Okay after talking about Rival Schools I got the sudden urge to play another fighting game. It was called Destrega! It was about these fighters who could control special artifacts. They used them to gather power and use it on people. Some of the moves looked like they came from Dragon Ball Z but this was way ahead of any DBZ game and still IS to this day. I have NEVER played a fighting game this fun except maybe Smash Brothers. In the game you run around in fully 3-D environments and launch your elemental powers at each other. You can jump and do them in mid air too. And depending on how many times you mash the attack buttons depends on how big of an attack it is

You have an energy bar too so you can't be a cheap ass and keep launching the same attack over and over. If you get bored throw crap at one another you can get into close quarters combat which is where the fun begins. The combos kick ass! And look really cool to pull off. You can dash, punch, kick, and block. So awesome! If you get scared you can run away and launch some more energy at your opponent.

The Game was made by Koei and it is rumored that you can unlock Dynasty Warriors characters but I never did. I had it but I lost the damn thing! I found it new so I forked out 10 bucks and nabbed it. I want to buy it again -_-

It had a crap load of characters in it too and most of them were really cool to play as! I like the environments too they had stuff to jump on and you could fight all over. The story was pretty decent too! For an old ass PS game made in 1999 this game was GREAT! I don't see how anyone could dislike it

Anyone else played it?

I'm pretty sure Tekken came out on PS1 before this

Tekken wasn't anything like this though. Tekken was fully 3-d yes but no where near as interactive. I should have put "Best 3-D fighter" because I think Bloody Roar came out before this too now o_O I need to pay more attention

the "Best 3-D fighter" goes to Soul Blade/Soul Edge :)

I think I played that. It played like Soul Caliber, Bloody Roar, and Tekken to me. I don't like that style. The enviorments were bigger in Destrega and you could run around them pretty fast. In SC and Tekken your always close quaters and you can only dodge and stuff. I don't like that style. Destrega was just too different. I wish they would have made another one >< With the way it played on PS1 it would have been amazing on the next gen systems. *sigh* they wouldn't have even needed to change it. It could have STILL be just as good on one of the new systems. They just needed to build everything new around the already solid combat system
