I just got a DVD drive for my computer and I want to rip some DVDs. I would like to start making DVD quality music videos and such. Now I can rip anything I need and then use it when ever I want and I don't have to go download it and worry about quality >< Does anyone know a good DVD ripping software? My DVD driver didn't come with any software <_< It burns too, so if you know a good burning software please tell me, Thank You ^_^
Are you looking to encode them using DivX or Xvid...or do you want to make .vob versions of the videos?

Umm I just need a software that rips the DVD into a format I can video edit. Like AVI or something. I have a Divx Codec pack for my Adobe Premiere. I don't know what .vob is o_O But i have some DVD rips that are .bin which I can't edit ><
Sorry I didn't respond right away. I fell asleep. Anyway, if you want to edit them with Adobe Premier, you'll probably want .avi, which isn't too hard to do if you have the right tutorial. There's two ways to go about doing this. There's the GordianKnot way of encoding, and then there's the DVD2AVI way. I'll provide both for you.
GordianKnot: Go here (www.doom9.net) and go to Guides, then DivX/Xvid/whatever, then pick whichever one you want to do, and follow the guide there.
DVD2AVI: Go here (http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/DVD2AVI.htm) and they'll hook you up with a great guide to making a .avi version of the DVD you want to edit. For this way, you'll need a DVD ripper to put the files on your hard drive, so you can use this (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Rippers/SetupDVDDecrypter_3.5.4.0.exe) to rip the DVD to your hard drive, then use the guide from there.
A basic explanation of .vob files:
.vob files are much like .mpg files, only they are in MPEG2 format. When you rip your DVD, it is divided up into .vob files. They're basically uncompressed video files that are not altered in any way. I have countless .vob videos of J-Pop PV's. They are top notch quality. I prefer .vob files instead of encoded videos.
Hope this gives you some insight. Let me know if you run into any trouble.

Wow! Thank You very much ^_^ This is really helpful. I got all the software and installed it but I got stuck ><
On here http://www.doom9.net/ I picked the Divx 5 one and I started doing what it said
I got to this part "In order to disable profiles, click on Select DivX Certified Profile,"
And I got stuck because my profile editor looks different then the one in the picture and doesnt have the "Select DivX Certified Profile" button
What should I do?
I say don't worry about it. That option would only be if you were putting the video on a VCD/DVD and you would like it to be played back through your DVD player. I'm assuming you're not doing that.

Oh okay, Thank You! You know alot about this kinda stuff o_O I don't know half as much about computers as I thought I did ><
Ah, I don't know that much. I do know where to find solutions, though. I learned all this junk back when I was big on encoding DVD's to Xvid encoded avi's. Let me know if you come across any other problems.
