for nearly 3300 dollars canadian in 2003.
One of 36 inch Vega HD TVs, I would be mad if this one kicks the bucket.
ThirdMarioBro, nice purchase of a PSP.
Other Expensive stuff, I bought a 500 watt Stereo.
Because the Picture Tube, was faulty.

Well, it's a Japanese PSP, but I got it at a discount. We had a giveaway at AMN and Sony was supposed to send us two curtousy PSP's. They sent three due to a screw up in the PR department. They didn't know, and we said nothing.

End of story was we decided to sell the third one off for server fees and junk for a bargin of $200 (because we got it free), and I jumped on it because it was a steal at that price, and there was only one UMD movie I'd ever buy and that was from Japan anyway, so the region thing is of no concern since the Japanese units have English in them, and it's the same thing anyway. Basically I got it cheap, new, and no dead pixels, and I was going to do it anyway when the price drop came over here. I just got lucky and got an early score for the Japanese rate of $200. Now of course the reason my boss sold it for $200 was because I acted like the inability to play US UMD movies hurt it's value over here  . Sucker.

That's the story. Now I have two handhelds. The DS so kicks the **** out of this thing in every way imaginable, and DO NOT take it on a trip. It won't last outside the state boarder. The MP3 functions are sh*t as well, and the fu*king memory sticks are too expensive to bother with. I just had to have my Street Fighter Alpha 3 online with new animated cut scenes from the studio that did the movie and the eventual Soul Calibur II port. Ridge Racer and Wipeout too.

Other than that, I'll just keep my DS in my pocket thank you very much. :D

WOW I thought I would never see that day O_O Oh well even with the reassurence from the worlds most biased Nintendo fanboy I still stick by my earlier statements that the PSP is total crap. I played one, and have played one even more recently. I've played every game out so far that my friend got. I dont really like it. I'd rather just dish out the extra cash to buy a Play-Yan and I can have everything a PSP does and more. It might cost more in the end but it doesn't matter to me since I have the extra money. And in the long run it'll save me more money
I'm glad your happy with the PSP ^_^ I hope it brings you many hours of hand numbing handheld gameplay. haha just like my DS did on the airplane on the way to Seattle

If the PSP will ever be available for less than 150 bucks AND get some really good games, I might consider buying one. As things look now, it will never happen though.
