I've been watching the Hurricane Dennis coverage so I can see my former hometown of Pensacola, FL get chewed up and shat out by this God-like storm.

Anyway I've realized that when the "Local on the 8's" and weather updates come on, I just freakin love the music. Sometimes it's upbeat and happy, sometimes it's slow and sad. Such diversity. Anyone else think they need a soundtrack?

It's what TV does, mixing music with as dramatic pictures as possible to awaken emotions. Often a very poor attempt, but from time to time it seems to work.

You sure they're not broadcasting subliminal messages to you in between those awesome sax solos?

"And now for your five day BUY CHEERIOS forecast. On Monday there will be a BUY CHEERIOS 40% chance of rain BUY CHEERIOS and thunderstorms."

I love the Cheerios Channel, too. Everything from the music to the reporters to the delicious honey nut flavor.

Why do I want Cereal all of a sudden? :D

But isn't there a law against that type of influencing people?

Yes, my grandfather told me about when he was a kid and drive in movie theaters were the shizm shazm. Anywho he said for awhile right before the intermission a picture of popcorn and soda would flash on the screen so people would start thinking about buying concessions. But im pretty sure there is a law aginst such things now.
